The land of whispering pines.
I had no sooner stepped out on the balcony this morning with my coffee and sensed the air felt different. It's like the actual calm before the storm type of thing. Calm mornings here are the usual run of things: quiet mornings and towards fall, serene in the morning and windy through the day.
Anyway, I decided to go back inside, and then the monsoon hit; I hadn't seen that heavy rain here last that long since we went to Toronto last month and when we were driving through the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania back in the summer of 2019.
It's scary when you can't see across the street, but for now, it has let up. I never liked bad storms, especially when I was alone. With someone else, I can at least practice my one-liners on Paula.
Thought For Today;
When you are walking in a cow pasture, you have to keep an eye on the fact that you don't step on the cow paddies. The aim of the news media today is only to make the most noise for enormous amounts of money, disregarding the right or wrong in their declarations.
So there is more bad news than good news, but why inflate the bad news? The old saying is that bad news sells more newspapers. And that, my friends, is why you have so many idiot Republican kiss-a$$e news agencies and podcasters. Soon, any regular, unbiased news media will become an endangered species, if not extinct.
If the sh-tbaggers get in, I am still hanging onto MSNBC for news reports, especially Stephanie Rhule and Lawrence O'Donnell, as the last stronghold, even if MSNBC has made errors in the past.
I only just get this feeling, though, that no matter what news agency you tune into, you will NOT! Get the whole truth, and if anyone persists on it, they end up on the unemployed lineup.
And here, we, the public, have our rosaries out and hands clasped, praying for the truth, eager to hear the good news, that we grab at every straw handed to us. WITHOUT THE RESEARCH.

La tierra de los pinos susurrantes.
Apenas salí al balcón esta mañana con mi café y sentí que el aire se sentía diferente. Es como la calma real antes de la tormenta. Las mañanas tranquilas aquí son lo habitual: mañanas tranquilas y hacia el otoño, serenas por la mañana y ventosas durante el día.
De todos modos, decidí volver adentro y luego llegó el monzón; no había visto que esa lluvia intensa durara tanto desde que fuimos a Toronto el mes pasado y cuando estábamos conduciendo por las montañas Pocono en Pensilvania en el verano de 2019.
Da miedo cuando no puedes ver al otro lado de la calle, pero por ahora, ha amainado. Nunca me gustaron las tormentas fuertes, especialmente cuando estaba sola. Con otra persona, al menos puedo practicar mis frases ingeniosas sobre Paula.

Cuando caminas por un pastizal de vacas, tienes que tener cuidado de no pisar los pastos de las vacas. El objetivo de los medios de comunicación hoy en día es solo hacer el mayor ruido posible por enormes cantidades de dinero, sin tener en cuenta lo correcto o incorrecto de sus declaraciones.
Así que hay más malas noticias que buenas, pero ¿por qué inflar las malas noticias? El viejo dicho es que las malas noticias venden más periódicos. Y esa, amigos míos, es la razón por la que hay tantas agencias de noticias y podcasters republicanos idiotas que lamen el trasero. Pronto, cualquier medio de comunicación regular e imparcial se convertirá en una especie en peligro de extinción, si no extinto.
