Well, now here we are again; what's new at the Tree House Newsroom, you may ask? I think the clouds are a greyer shade of grey than they were yesterday.😆 😒 I think I just heard the bushel basket full of frozen B.S. hit the ground with a rather loud "plop!" I heard it from all the way from Mooseenee, so I did, I dare say.🤕

It might be grey outside, but it's sunny here with all the lights on, and I'm thinking about spring stuff. Soon, spring will spring up, and I can sit with my coffee in my green space at the patio table just before dawn when everything is still and silent except for maybe the gurgling of the creek when the water level is high. Then, I can watch the grand entry of a new day, with a bright sunrise on the Eastern horizon, and listen to the chorus of bird songs in the green leafy trees across the driveway.

Well, I suppose it's time to get back to the now. What should be the discussion of the day?

CEOs will often make gender diversity a priority—by setting aspirational goals for the proportion of women in leadership roles, insisting on diverse slates of candidates for senior positions, and developing mentoring and training programs—are frustrated. They and their companies spend time, money, and good intentions on efforts to build a more robust pipeline of upwardly mobile women, and then not much happens.

The thing is that this is still occurring to this day on the 31st of January of 2025. In my opinion, it has been the worst since the Cuba nuclear war crisis. President Donald Trump caught his own administration off guard last week by suggesting that the nation’s primary disaster response agency might simply “go away.”

Though Trump had routinely lambasted the Federal Emergency Management Agency throughout his third White House bid, he had stopped short of calling for its elimination. Now, an executive order bearing his signature has put that possibility in motion.

Exclusive: CNN obtains videos showing new angles of DC plane crash

Two videos obtained by CNN show new angles on Wednesday night’s midair collision above Washington DC. In the videos both aircraft can clearly be seen flying towards each other, then exploding and falling into the river after the fatal explosion. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

'The consumer carbon tax isn’t working; it’s become too divisive,' Liberal leadership candidate says

Liberal leadership candidate Mark Carney will abandon his party's consumer carbon tax and replace the policy with an incentive program that rewards Canadians for making green choices.

The former Bank of Canada and Bank of England governor will make the announcement at an event in Halifax later Friday morning. - CBC - News

"The consumer carbon tax isn't working; it's become too divisive. That's why I'll cancel it and replace it with incentives to reward people for greener choices", Carney said in a statement released to the media.

Muchos directores ejecutivos que hacen de la diversidad de género una prioridad (al establecer metas aspiracionales para la proporción de mujeres en puestos de liderazgo, insistiendo en listas diversas de candidatos para puestos superiores y desarrollando programas de tutoría y capacitación) se sienten frustrados.
