Good morning, everyone. I am a little late again, well, not really; I don't go by the clock on the wall; I go by the *me* clock. I'm just a little later than I would have liked, or as I usually start my morning, which is with a coffee in the Newsroom.π°
As for the weather, it's the usual grey clouds. No sunny side up, no chicken eggs, not even any chickadee eggs,πͺΊ one for you, one for you, and one for you, and it's too early to look for turtle eggs.π«’
We had freezing rain through the night, and I had to go out and de-ice my artificial plants; they were kind of drooping, you know, kind of like I felt when I got out of bed this morning. "Oh me, Oh my, wasn't that a party!" π« π₯ π So, I'm a droopin' on a droopy grey day on the farm when the farmerπ§ fell in the well; then all hell broke loose when Clarabelleπ€¦ββοΈ was a' ringin' the emergency bell.π Was she ringin' the dinger, or dingin' the donger, or clangin' the dangger? Anyway, it was loud enough for help to come for the poor farmer!
Thank you for assisting me once more with a little release of frustration, which I turned into humor. Using humor is one way I turn a negative into a positive.
There is not much more new in the Newsroom to report, so I believe I will move on to the discussion of the day.

*WHAT IS A MINDSET?
The psychological syndrome behind a mindset, in my own opinion: A mindset is basically made up of negative feelings and thoughts behind the scenes, like before or in the background, where you are undermining your effectiveness before you even begin taking action. That is what will trip you up and limit how effectively you can get through the day simply by thinking positively.
Even if you intend to do it right and effectively, that tiny voice in the background says, you can't do that! Who do you think you are?<- That's a popular one. Or how about, it's not allowed, or do they know better than me? I can't do it that way. I'll break my neck if I try that, or, I will fail! You sabotage yourself psychologically before you even begin the trip.

A Psychological Exploration of the Power of Our Mindset and Its Influence on Physiological Health
The brain is the control center for our bodies and determines our emotions, thoughts, and actions. From a psychological perspective, the mind can assist humans in manifesting a more remarkable life for themselves or hinder their abilities and result in unfulfilled potential. Considering the power of the mind, it is interesting to study the psychology of the mind and its direct influence on our physiological health.
In medical terms, this effect is known as the placebo effect. It occurs when the mind and body connect on a more substantial level and can help improve an individual's physiological health.
Anyway, it all depends on how our minds were wired as we grew up. What was the environment like in the home you grew up in? Are you consciously thoughtful, intuitive, and emotionally stable? Do you have a stable pattern of behaviors from a collection of good or bad mental savings accounts? Is information mainly formed by a learned pattern? Usually, the old patterns should be replaced by new outside information and then added to your newly learned behavioral responses.
BREAKING NEWS:
Bird flu variant found in Nevada cows shows signs of adaptation to mammals
The newer variant of avian influenza that recently infected dairy cattle in Nevada has a genetic change thatβs thought to help the virus copy itself in mammals β including humans β more easily, according to a new technical brief from the US Department of Agricultureβs Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service.
Itβs unclear whether these viruses pose a bigger threat to people, however. The CDC says the risk of H5N1 to the public is still low, although people who work on farms or who have backyard flocks are at higher risk.
The USDA report comes as a dairy farm worker in Nevada has screened positive for H5N1, the first human infection identified in the state. The workerβs symptoms include red, inflamed eyes, or conjunctivitis, according to a source familiar with the details who was not authorized to speak to the media. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is working to confirm the initial positive test.

Scores of firings have begun at federal agencies
Scores of firings have begun at federal agencies, with terminations of probationary employees underway at the Department of Education and the Small Business Administration, federal employees and union sources told -CNN- Wednesday.
The firings mark the first from the Trump administration as President Donald Trump and Elon Muskβs Department of Government Efficiency aim to dramatically shrink the federal workforce. Until now, federal employees across all government agencies had only been placed on paid administrative leave.
The move comes the same day as a federal judge allowed the administrationβs deferred resignation program to proceed. About 75,000 employees have accepted the offer, which generally allows them to leave their jobs but be paid through the end of September.

AND THE INSANITY CONTINUES, AND BELIEVE ME, IT'S CONTAGIOUS
Here I sit and cry. No matter how hard I try to see some sun rays coming out of the dark, brooding storm clouds, there is only rage, insanity, lies, and forked lightning coming out of that cloud hanging over the... not white anymore, The Orange House.
The more I see this great country being torn apart from the inside out, the more I feel powerless to do anything except cry and pray. But "We, The People," here in Canada, too, need to stand in solidarity, hand in hand, with our brothers and sisters, no matter what flag they wave.
And may HELL or HIGH WATER come; we hold hands and go contradictory to everything they try to impose upon us. If we don't have a job, why not go work for the farmer? Work for each other and with each other. If you're a carpenter, fix someone's house that needs it. Give groceries for clothes or clothes for tools, pay the doctor with goat's milk and eggs, sew someone's pants while he does your gardening, "not in his underwear either!" etc. Back to bartering if need be.

A tornado hit Columbia, Mississippi, Wednesday afternoon, damaging homes and businesses.
VIDEOS INCLUDED:
A tornado tore through the town of Columbia, Mississippi, shortly after 4 p.m. CST on Wednesday as severe thunderstorms erupted over the Gulf Coast states. The storm damaged several businesses in the town, according to WJTV. More than 70 power poles were broken in the area, causing power outages that crews were working to restore Thursday morning.
At least 20 homes were also damaged, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Our steel-gray days continue without a break for the sun. The 45-day weather forecast says there will be 45 more days, so bring your own sunshine.
Cindy's observations about a mindset are almost always true. I've worked with enough people in my career and as a volunteer to see they allowed an outside force to dictate their thinking.
Some feared making decisions, starting a new venture, or doing anything outside their norm of hiding because they feared the "committee of they." "What will they think, say, or do if I do this or that?"
Some had their self-confidence taken from them in their youth by an authority figure telling them they could not do anything, something, or most things. Their upbringing left them with an image of never being able to climb to the first rung of the ladder of success because it was not meant for them to succeed. The world was stacked against them, so be happy at the bottom.
But a few who began their adolescence with a negative mindset asked, "Why do I need to go on like this?" they gave no authority to the "committee of they." They couldn't find any chains that couldn't be broken to hold them in their lower status, so they began to find ways to improve their lives. Over time, they climbed and enjoyed the position and things their work had earned for them.
I found some excellent advice about mindset, self-confidence, integrity, honesty, and dealing with life's events, written by wise men in the late 19th and the first half of the 20th Century. All of them were written for youths or men, but I haven't let that keep me from adopting and using their wisdom in my life. Below is something I recall reading when I was about 11 or 12. My dad gave it to me. He knew I paid no mind to gender being a determinant of success,

Let's take a minute to scan the scenery. We have bird flu. Bird flu jumped to cows, then to humans. That reminds me of how Covid-19 spread. America had a new administration that has taken every weapon of mass destruction possible to the departments of the Executive Branch of the government; Cabinet secretaries are manifestly unqualified for their positions. Career civil servants are being sacked or strongly urged to leave the civil service.
The muskrat crows about all of the fraud, waste, and abuse found, but no numbers corroborate these statements. Trump is playing "musical tariffs" without a care in the world how that will influence any nation's economy, including America, as he and Putin prepare to carve up Ukraine.
Greed is king, humanity has been banished, the poor and hungry starve since USAID has been closer by the richest person in the world, and so it goes on The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.
Sleep well, children. You know who's on watch.
