Good morning! I pray The Great Spirit be with you 🙏 🌅

My physical status is that I'm feeling normal again for now. Damned GERDs for the first hour I was up. Other than that, I'm doing fine again. There is a bigger fish to go after than little me right now. It was nothing that some coffee and a little spiff of MJ. Couldn't straighten out.

Previously, when I was in pain, I never stopped to think, 'Why suffer senselessly? I offer it to the Great Spirit for the healing of those who are in need. I'm not The Great Spirit or G-d, but then I feel, why should I suffer for nothing, put it to use in prayer and meditation for the healing of others?

As for the weather; what can I say, the weather is what the weather is, a carbon copy of yesterday and every other day except for a handful of days since last year's American giving day, and not one heck of a lot warmer either, it's been alternating between sweater and coat days. I just do the best of it, bright lights in the house, and put on a coat if I want to sit comfortably for a while in my green space. That's about it for me from the Newsroom for today.

I would like to begin the day by sharing with you,

VIVE LA RESISTANCE! MY HEART GOES WITH YOU TODAY & EVERY DAY!

"Sing It From The Heart!"

The anthem of the Resistance.

Just added some of my 'own' lyrics to fit today's mood😉

Friend, do you see the dark clouds of doom over our plains?

Friend, do you hear the muffled cries of our fellow citizens in chains?

Ahoy! Partisans, workers, and peasants, the alarm is ringing!

Tonight the enemy will enslave the commoner, white, black, red,

yellow, pink, blue, purple, etc, for the price of blood and tears...

What does he care as long as it is not he!

The Kink of Bizarromarica - Injun Giver & Chief Bent Feather

Come up from the mines, come down from the hills, comrades.

Get out of your straw hut, take to the streets,

Be brave, do not take up the guns and dynamite,

Do not take up arms, our cause is our defence.

Ahoy! Beware of those carrying arms, those with the bullets!

Ahoy! Injun giver & chief ornage face with bent feather

It will be the work of we, "we the people,"

We will break the chains for our brothers and sisters.

Hate at our heels and the hunger that will follow,

drives us forward for justice and freedom...

There are countries where people are free

and can dream of a better future in their beds.

Here, we, you see, we hide in the dark like convicts,

as they march in two by twos, wearing masks,

arms at hand, the form of a young soldier,

who marches and kills, nothing more than a panicked,

inexperienced child with a gun, following orders Chiefe Injun Giver.

Everyone knows what they want, what they do when they pass by...

Friend! No man, woman, or child is left behind.

If you fall, a friend (Erath Angel) will come out of the shadows in your place.

For those with empathy, your turn will come to return the favor.

Let it not be a tomorrow, congealed with dried blood on the roads in the bright hot midsummer day. Let it be a sunny and brilliant summer day of celebration and peace.

Lacking broad consensus, the onus falls on those still interested in co-operation

Fifty years ago this fall the leaders of France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States met in a castle outside Paris for three days of meetings, at the conclusion of which they issued the Declaration of Rambouillet, a 15-point statement of principles and commitments.

Noting that they were "each responsible for the government of an open, democratic society, dedicated to individual liberty and social advancement," the Group of Six said they had come together because of "shared beliefs and shared responsibilities."

The leaders pledged to "strengthen our efforts for closer international co-operation and constructive dialogue among all countries," "restore growth in the volume of world trade" and "restore greater stability in underlying economic and financial conditions in the world economy."...

As disinformation and hate thrive online, YouTube quietly changed how it moderates content

Change allows more content that violates guidelines to remain on platform if determined to in public interest

YouTube, the world's largest video platform, appears to have changed its moderation policies to allow more content that violates its own rules to remain online.

The change happened quietly in December, according to The New York Times, which reviewed training documents for moderators indicating that a video could stay online if the offending material did not account for more than 50 per cent of the video's duration — that's double what it was prior to the new guidelines.

YouTube, which sees 20 million videos uploaded a day, says it updates its guidance regularly and that it has a "long-standing practice of applying exceptions" when it suits the public interest or when something is presented in an educational, documentary, scientific or artistic context.

"These exceptions apply to a small fraction of the videos on YouTube, but are vital for ensuring important content remains available," YouTube spokesperson Nicole Bell said in a statement to CBC News this week.

But in a time when social media platforms are awash with misinformation and conspiracy theories, there are concerns that YouTube is only opening the door for more people to spread problematic or harmful content — *and to make a profit doing so.*

Good morning! I pray The Great Spirit be with you 🙏 🌅

Well, can't really say which it is out there, clouds? Smoke? I just only know that the yellowish or beige-looking sky is not a usual or very appealing look to the sky. It's more like heavy air pollution, mixed with Cirrus clouds. Or should I say cirrus smoke clouds, unlike the normal hazy days of summer type cirrus clouds, caused by a denser, moisture-laden, and dust particulate-saturated atmosphere that we are accustomed to seeing.

🙏 Prayer of the Day 🙏

Today, I can empathise and send prayers for the Great Spirit to protect those who are experiencing these out-of-control forest fires.

I've only seen one forest fire in my life, when I was around five years old, preschool age. Dad was a clerk for the lumber camp. I forgot the spelling, but it sounded like Calstock. The lumber camp was a large community, a village, located around twenty-odd miles from the town of Hurst, Ontario. I was in the back seat of the car, with my sister, mom, and dad in the front seat.

Dad was behind the steering wheel. We were driving on a dirt road with flames on both sides. I dared not touch the door handle or the windows; I could feel the heat radiating through the glass. That's enough of a close encounter with a forest fire for me in one lifetime, thank you, G-d. I vividly remember that one as if it were yesterday. Although I was scared, I don't think I truly realised or understood how close it was to ... I'll stop the story right there. I am here, and everyone else was OK.

That's enough for me from the Newsroom for this morning, now it's on with the Discussion for the day. Thank you for reading the news.

TODAY'S DISCUSSION:

Fear and Uncertainty

- Google Search -

Surviving fear and uncertainty involves a combination of psychological techniques, self-care practices, and focusing on what you can control. Mindfulness, self-compassion, and challenging negative thoughts are key to managing fear. Prioritizing self-care, connecting with others, and seeking professional help when needed are also crucial for building resilience and coping with uncertainty.

I agree with that when it comes to the regular type of stressors, such as the daily work-related stressors.

The Greatest Stressor in History - 2025 -

Pass the yo-yo, please!

The most significant stress today is the uncertainty of whether you will have a job tomorrow or get arrested just because you work for the federal government; "YOU'RE FIRED!" I believe the Orange Pus Bag gets his jollies out of that one. So now, he believes, we, the people, will find ourselves groveling at the feet of Kink Orange Pus Bag. So, back to SURVIVAL, at The Bottom of The Pyramid of Evolution.

Israel strikes Iran nuclear sites and military leadership as Middle East braces for retaliation

What's happening now:

• Israel attacks Iran:

Israel has launched unprecedented strikes on Iran, targeting its nuclear program and military leaders in an attack that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said will last many days. Israel’s military says it used 200 fighter jets. In retaliation, Iran launched over 100 drones toward Israeli territory, Israel’s military said.

Iran will have to retaliate to save face, former US State Department adviser says

Iran has no choice but to retaliate against Israel’s attack, US foreign policy expert and former US State Department adviser Vali Nasr told CNN’s Becky Anderson, adding that it may take the shape of a prolonged war of attrition.

Nasr added that if this attack was a tactic to bring Iran to the negotiating table, it is unlikely to work.

Washington has long sought to limit Tehran’s nuclear capacity, with the most recent negotiations in Rome last month ending with no agreement. A sixth round of US-Iran talks had been scheduled for Sunday in Oman — and it’s not clear if it will go ahead.

“Trump misunderstood Iran,” Nasr said, and now, “instead of talking, we’re going to see use of weapons as a tool in the negotiations.”

“This regime’s back is put to the wall. If it doesn’t respond, it will lose all credibility, it will be weak, and the Israelis are not going to stop,” Nasr said...

Appeals court pauses ruling requiring Trump to return control of California National Guard to state

A federal appeals court late Thursday paused a ruling that required President Donald Trump to return control of members of California’s National Guard to the state.

Senior US District Judge Charles Breyer had ruled that Trump unlawfully federalized thousands of members of California’s National Guard and must return control of the troops to the state by mid-day Friday. But the order from the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals puts that on pause.

Breyer’s ruling, nevertheless, is a significant win for Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, who sued Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth earlier this week after the president called the troops into federal service in the wake of protests in the Los Angeles area over Trump’s hardline immigration policies...

How Trump got the military parade he’s always wanted

Flying home from his first visit to Paris as president, an awestruck Donald Trump told aides aboard Air Force One that the military parade he’d just witnessed was one of the most dazzling spectacles he’d ever seen.

Get to work, he told them. He wanted one at home.

Eight years later, after several failed attempts during his first term, Trump will finally get his wish. The parade set to roll down Constitution Avenue in Washington, DC, on Saturday will amount to the largest display of military might in the nation’s capital at least since 1991, when a parade of tanks, troops and missiles marked the end of the first Gulf War.

The optics of Saturday’s event, celebrating the US Army’s 250th anniversary but coinciding with Trump’s 79th birthday, have not been universally embraced. During Trump’s first term, military officials warned against a show of force they said was more at home in North Korea than the United States...

Joy of Gaza aid boat's arrival turned to moment of fear, crew member says

Madleen expedition 'a movement of solidarity' with Palestinians, French doctor says

Dr. Baptiste André's shirt was still grimy when he walked out of the arrivals level at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris to a flurry of cameras, microphones and questions from journalists.

The French native was one of 11 crew members on the Madleen, part of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, and among the three — including Swedish activist Greta Thunberg — who signed deportation papers after the boat was seized by the Israeli navy on Monday before it could reach the Gaza Strip. (A fourth person, a journalist, also signed the papers.)

The coalition aims to break Israel's naval blockade of Gaza and deliver a symbolic amount of aid. Most of the enclave's 2.1 million people have been displaced by war, and malnutrition is widespread, the United Nations says. Israel has dismissed the aid boat as a publicity stunt

On the road to the G7 in Kananaskis, a popular wilderness retreat locks down

G7: Why there is hope of a Carney-Trump tariff breakthrough at Alberta summit

Trade is the 'make or break issue' as world leaders gather in the Canadian Rockies, says expert

Global trade will be a major focus at next week's G7 summit as world leaders gather in Alberta, including U.S. President Donald Trump, who will be making his first appearance at a major international event since returning to the White House in January.

Experts and ambassadors are expressing some optimism that this type of event could be a difference-maker in convincing Trump to reduce the amount of tariffs charged on imports to the U.S.

Any possible concessions on the trade front would be welcomed by countries such as Canada, that are facing economic hardship because of tariffs.

Good morning! I pray The Great Spirit be with you 🙏 🌅

This is me 🧚‍♀️ Lady coming to you, from the Newsroom. 📰

It's a gloomy morning, with gloomy clouds, 🌫 and gloomy temperature, and if I don't watch it, I could turn into a gloomy old prune with a bad mood, and I don't want to go there, thank you. "No nose plant fer me taday, Ma". Billy shouts to his Ma as he turns and runs into a telephone pole. "Pop!" 💥 I hate tripping on my lip; the floor is kind of hard on the schnoz. 👃 "C'mon.. humor me, smile a little, 👄 eh!" Just a little twitch upwards to both corners of your lips will do. That's from me to you for today. 💝 Be blessed. If I can't do anything else for anyone out there who needs a spiritual, emotional, or psychological uplift, I will be here. Humor was my best tool when I served as a social worker for the better part of 25 years.

There is not much else going on here at the Newsroom at the moment, so I will put away the hot air balloon for today and go on with the daily discussion. Thank you for reading the news.

Prayer For The Day:

Great Spirit Guide and Bless ~THE RESISTANCE - 2025.~

TODAY'S DISCUSSION:

RESISTANCE

Remember, I mentioned this way back last November, before the election. I called them the Earth angels; an Earth angel is anyone who has the potential in their heart to defend and save lives, regardless of the potential harm to themselves—the unsung hero, who could be anyone, including you. The demonstrator with the cardboard placards, with the political satire. They're just as interesting, if not more interesting, to read as watching the football commercials.

Just as Hurricane Trumpatica blows over, I pray 🙏 that we are all still holding hands and that sanity returns to the land of the true OZZ, where you go to build your dreams, the true land of opportunity and fairness for all.

One thing we are discovering during this catastrophic unraveling of the once most powerful and respected nation in the world is that it is unraveling like the bandages on a mummy. 😒

JUST HOW MANY HUMANITARIAN PROGRAMS DID THEY HAVE IN THE NATION CALLED THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA?

America had an incredible amount of empathy, with programs for service and care for other human beings. I cry 😢 at the thought of the ugliness of this man's actions. Hate, yes, but I do not pray for harm on this beast. I only pray that his Karma returned is expedited, and this fat snot-nosed liar and chief orange-face is driving the steamroller over the people like scurrying cockroaches. Doing it so rapidly, the courts can't keep up. At the very least, that's what I believe he's attempting to do.

We used to complain about too much of this, not enough of that, we should have had this, or more of that, nya, nya, nya, complain, complain, until the time arrived when we stoped and realised what has happened in the last 140 days and realised what we had that no longer exists. Everything that serves the public is going out the door. Medicaid and Social Security go out the door, too, if that cursed bill goes through. That's where the resistance should begin. 🪧 Not just lay it all on the judges, the people have to resist, resist also in support of the courts.

Now for the National News.

Trump is hyping a case to use American troops on domestic soil

Posing as a wartime leader, President Donald Trump is building a political case to use American troops not in a foreign conflict, but at home, to bolster his mass deportation sweeps.

But California Gov. Gavin Newsom, the Democrat who heads the state leading resistance to a president with a taste for unchecked power, says a long-feared moment of peril is at hand for US democracy.

In an emerging campaign with stark constitutional implications, Trump is conjuring a narrative of invasion and insurrection. He’s exaggerating disorder in the relatively contained unrest, looting and protests in Los Angeles. And he’s implying that, to keep the country safe, he’s ready to deploy soldiers across the country.

Trump repeatedly and falsely claimed on Tuesday that if he’d failed to dispatch the National Guard and US Marines to Los Angeles, it would be “burning to the ground.” The president also warned that he was looking beyond Los Angeles, as other cities, and states – especially those run by Democrats

Trump’s long-shot effort to fight hush money conviction

Five months after President Donald Trump was sentenced without penalty in the New York hush money case, his attorneys will square off again with prosecutors Wednesday in one of the first major tests of the Supreme Court’s landmark presidential immunity decision.

Trump is relying heavily on the high court's divisive 6-3 immunity ruling from July in a long-shot bid to get his conviction reviewed – and ultimately overturned – by federal courts. After being convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records, Trump in January became the first felon to ascend to the presidency in US history.

Even after Trump was reelected and federal courts became flooded with litigation tied to his second term, the appeals in the hush money case have chugged forward in multiple courts. A three-judge panel of the 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals – all named to the bench by Democratic presidents – will hear arguments Wednesday in one of those cases.

Trump will be represented on Wednesday by Jeffrey Wall, a private lawyer and Supreme Court litigator who served as acting solicitor general during Trump's first administration. Many of the lawyers who served on Trump's defense team in the hush money case have since taken top jobs within the Justice Department.

The days around Trump's trade war announcements saw spikes in lawmaker stock market transactions

In the days before President Donald Trump suddenly paused most of the punishing tariffs on foreign countries he had revealed in early April, more than a dozen congressional lawmakers were tied to thousands of dollars' worth of stock transactions, including significant purchases as the US stock market tumbled, a CNN analysis of financial filings shows.

Seven Democrats and three Republicans reported stock transactions made on April 7, two days before Trump instituted the pause, according to a CNN review of a database of congressional financial filings compiled by Capitol Trades, a platform by the financial data research firm 2iQ, which tracks lawmakers' financial activity. That day, a post on X erroneously suggested a pause was already underway, tumbling stocks and sending the markets into a state of turbulence.

The next day, on the eve of Trump's tariff reprieve, seven Republicans and four Democrats were tied to transactions, filings show. The White House announced that day it would impose hefty tariffs on China, and the S&P 500 closed at its lowest level so far this year.

15 senators took a $118K trip to Alberta. Some colleagues question its relevance

Taxpayer-funded' familiarization tour' included stops at Calgary Stampede, Lake Louise

The initiative was launched by Alberta Sen. Scott Tannas. In May 2024, he sent a message to his colleagues in the upper chamber inviting them on what he called a "familiarization tour" of his province.

The idea was simple, he explained. Many senators were unfamiliar with his part of the country and would benefit from a "come to know" visit to Alberta.

The trip, organized in collaboration with the Alberta government, featured several stops, including a visit to the Calgary Stampede, a meeting with members of the tourism industry in Banff, a day trip to the oilsands, and a tour of the province's grain and beef farms.
