Land of Whispering Pines 🌲

Good morning! May the Great Spirit bless you 🙏

I hope it's a good morning for all of you. I got up this morning not quite feeling up to doing anything except sitting on the couch like a sack of potatoes for half an hour and scrolling through my phone. Mother Nature called, and then I felt more like I was still among the living.😉 Well, it's like savoring the good times, man! 🫰Peace time ☮️ loving time 💞 happy times 💃 🕺 🧖‍♀️ ~♪♫♭~ Bright, sunny summer days time, butterflies and dandelions, in the field green grass and vibrant green trees, sparkling blue lakes and, oh! You gotta come dancing in the tulips with me!

How about simply using imagination? Have some Rainbow Stew and flower nectar wine. We only serve the house wine here. Leave your personal wine at home. Go with the mental cartoon, dream, aspirations, everything is possible in the land of cartoons and fantasy. To go with it is the only way to fly in the sky way up high. 💃 🕺 🧖‍♀️ ~♪♫♭~ 👼 😂 🤣 .

Aw! Come on, hun, take a break, and see if you can make the corners of your lips curl up, just a little. 👌

TODAY'S DISCUSSION:

Negative To a Positive

Continued from above:

How I handle the grey times (light depression) is as I mentioned above - there are different ways to do that. Visiting one of those peaceful places in my mind is a starter. From that position, I like to seek the humorous side of things in any situation, excluding death and all that other dark grey stuff. I'm talking about the other grey stuff, like having a rough day on the job, a spat with your partner, overdue bills, kids raising hell, neighbors complaining about your music, and other things. Calamities like losing your house, and in some cases, even losing your family and ending up on the street, no medical care or aid for the sick, the old, the veteran, or street people. HOW MANY WILL BE IN TENTS come this November? And no one yet has faced up to this maniac and gotten him institutionalized, is where that Orange puck should be, IN AN INSANE ASYLUM!

I can send sincere prayers for the unfortunate everywhere. That's not just words; they come from MY HEART. 🙏 ❤️

When I start to feel grey inside, I can usually dispel the greyness by allowing my mind to drift to a place of peace, often a happy time or a special place from my childhood. As for problem solving, I usually turn whatever is troubling me into a cartoon strip in my mind. That way, what is troubling me seems less problematic after making fun of it. 🤔 I love mind cartoons. 🐰 Anything is possible in cartoons, and you would be surprised how you can come up with an answer to the problem in cartoon land.😂 I believe they call it looking at things with a sense of humor.

BREAKING NEWS:

Republican plans to overhaul Medicaid are already shaking up the 2026 midterms

Senate Republicans have yet to finalize their version of President Donald Trump’s sweeping domestic policy proposal, but GOP lawmakers up for reelection in 2026 are bracing for the political impact of the bill’s Medicaid cuts.

Sen. Susan Collins of Maine is pushing for a provider relief fund. Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina has warned GOP leaders about how many in his state could lose care. And Sen. Joni Ernst of Iowa has picked up a crop of Democratic challengers campaigning off her “Well, we all are going to die” response to a town hall protester.

Tens of thousands of people could lose coverage in each of those three senators’ states, according to a KFF analysis on the version of the bill passed by the Republican-led House last month. Beleaguered Democrats, meanwhile, hope that laser-focusing on health care will help them chip away at the Republicans’ 53-seat Senate majority and take back the House. A key part of Democratic messaging has been to tie the Medicaid cuts, which would largely affect low-income Americans, to tax breaks for the wealthy.

The Congressional Budget Office estimates the changes would reduce federal Medicaid spending by roughly $800 billion over 10 years, largely by instituting work requirements for certain adults eligible for Medicaid and postponing a Biden administration rule intended to simplify enrolling and renewing coverage

“It is crazy politics for them to do this,” said Brad Woodhouse, a longtime Democratic operative and executive director of Protect Our Care, a health care advocacy group that launched a $10 million campaign this year to oppose Medicaid cuts. “Everyone is going to be unhappy with this bill, unless you’re a very high net worth individual: a millionaire, a multi-millionaire, a billionaire, or a large corporation.”

Many Republicans argued that the cuts to Medicaid are meant to sustain the program for those who need it most. They’re also betting the rest of the bill will be more popular...

President Donald Trump is using false claims to promote his massive domestic policy bill.

"M.F.!"

In a White House speech on Thursday, Trump falsely claimed Medicaid is “left the same” by the bill. In fact, both the version of the legislation that was narrowly passed by the House in May and the latest version now being contemplated by the Senate contain major Medicaid policy changes and funding cuts that are expected to result in millions of people losing insurance coverage.

Trump also falsely claimed that the bill includes “no tax” on Social Security benefits. The legislation would not actually fulfill Trump’s campaign promise to completely eliminate taxes on Social Security benefits, though it would temporarily give seniors a substantially bigger tax deduction. And Trump falsely claimed that “there’ll be a 68% tax increase” if Congress doesn’t approve the bill; there is no credible estimate of anything close to a 68% hike.

One caveat: since Congress has not yet sent a final bill to Trump’s desk, it’s possible that legislators will make major changes before the Senate votes. But Trump’s claims are inaccurate with regard to the House-approved version and the version senators are considering. Asked for comment on the president’s false claims, the White House provided an on-record response that touted the benefits of the bill but did not defend Trump’s specific assertions.

“The One, Big, Beautiful Bill is chock-full of the policies that the American people elected President Trump – and Congressional Republicans – to implement,” Here Is a Fact Check.

Confessions of a gun smuggler: Former trafficker reveals how she brought weapons into Canada

Ex-Montrealer Naomi Haynes shares the tricks of her trade, and her life story, with CBC News

Everyone knows guns used by Canadian criminals are often smuggled from the U.S. Not everyone knows how — not like Naomi Haynes does. That's because she did the smuggling. A native Montrealer who's been living in the U.S. for decades, she helped traffic dozens of weapons into Canada, some linked directly to drug gangs.

"I wasn't thinking about the havoc I was causing in my birth land," she told CBC News last week. "I've got my kids, I've got bills. The only thing I [was] thinking about is monetary gains. I wasn't thinking about the people who are going to be affected." CBC News established contact with Haynes while she was in prison — at first communicating by email, then with a glitchy prison video app and then in a lengthy interview following her release last year.

Her story helps shed light on the thousands of guns a year in Canada in the smuggling trade...

Good morning! May the Great Spirit bless you 🙏

I wonder how things are a-doin' in the Kink Orange Pus Bag's land of the drips and cockroaches this mornin'. I wonder whose sandwich those worms are trying to worm their way into this mornin'. That's Okay, they warsh it down with orange Kool-Aid.

I wonder what happens when one of his Gestapo-lets gets socked in the nose with a boxing glove with rock in it and goes home a cryin' to mama. Or, they have no ID and are carryin' arms? Any armed civilian not authorized to carry a weapon by law enforcement gets arrested for acts of terrorism. You've got to RESIST! Using the democratic law under the Constitution of America. Man! None of this shoddy, shady, manipulative, thieving, lying, sadistic sack of useless monkey sh-t.

Got that off my chest, God Save our Queen Elizabeth, she was an angel compared to this sack of monkey sh-t. Now that I have the last kick at the can, I can take my kicking boots off and go on with my day.

As for the weather! I was not impressed. It was cloudy and cool, so I wore my sweater and only sat long enough to have a couple of sips of coffee, listening to the birds as I enjoyed a little of the herb to loosen up for the day. The only other news from the Newsroom is that I am now here at the keyboard and ready to continue the discussion of the day. Forget the Russians, blame the weather on Trump; he and his minions are sure good at starting sh-t storms.*_

TODAY'S DISCUSSION:

RESIST TRUMP

HOW WE RESIST TRUMP AND HIS EXTREME AGENDA

By Congressman..

Since Election Day, many people have asked me what they might do to support those of us in Congress who are ready and willing to stand up and fight the Trump agenda.

My answer starts with a fundamental belief that the 240-year-old institutions of our government, in particular, our systems of checks and balances, were, in part, created with the precise goal of averting tyranny. These institutions can only function properly, however, when our country’s leaders work vigorously to ensure that they do, and when citizens remain fully engaged in the process.

Now more than ever, with a President-elect who threatens to undermine and even delegitimize those institutions—and in doing so, to damage the very soul of our liberal democracy—I implore everyone to help our country help itself.

We cannot wait four years to vote Mr. Trump out of office, as members of the GOP Senate and House Majorities have already stated that they will facilitate the Trump agenda, even if they weren’t supporters of his during the campaign.

So we must do everything we can to stop Trump and his extreme agenda now. We do this by:

1. Holding him accountable for the tenor and tactics of his campaign, as well as his

past and ongoing deplorable personal, professional and political conduct;

2. Waging fierce battles against every regressive action he takes—from personnel

appointments to his legislative program—in order to thwart or at least slow them

down;

3. Exposing his Republican enablers in Congress, and voting them out of office in 2018, with the goal of taking back either the House or the Senate for Democratic control.

To achieve this, we must keep our eyes on two important goals: depressing Trump’s public support and dividing the Congressional GOP from him and from each other. To understand how the public might help those of us in Congress achieve this, it is first necessary to explain what procedural tools we have at our disposal to resist him

legislatively.

The House of Representatives is set up to facilitate majority rule. This can’t be sugarcoated: we have very few parliamentary tools available to us if the GOP Majority seeks to minimize the Minority’s influence – and they will.

We have a few minor floor procedures like “discharge petitions,” and, usually, one floor amendment (the “Motion to Recommit”), but even these require some Republican support, which will be very hard to cultivate in this environment.

We will, of course, make the most of these and any other...

Trump’s ‘big, beautiful bill’ might be unloved and a mess – but it will still probably pass

President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” – which he on Thursday dubbed the “ultimate codification” of the MAGA agenda – is a paradox that shows how power works in a broken political system in which he’s the single greatest force.

As it stumbles through the Senate, the bill – which extends vast tax cuts, hikes border security funding and includes historic cuts to Medicaid – is perpetually on life support as chunks keep getting culled to fit the chamber’s budgetary rules.

Who can really say what is left in the bill after days of Senate wrangling? It’s barely recognizable from the one the House passed. That’s trouble for Speaker Mike Johnson, who is under great pressure to get whatever the Senate produces back through the House before Trump’s July Fourth deadline. As Republicans race to pass the bill, those in swing seats may be casting a vote that they can’t avoid but that could cost them their jobs.

It’s possible the measure could become one of those presidential vanity projects that lose the House majority, if Democrats flip the chamber in next year’s midterm elections.

The MAGA agenda measure has become imperative to Trump’s prestige. It’s too big and beautiful to fail. Trump is even more sensitive to such markers of success than most presidents. And recent history suggests his hold over the GOP base may cause most holdouts to cave in the end.

‘We are not safe in America today:’ These American citizens say they were detained by ICE

Elzon Lemus is always on the road for work, traveling from one place to another.

But ever since federal immigration officers pulled the electrician over as he was driving to his first job of the day earlier this month in Nassau County, New York, Lemus has been on high alert, limiting his travel around town out of fear, he said — despite being a US citizen. On June 3, Lemus says he was briefly detained during a traffic stop by federal agents because he resembled someone the agents were looking for, they told him and video from the encounter shows.

Lemus’ arrest, and other reports of American citizens being detained by immigration officials, highlights growing concerns over racial profiling and constitutional rights — for both the documented and undocumented — as the Trump administration’s broad mass deportation crackdown takes aim at people of all ages from children and families to suspected criminals by detaining people outside courtroom hearings, during traffic stops and in workplace sweeps...

The doctors make up the internal medicine department at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital — responsible for a wide range of critical services provided for both emergency patients and those admitted to the hospital. The letter says the doctors will not be performing any duties outside their contractual obligations — no evenings or weekends — starting on July 1, until their resignation takes effect on Oct. 1.

"It has become increasingly clear to them that continuing under the current model would further compromise patient safety and the already fragile well-being of the team," reads the letter, written by lawyer Kyle Rees of O'Dea Earle and sent to the provincial health authority's executive on Monday...

TREE HOUSE NEWS🏡

Land of Whispering Pines 🌲

Good morning! May the Great Spirit bless you 🙏

I got distracted on the way to the newsroom. I ran into my previous post about water on Mars. It stands to reason that if the planet once had abundant surface water, it had to have interior water as well, just like here on, or should I say, in the Earth. This article is interesting to me because I had already considered the issue about underground water on Mars since I was ten years old. There are many bodies of subterranean water inside our planet. Water tends to seek the lowest point of gravity. The concept is not new, but the previous posting certainly provides good validation.

- Google Search -

Water will always flow downhill, seeking the lowest possible point it can reach due to the force of gravity.

As for the weather, GLOOMY! The ☁️ need 🥾 in 👖; they also brought crappy cool 🥶 temps with them. At least the clouds made themselves useful; it 🌧 . At this moment, it's a quiet and peaceful morning here in the newsroom. I wish I could say it was the same everywhere for everyone, a calm, peaceful morning. Let us pause for a moment to pray and meditate. 🙏 Sit back for a moment, relax, clear our minds, and allow our thoughts to flow freely. Think of a tranquil place, anyplace that pleases you in your conscious memory or imagination.

TODAY'S DISCUSSION:

~ IRITATION STATION ~

The only irritation that gets me going is when I start and everything is going smoothly, then suddenly a mistype occurs; one mistype is all it takes. It's like tripping over a log, and I just keep stumbling afterwards, ending up in the swamp with the gators. 🐊 😁 I wish I could stop doing that! I'm going to run out of pants. 👖 😲 Enough cartoons for today, now on with the discussion of the day.

I know it has something to do with the stream of thoughts going through my mind, which moves much quicker than the physical fingers can keep up with. Maybe a speed typist could, well, at least with fewer misspellings and typos. The mind has already thought the letter you want to type, but the fingers are about three moves or more behind. Thoughts can get away from you like that, too. Never stop to correct a typo or spelling error while composing a stream of thoughts; the stream gets instantly vaporized.

- Google Search -

Focusing on the flow of ideas, rather than getting bogged down in minor errors, can help maintain momentum and prevent losing your train of thought.

Continue until you have reached the end of your train of thought, then go back and clean the mess. There's a delete button here; it performs the same function as the eraser on an HB pencil, which I used to carry with me to write down notes. Sometimes the mind gets confused, then lost. Nothing that a couple of puffs of the herb doesn't fix. Take a break, then come back, most times with a different perspective on the topic that usually turns out just as good or a better iteration. It's now time for the international news.

Senate to receive classified briefing as Pentagon says Iran strikes went as planned

What We're Covering:

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth defended the US strikes on Iran and forcefully criticized media coverage of early intelligence assessments of the impact of Saturday’s bombing run targeting Iranian nuclear facilities. The Joint Chiefs chairman revealed new details, saying that in the days leading up to the attack, Iran attempted to cover the main shafts of the facilities with concrete.

Capitalizing on rare unity, Iran’s supreme leader sends a defiant message to Trump

In his first speech since a ceasefire was declared between Iran and Israel, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei sent a clear message to US President Donald Trump: Tehran will “never surrender.”

The 86-year-old Khamenei, a target himself during the 12-day conflict, issued the pre-recorded statement from an undisclosed private location on Thursday. The leader has not appeared in public since Israel took out most of his military’s top brass and some of the country’s most prominent nuclear scientists in an unprecedented attack that deeply infiltrated the Islamic Republic.

Khamenei predictably declared victory over Israel and the United States in his address, but Trump’s call for “unconditional surrender” last week appears to have hit a nerve with Iran’s leader. Khamenei is a disciple of the 1979 Islamic Revolution that at its core aimed to preserve Iranian sovereignty against Western influence.

“This is not about our nuclear program. This is about Iran surrendering … In his statement, (Trump) revealed the truth, he showed his hand. The Americans have had a fundamental issue with Islamic Iran since our revolution.

Analysis: Pentagon offers new details on Iran strikes, but no new intel that nuclear program was "obliterated"

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s contribution at a Pentagon briefing was melodramatic but failed to offer “irrefutable” evidence that Trump promised.

But Dan Caine, the nation’s top military officer, offered tantalizing new information about the strike against Iran’s Fordow nuclear plant to reinforce the administration’s belief that it was severely damaged even if he could not yet prove it was “obliterated” as Trump claims. Caine’s apolitical manner contrasted with days of White House spin.

Hegseth fulminated at the media for seeking proof of the President’s claims that Fordow had been “obliterated” and mispresented their reporting. He also accused outlets of missing Trump’s achievement in getting NATO partners to commit to spending 5% of GDP on defense by 2035. In fact, the announcement got wide coverage, from which the administration’s own defensive outbursts over Iran detracted .

Caine offered insights into two Defense Threat Reduction Agency officers who studied the subterranean nuclear plant at Fordow for 15 years to plan the strikes and the crews who flew the B-2 bombers...

Trump is creating new universes of people to deport

The full scope of the Trump administration’s mass deportation plan – which has been evident in theory – is only just starting to come together in practice, and its scale has come as a surprise to many Americans.

This week, the Supreme Court blessed, for now, the administration’s effort to deport people from countries such as Cuba and Venezuela to places other than their homeland, including nations halfway around the world in Africa.

In Florida, construction began on a migrant detention center intended to be a sort of Alcatraz in the Everglades.

And CNN reported exclusively that the administration will soon make a large universe of people who had been working legally after seeking asylum eligible for deportation. I went to the author of that report, CNN’s Priscilla Alvarez, and asked her to explain what we know and what we’re learning about how the different stories are coming together. One thing that stuck out to me is how the totality of the administration’s actions is turning people who had been working legally in the US into undocumented immigrants now facing deportation.

The province is enabling qualified U.S.-licensed physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and registered practical nurses to start working in Ontario health settings before they register with the regulatory college.

They will be allowed to work for up to six months while seeking registration with either the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario or the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Doctors and nurses would still have to go through the usual immigration processes, and to qualify they must be licensed in their home jurisdiction with no history of misconduct or incompetence...

Land of Whispering Pines 🌲

Good morning! May the Great Spirit bless you 🙏

Well, it is cloudy 🌫 out there but pleasantly warm, like the typical kind of normal late June morning. I don't mind if we get a nice summer rain, but not one of those that stay stuck stationary over you for days like a bad case of constipation. "Sh-t And Get Off The Pot!" Yas kins' read the newspaper later, hun! 😆 🥹

Today, due to the residual heat from yesterday still lingering in the House, especially in the bedroom and spare room, which are closed, the closet crickets and moths don't need air conditioning, they don't pay for the hydro. We still have the AC on to lower the room temperature back down to the normal temperature, as outside.

🙏 Let us begin the day with a short prayer or meditation for those who are suffering. 🙏

Especially those under the thumb of the Orange Jabba the Hutt and his bunions.. er, I mean, minions of air heads, henchmen, AND, forget DOGE.? It should be changed to 'Thugs & Toadies Incorporated'; Don't call the police "CALL THE - T.T.I."

🙏 Or you may simply want to take a moment to meditate on finding a niche of peace and the inspiration required to reflect on the proceedings of the day ahead with organised, positive thoughts.

Ω ☮️ ~VIVE LA RESISTANCE!~ ☮️ Ω

TODAY'S DISCUSSION:

Thugs Toadies Incorporated

'Thugs & Toadies Incorporated' The T.T.I., in my opinion, is absolutely real and well. Perhaps under a different name, or it may all be encoded simply within DOGE, a pack of rats in a bag.

Then we have those masked ICE agents. Those greenhorns hiding behind a mask, some of them probably only kids who played too many video games, acting tough. How long before one of these amateurs has a mishap with firearms? It wouldn't surprise me if they even know how to safely handle and point one of those things, let alone use one. It'd be better if they blow their own toes off.

What if that crack head kid panics and really hurts a lot of people with that thing he or she has in their hands? Think about it. How long before an armed nation revolts in response? I pray to The Great Spirit, G-d, NOT! Someone has to stand up to the tyrant.

Any state representitive, governor, mayor, who pays attention and has control of their city police force should have them on active duty checking out these orangutans rag faces for proper papers, which is what these, never mind ICE, it's arse pics to them. "Ahhh", nothing like Karma.

I rest my case. I spoke into the mic and stepped down gingerly from the podium. Now it's time for the National News:*_

Trump says Iran needs oil money to rebuild, again signaling possible flexibility on US sanctions

President Donald Trump on Wednesday said Iran will need oil money to “put the country back into shape” and said he doesn’t have an issue with China purchasing their oil, signaling possible sanctions flexibility on Iran.

“Look, they just had a war. The war was fought. They fought it bravely. I’m not giving up,” Trump told reporters when asked whether allowing China to buy Iranian oil — as he said he’d like to see — would mark the end of his administration’s “maximum pressure” campaign on Iran.

“They’re in the oil business. I mean, I could stop it if I want to – sell China the oil myself. I don’t want to do that. They’re going to need money to put that country back into shape. We want to see that happen,” he said of Iran.

Why Kennedy’s overhaul of a key CDC committee could lead to ‘vaccine chaos’ in the US

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, or ACIP, will gather this week for its second regular meeting of the year, but this won’t be a typical meeting.

Two weeks ago, US Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has a history of vaccine skepticism, upended the independent advisory panel and its planned agenda. All 17 of the previous members were dismissed, and eight new ones were added. Presentation topics central to anti-vaccine activists’ arguments were placed on the schedule, despite studies and data about safety.

Ahead of Wednesday’s meeting, one of the eight new members, Dr. Michael Ross, withdrew during the required financial holdings review, HHS spokesman Andrew Nixon said.

The swift changes — and concerns that the committee lacks expertise and has potential conflicts of interest — are so concerning that some public health experts and officials said the country risks shifting into “vaccine chaos,” with different vaccine recommendations at work, inconsistent access, and uncertain insurance coverage.

Canada promises to spend 5% of GDP on defence by 2035 in pact with NATO leaders

Now there's pressure on Trump to commit to self-defence clause in exchange for funding boost

NATO leaders — including Canada — have approved a plan to dramatically increase defence spending across the Western alliance to five per cent of gross domestic product over the next decade, a decision that has given U.S. President Donald Trump a significant policy victory. They gathered behind closed doors in the Netherlands on Wednesday, where the final details and potential grievances were hashed out.

"As the global landscape shifts, the collective security created by the [NATO] alliance remains the strongest and most effective way of protecting Canadian sovereignty and protecting the security of Canadians," Prime Minister Mark Carney said in The Hague on Wednesday. "With our allies we must ensure that Canada remains strong, unified and ready to confront the threats not just of today but of tomorrow."
