I was a little bit distracted this morning; I needed some Coffea, a genus of flowering plants in the Rubiaceae family, some species of Coffea beans, to lubricate the corpus callosum to fire up all cylinders in succession in my cerebral cortex. Good morning, everyone! It's a beautiful sunny morning here. It's a bit chilly, 30Β°F, but lovely here at The Tree House. I am enjoying a mug of coffee, which is actually my second oneβI haven't done that in some time. I am eager to get on with the day. My motto is, "If every day ends with a smile, cherish it because they are more precious than all the jewels and gold in the world."
Those memories are meant to be keepers, which you can visit on a rainy day. They come and go like the beauty and fragrance of early spring flowers.
There is always a shiny side to the same coin if you keep it polished. If you get what I mean.

In his first public response to the consumer outcry following the fatal shooting of one of his top executives, UnitedHealth Group CEO Andrew Witty said Friday that the US health system βis not perfectβ and that coverage decisions βare not well understood.β
βWe know the health system does not work as well as it should, and we understand peopleβs frustrations with it,β Witty wrote in a guest essay in the New York Times. βNo one would design a system like the one we have. And no one did. Itβs a patchwork built over decades.β
Witty also defended UnitedHealthcare, the companyβs health insurance arm, though he acknowledged that it shares some of the responsibility for the lack of understanding.

Labor minister asks Canada Industrial Relations Board to step into Canada Post contract dispute
55,000 postal workers remain off the job in strike that's lasted more than 4 weeks
Labor Minister Steven MacKinnon is sending the labor dispute between Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) to the Canada Industrial Relations Board.
MacKinnon said Friday that if the board determines negotiations between the parties are at an impasse, it has been directed to order striking CUPW members back to work under the existing collective agreement until May 22, 2025.
MacKinnon said that he hopes mail will begin flowing again early next week.

55.000 trabajadores postales permanecen sin trabajo en una huelga que ha durado mΓ‘s de 4 semanas
El ministro de Trabajo, Steven MacKinnon, estΓ‘ enviando la disputa laboral entre Canada Post y el Sindicato Canadiense de Trabajadores Postales (CUPW) a la Junta de Relaciones Industriales de CanadΓ‘.
