A federal judge has ordered Donald Trump’s administration to temporarily lift a funding freeze that has shut down US humanitarian aid and development work around the world, and he has set a five-day deadline for the administration to prove it is complying.

The judge’s ruling late on Thursday cited the financial devastation that the near-overnight cutoff of payments has caused suppliers and non-profits that carry out much of US aid overseas.

The ruling was the first to challenge the Republican administration’s funding freeze. It comes amid a growing number of lawsuits by government employees’ groups, aid groups and government suppliers asking courts to roll back the administration’s fast-paced dismantling of the US Agency for International Development, or USAid, and US foreign assistance overall.

Well, good morning, folks. Again, I'm a little later than usual in getting started on The Tree House News and Discussion.

It is a beautiful, typical sunny🌞 February day out there today. It is wonderful to see the sun again, but it's supposed to turn into more sh-ty weather for all of next week, too.

I was preoccupied with putting together a news item, one that really sent shivers up my spine. It just arrived among my notices.

I also had a slight problem with the coffee maker. It has the grinder and the drip coffee maker as one unit. The grinder wouldn't grind! Oh, my, my! I pushed my red button before blowing a fuse. What a grind! 😁

Other than that, so far today, I have it under control, not dropping anything, tripping on something, or butt-fingering things over, and playing hell on keystrokes when typing on the keyboard, too.

SELF SABOTAGE

*Self-sabotage* is when actions or thoughts undermine a person's goals and well-being. It can happen consciously or subconsciously.

My indication of *self-sabotage* is when the little red devil gets a foothold and breaks your rhythm; it's like hitting a dead key in the piano at a concert. It doesn't stop there; Your heart sinks, and after that, it's like snot; it hangs on, and then all the other keys sound off-note.

You can try to break the chain of adverse reactions, but it's like your steering wheel is locked up, and you are headed straight for the precipice. The steering wheel wasn't locked up; you were. That is a psychological thing.

You actually set yourself up psychologically to fall. However, you can also set yourself up with a positive result by having a positive attitude and outlook as opposed to a negative attitude.

OK, you are skeptical, but you never know unless you try it, but forget the maybe, maybe not frame of mind; go in with the intent of coming out with at least the chicken's neck, if not the entire chicken. Hang it on the wall for a trophy or something. That's a positive attitude.

When the little red devil shows up and begins to poke me with his little fork, I reach for my very own homemade red panic button to hit. It works. I even got my partner to use it once, and she usually has the patience of a rock, but even rocks can wear down; I don't like it when it gets to that. I don't have patience, so I can easily lose control of my emotions. Now, I keep my panic button nearby.

Mi indicación de *autosabotaje* es cuando el pequeño diablo rojo se afianza y rompe tu ritmo; Es como tocar una tecla muerta en el piano en un concierto. No se detiene allí; se te hunde el corazón y, después, es como mocos; se queda colgado y, a continuación, todas las demás teclas suenan desafinadas.

Puedes intentar romper la cadena de reacciones adversas, pero es como si tu volante se hubiera bloqueado y te dirigieras directo al precipicio. El volante no estaba bloqueado, sino tú. Eso es algo psicológico.
