Native American Ojibwa Tradition

A traditional story as told to me through the years by my people the Ojibwa when I was a child. This is from memory not a book although some books have been instrumental in attaining these knowings

All things, both animate and inanimate have spirit energy. Universe is living spirit. The stars are the Spirit Elders. The moon is Spirit Grandmother and the Earth is Spirit Mother. All upon the Mother is of the living spirit, the rocks, the soil, the plants, the animals, also the water and all that resides within it. Just as is the air and all that resides within it.

In those days we were the keepers of the land and moved freely as we followed the path that would take us to our wintering grounds where game would remain plentiful to sustain the people for the winter. Then again moved once more in the spring to the summer grounds where game was once again plentiful and the streams burgeoned with fish. Then there was the growing of wild crops for the next falls harvest season.

After reaping of the harvest and the kill of the season there was a gathering of many clans, far and wide, for the great feast called potlatch (spiritual ceremonies and dances dedicated to Gitchy Manitoo) prayers of thanksgiving to Great Spirit for the feast which will give sustenance not only to body but sprit as well for all livings things are part of Great Spirit.

It was believed that when one partakes of the flesh of an animal you are also welcoming their spirit into your own being. It is also a time for the change totems if one so desired, the totem of the animal chosen is one that will represents the animals characteristics. Other ceremonies are usually in the line of the reenactment of their hunting and or battle expeditions followed by singing and drumming.

The medicine man/woman or Shaman start the ceremonies by chanting and drumming, representative of dispelling evil spirits so that their prayers and petitions would reach the ancestors in the spirit world and Great Spirit and for the calling of the animal and plant spirits.

NOTE

Ojibway Spirituality
In general terms, Ojibway spirituality consists of traditions and beliefs, events, and objects. These include the sweat lodge, pipe, drumming and singing, drums, and reenactment of past events

The naming ceremony, prayer, vision questing and connecting with the guardian spirits, the Pow wow, the medicine man or woman (shamans), medicine bags and dream articles and traditional stories regarding beliefs in the spirit world Great Spirit and the recalling of some historic events such as The Flood, Turtle island, the first land etc. Ritual and spiritual objects include tobacco, sweet-grass, sage, and cedar.

Dogs were the equivalent to the sacrificial lambs of early Christianity. There are 4 seasons which are named the 4 grandfathers (or 4 powers of the universe) which were believed to be the four directions of North, South, East, and West, also included were the symbolic "four colors of man" red, yellow, black, and white which I believe was added to the medicine wheel after their encounter with the European settlers

Recycling and sanitation

After one had used what they needed from the land for nourishment it was not only a custom but a respect to give an offering of tobacco or sage by sprinkling it over the communal fire this would clear the way for offering up of prayer of thanksgiving and petitions with the rising smoke to Great Spirit who had provided for us. It was believed that all that was provided to the people for sustenance should be returned to the earth to replenish the Earth Mother's living spirit. The body of a beloved one was wrapped in skins and put up on a platform and left there to rest for about a week, this was to give the spirit of the departed one some time to finish their duties here, tie up loose ends so to speak. The platform was then set on fire where both the essence of body and soul was believed to drift up into the heavens where it would join the ancestors.

(Gichi Manitoo) which could mean evil force or good force/spirit. Or (Giizhig) which is a closer description of a malevolent God like spirit being. Ojibwa perception, for other side, is the word for another place like this one except invisible to us. Perhaps my people, the Ojibwa’s perception of Dimensions? Everyone has a different perceptions of the afterlife even among the same people.

Other Symbology

Then there is the moon cycle ceremony of Grandmother moon who comes to visit every month to cleans and prepare the girl child for womanhood or to cleans the soon to be mother with the gift of bringing forth a new living force in the sacred moon lodge.

Father sun gives sustenance to Mother Earth and her children, and the children are of the grandfather stars, the realm of the ancestors, from whence the star children have arrived so shall they someday return to take their position as warriors, protectors and guides to the heavens for those who are at the beginning of their journey the elders are their guides in finding their way back to the stars.

The Pot-loch twice per year, spring and fall is the most important and crucial celebrations for the people as a yearly event. Thanksgiving to father sun and the spirit mother earth for providing us with the abundant seasons from, hunting, fishing and harvesting. The trader not only carried precious commodities from far away places but were also were the delivers of news from afar, as far away as from coast to coast the traders delivered oral messages to other tribes.

With the catches filled to the brim, we were blessed with the needs to sustain us through the long sleeping time. It is a time of rejoicing and great trading, sometimes for days.

All is in harmony, all have their seasons and all serve their purpose, from the tiniest insect to the largest of the four legged. This is the ancient way of thanking mother earth, That is the basis of what the modern day pow wow is supposed to represent in part.

The medicine man or woman (shaman), practice healing of the spirit and body as well as provide advice for daily living. They call upon the guidance of the spirits of the ancestors or ancient ones, the spirits of the animal realm, and the elements for help when performing their ceremonies and healing and when seeking direction for this earthly journey.

Food for Thought

If one includes anything extraterrestrial, such as angels, light beings, quantum dimensional travelers, aliens in energy ships, whatever.

My theory is that back a few million years ago if we were genetically produced by such beings as listed above, That would make us their off-springs or descendants. Then if that were so that would make  those beings as creators or
*Gods* as to our perception of these beings in a manner of speaking, that would also make us quite literally children of stars.

How many planets are there with life on them in the universe? Especially if you include an infinity of potential dimensions and parallel universes.

And how many of them that are billions of years older then ours? Where did they go when their world died? And where else in the universe would they be right now?

It is said that it is possible to manifest anything we can imagine in our minds. Einstein said there were an infinity of potentialities in the Ether of creation. Then that would mean anything we can think or imagine in our minds
*already exists.* "hee, hee, hee." Be careful what you think about, for it may already be somewhere in another reality.

How Fertile is Your Mind?

It is said that we only use 10% of the brain and 90% lays fallow or dormant. As long as most of the activity is 10% is not physically impaired in anyway we have full consciousness of the world around us. But if this were so, would this not also put restrictions on potential capacity of the "minds" ability to become conscious of other realities?

Realities that vibrate on frequencies beyond what we can perceive with the five senses. The brain is animate and can only know and be aware of the physical construct of the environment it is imbued in. But the mind goes beyond the restriction of the physical brain as the innerlight or essence of the container it is contained in.

Some call this living essence the soul. I can only conjecture that all there is in the total consciousness of such an immensity as universe is in itself created from thought or soul energy. If this is so then this puts no restrictions as to how many infinities we can conceive.

I truly don't believe that the other 90% of the brain is actually dormant, but quite active, making up the subconscious thoughts that have been stored there since the beginning of humanity through the DNA memory. Junk DNA and Junk brain cells? I doubt that the universal thought or soul made anything that is junk. If we were to get access to the other 90% of the brain, I do believe that nothing would be beyond our comprehension. As written in the Book of Genesis,  where my people are united, nothing shall be beyond them.

Here is another puzzle for anyone that has a wonderfully wild and fertile imagination.

Now for one, about 80% of science is investigative work, did you know that? "Like wow!!!" Ya, like in detective or private eye type work. Much of what is involved in scientists research cannot be touched, seen, or conceived with the five senses. Then how can we know what is in the unseen or undetectable you may ask? Well most of science is theoretical very little is a proven fact, but they can come up with a well reasoned feasible possibility that only needs this little piece to finish putting the puzzle together. As our technology advances some of the pieces become more evident, but for every piece we discover we come to find that there ever more tinier pieces yet to be discovered .

Do these illusive links or pieces ever makes it to the researchers microscope? "Na!" Most likely the calculus for finding these pieces end up in the bottom of someone’s bird cage instead of the lab, sometimes deliberately and at times quite possibly for the best, perhaps the timing would be wrong and could create more harm then good.

So a lot of science is by comparing the behavior of one body of energy against another and by measuring those oscillations they can calculate a fairly accurate but not necessarily hard fact 100% proovable. This method is called ***inference*** Inference appears to be the magic word in the many fields of scientific research these days.

Why not use this same measuring method used by the researchers and go out and do our own investigative work into the metaphysical and quantum physics which is already a fast growing method of measuring the continuum within atomic particles, worlds within worlds on a micro level. Quantum physics, is already a fast growing scientific way of researching the many levels quanta levels of physics. Numbers, oh yes numbers coming out of your bazooka if you like numbers, add-infinitum. But when it comes to trying to calculate universal distance or even the micro universe they run into a snag. All equations end with the infinity sign

Do we not qualify as investigators? Heck we been space cadets most of our lives anyways and I think I know planet Mars better then my own backyard.:o)
Imagination is allowed without giving up any thing you believe in, maybe just modify our thoughts some in order for the next person to understand.

Faith or Belief and Manifestation

Because something can not be perceived by the five physical senses does not mean it doesn't exist. Past, present and future are  simultaneous on the fabric of universe. The past has been written and recorded, the present is being recorded and  will be the manifestations into tomorrow's reality. Today is like  many trails leading into a forest of quantum potentialities. The  decisions we make today predict how tomorrow will unfold, for  the oneness of consciousness of all things has already been written.

There are those who I would have to admit are truly more advanced in the awareness of their subconscious minds or introspective, then others, This inner knowing is called **wisdom**, The experiencer becomes the experience and the Oneness experiencing itself through all of creation, Creator and created as one, the (quantum realities, or dimensions ad infinitum). And you may ask how far along are we on this journey of awareness?

Let us for a minute say that reincarnation is a part of a universal reality. Why would we as spirit beings who are of inner knowing choose to loop back to a certain point along this time space continuum to be reborn into this time in this reality once more?

Or could it be for as many times as our spirit being has or may have experienced life in how many realities since the creation of the universe, the big bang, as science labels this phenomena. From this point where hence forth we are assigned to undertake another mission through the vessel of reincarnation? Let us say this were s,o then how many limited lifetime memories does a spirit being contain?

We all experience our own varying personal levels of hell and heaven as we go through life in this reality. Is this a learning and growing cycle that refines us to the best us we can be as we learn from the school of life?

It is those who will not learn from their turbulent, controlling, violent,  greedy, and contrarian ways  who will end up getting caught in the repetitive loop of their own making to endure the same turbulent cycle again. It is of our own choice that we do so.

From how science sees it, it is said that for every action you get an equal and opposite reaction is what I believe to be, whatever one puts out to universe will returned to them in equal portion.

If we can manifest our own hell, then why not our own heaven? We do have the choice and we can do something to change it. But many will say, “Oh,  better the devil we know  then the devil we don't.” Trust the little voice the inner instinct on this. If we were all to believe that, then there would truly be world Anarchy gone out of control and nothing would change.

Now, about these inner sensitivities: some say they are a curse while others call them a blessing or a gift. Why such a dichotomy?

As it is said, any constructive vision of success is in the eyes of the beholder, yes having a vision is good and goes along with the experience of living life. Thus it is in the mind and heart and sensitivities of the experiencer shall we say. We know that as we think negative thoughts, so will we get negative results in return. Positive thoughts can also equally bring positive results, or positive results from meticulous constructive planning and administration.

As we continue along our journey we learn much more about the mystery of our inner selves and our own potentials. We find many qualities within that we had no idea were ever there before. We can again begin to see through the eyes of a young child who sees everything as possible. Those same eyes can see with a limitless ability to bring healing and wisdom to an ailing world and the awakening into a much vaster consciousness We are all One within the oneness of infinite consciousness.

Out Of Body Experience? Or a Dream?

"We're are not in Kansas any more, Toto." In the midpoint between sleep and awake is where I have been most open and receptive to having visions. With dreams you know you are dreaming. Dreams are like a projection or like a hologram; you know you can shut the projector off any time and wake up, or you have some degree of control over your experience in the dream, like you can just flying away from it. Or if you are dreaming falling and waking yourself up before I even see the bottom let alone hit the bottom

In a vision it is much more realistic. One vision in particular comes to my mind. I saw myself standing on a grassy clearing that lead down to a small sandy beach on a lake. The lake was a brilliant blue with a summer breeze rippling the calm waters of the lake. It shone like tiny diamonds sparkling in the reflected sunlight. I could feel the cool breeze on my cheek as it ruffled my hair.

I breathed in deeply the fragrance of the wild flowers growing along the thickets at the periphery of the grassy clearing where I stood. I leaned against the trunk of a great pine and I could feel the coarseness of its bark on my back as I listened to the sighing of the summer breeze in the needles of its branches overhead and melodious songs of many different birds in the trees all around

Something that real is, I believe, either a very vivid vision or an out-of-body, like actually-being-there and  experiencing it like I was actually there in my physical body. Some places I have been at in visions have not always been necessarily of this world. I have seen many different worlds with many different magnificent and beautiful creatures that dwell there. Unicorns, dragons, fairies and hobbits? Or something very similar

Love,
Cynthia
