Well, it is a beautiful sunrise in a much bluer sky than I've seen in weeks. 🏖 The day began again like I lassoed a train and ran alongside it, pulling on the rope to keep the train from going off the tracks into the swamp full of alligators. First, the jug of water for the water cooler ran dry. I stopped at the fridge on the way by to get milk for cereal, an empty jug of milk, okay. Back to the first job: change the water jug. I started making the coffee, pushed all the buttons in the wrong sequence. Then, thank you, Lord! I got lucky, and Paula was up, taking over a couple of the ropes while I reeled back in my sanity. 🎣 I went back to the fridge for a fresh bag of milk to have with my cereal. Honestly!
I felt like I was stuck in the Lucille Ball Movie, THE LONG, LONG TRAILER, and I was Lucy in the trailer while it was moving! AN ACCIDENT LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO HAPPEN! OUCH!

So many physical abilities decline with normal aging, including strength, swiftness, and stamina. In addition to these muscle-related declines, there are also changes that occur in coordinating the movements of the body. Together, these changes mean that as you age, you may not be able to perform activities such as running to catch a bus, walking around the garden, carrying groceries into the house, keeping your balance on a slippery surface, or playing catch with your grandchildren as well as you used to. So I am discovering that it is not my imagination. The Cerebral Cortex is working 100%. The problem is that the physical, reflexes, and coordination are a bit off or delayed due to issues with synapses.
Action-reaction is messed up, for example. Since I was little, I have always had a bad habit of banging my elbows in doorways. I can remember my mom telling me to walk with my wings tucked to my sides as it would save me a lot of wing-whacking in doorways. I never learned to tuck my wings in, and as I got older, it became more frequent to the point where I have permanent bruising on my elbows. Same with walking; nothing's wrong with my legs, but a little more fat on them wouldn't hurt. However, I need a cane for balance.
So, with more prosthetics, like glasses to see my cellphone, a cane, a heavy coat in the winter, and a purse, the more incapacitated I feel by too much stuff and no place to put it all when I go out. It's easier to simply stay home in the winter, and unless I'm really sick, the doc can forget about appointments after fall until spring, unless I am so ill they need to carry me out in a stretcher. NO BUG-INFESTED doctors' offices during the fall and winter months for me. Twice bitten by COVID-19, I stay away. Not as much wisdom as it is a survival instinct and sanity for me.

Well, now that I've watered the artificial plants, not the plants themselves, but the moss at the bottom, it's real moss and it's thriving. I even have tiny ivies growing out of it. I wasn't planning on real plants growing. 🌿😁
White House hasn’t ruled out Zelensky being in Alaska during Trump-Putin meeting on Friday
A diplomatic scramble unfolded Saturday after President Donald Trump announced he would meet his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, next week in Alaska, as European leaders rushed to understand the terms of the meeting and ensure Ukraine was not being left out of discussions about its future.
In the English countryside Saturday, European officials presented their case to Vice President JD Vance in a hastily arranged meeting. The leaders of several European nations said afterward that while they supported Trump’s diplomatic efforts, any peace talks must be preceded by a ceasefire and Ukraine itself must be actively involved.

Hostage families call for nationwide strike as Israel prepares to escalate war

Families of Israeli hostages kept captive in Gaza are calling for a nationwide general strike next Sunday, in protest of the Israeli security cabinet’s recent decision to expand the war and take over Gaza City.
“We are shutting down the country to save the soldiers and the hostages,” said the relatives of the hostages in Tel Aviv. They were joined by the October 7 Council, which represents bereaved families of soldiers who fell at the start of the war.

A history of the White Huse Rose Garden
A place for diplomacy, major announcements, celebrations, a wedding and even rare private moments, the White House Rose Garden has a storied tradition as a historic site in the backyard of a home that is also a workplace and museum.
President Donald Trump’s summer renovations to the Rose Garden – paving in a grassy space to make it more like the patio at his Mar-a-Lago club – mark the latest iteration of a space that has evolved over time.
“It has fulfilled John F. Kennedy’s vision of a garden that would endure and whose atmosphere, with the subtlety of its ever-changing patterns, would suggest the ever-changing pattern of history itself,” Rachel Lambert “Bunny” Mellon, who designed the modern Rose Garden during the Kennedy administration, wrote in 1983.
Gardens at the White House date back to the John Adams administration, with a redesign overseen by President Thomas Jefferson. Then in 1902, first lady Edith Roosevelt oversaw the installation of an ornate “colonial garden” on the west side of the residence, the site of the modern Rose Garden. In 1913, first lady Ellen Axson Wilson redesigned the garden to include hedges and roses.
But President John F. Kennedy envisioned the modern-day Rose Garden during a trip to Europe, calling on Mellon, a longtime friend, to design it when he returned stateside. Mellon drew inspiration from Magnolia trees outside New York City’s Frick Museum, Thomas Jefferson’s garden notes, and other National Park Service gardens, and the project was completed at the end of 1962.

Grant Kilian likes to move fast between the tall blue recycling bins he sorts through, in Vancouver's West End alleys.
Time, but more accurately, cans are money here. The faster you can fill a bag, the faster you can get paid at the return depot. A big garbage bag full of beer cans, some of which he says he crushes, at 10 cents a pop, could earn Kilian about $30 in tax-free cash.
As he puts it, it's just a bit of extra money for food, bills or cigarettes when everything feels tight. "I don't do crime or steal, so it's just an honest way of making some extra money, and I'm pretty good at it. I can make $50-$60 in a couple of hours", he said.
"We have a rise in poverty and a rise in inequality," he said.
