Land of the Whispering Pines
Well, it is the beginning of another beautiful day by all appearances. This morning, I feel like I am not carrying a hundred-pound packsack on my back, thanks to Kamala. I believe she rekindled a ray of hope in everyone's heart last night. I haven't checked the news yet. I like to relax, and the first order of business is for me to pontificate in the situation room at The Tree House News home headquarters. 
"Eka-ichi-nito!" in Martian for a good morning. As usual, it is nice to be able to simply walk out on the balcony in the morning in my nightgown and sit and sip coffee while enjoying the clean morning air and the rising sun.
Who can see me unless there's a Peeping Tom in the bush? Or the neighboring balcony to us, which is two apartments apart from ours. I haven't lived in a place like this since the homestead where I grew up. Now, if there were a small lake below the hill where the creek is, it would be like home.
I used to walk the two miles from here, four miles there and back, to the beach on Lake Ontario, but since I had trouble with the stomach and then came down with Covid, which messed up my stomach some more, I don't do much walking, I miss it. You can walk the same trail as many times as you want; if you are attentive to nature, you will see something different every day, almost like a different trail.

Israel has launched multiple strikes on southern Lebanon over the last day, including one which killed a senior Hezbollah commander.
Mohammed Qassem Al-Shaer, a commander of Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force, was killed in a strike on the village of Qaraoun in the western Beqaa district on Tuesday, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

Bueno, parece que es el comienzo de otro hermoso día. Esta mañana, gracias a Kamala, siento que no llevo una mochila de cien libras a la espalda.
