🌅🙏Good afternoon, everyone! I pray that you all be well, at peace, provided for, and be blessed🙏 🌅

There isn't much new going on here at the Newsroom, except that it was nice for my sister, Paula, and me to be together at nearly the same time, with nowhere to go on a grey Thursday. I like that - a National Do Nothing Day. Everybody in the world should have one of those once in a while.

We just relaxed sitting around the table, drinking coffee. We exchanged thoughts and ideas about what the dawn of the new age will bring. Then we went on to share our opinions on world affairs, the idiosyncrasies of the psycho Orange Jabba the Hutt, or how about an overinflated 10,000-year-old mummy with a gas problem about to go into rapid unraveling mode, Bizarro Man from Bizarromarica.

Then we summarized the conversation, discussing movie actors and actresses, old movies, and, of course, climate change. I pointed to the clouds and cool air outside and said to my sister, "Welcome To The New Norm, dear!" Might as well throw the air conditioner in the trash can.

DISCUSSION OF THE DAY:

EMERGENCY MODE, WHEN THE LIGHTS GO OUT:

For an emergency, we have one solar generator. We're considering getting a smaller solar generator for the bedroom, and we're also getting a Coleman stove, which will be used for cooking. Safe if you use it close to the open patio doors, that's where we have the electric barbecue anyway. We always keep five gallons of bottled water on hand. We will be looking for a Coleman stove tomorrow, and later, in the fall, we will be looking for a smaller solar generator. With a working refrigerator and freezer, we need not open the freezer often, and if we do, we have the smaller generator to plug it into.

And my friends, that's how you can turn your apartment into a fairly comfy survival mode shelter.

Preface: I remember several years ago that the best minds in Canada could only develop their careers by going south. I remember being told NASA, and Boeing scooped the best aeronautical engineers in Canada up after our government killed the Avro Arrow.

Now we have an opportunity to reverse that drain and supplement it it with the best minds from the US.

Me gusta eso: un Día Nacional de No Hacer Nada. Todos en el mundo deberían tener uno de esos de vez en cuando.

Simplemente nos relajamos sentados a la mesa, tomando café. Intercambiamos ideas sobre lo que traerá el amanecer de la nueva era. Luego pasamos a compartir nuestras opiniones sobre asuntos mundiales, las idiosincrasias del psicópata Jabba el Hutt naranja, o qué tal una momia inflada de 10,000 años con un problema de gases a punto de desmoronarse rápidamente, el Hombre Bizarro de Bizarromarica.

Después resumimos la conversación, hablando de actores y actrices de cine, películas antiguas y, por supuesto, del cambio climático. Señalé las nubes y el aire fresco de afuera y le dije a mi hermana: "¡Bienvenida a la nueva normalidad, querida!". Mejor tira el aire acondicionado a la basura.
