If I continue to improve, I believe that all the time I was ill before and after the teeth extraction, and then my partner wasn't feeling her best either during that time, a little correlation there, maybe.

It appears I have survived the worst of it, and I'm relieved of that. I was thinking all kinds of scary stuff. I know I have GERD, and I believe the flu kinda flared up the symptoms, making them seem like my stomach was in its death throes. The weakest point in my body is my stomach. Another thing we don't want is to privatize medical care, in which the Province pays doctors for all of the procedures you may need. For some procedures with long waiting times, you go to private providers, and some thief catches on really quickly how to steal a few extra bucks by billing the Province and the patient, too. Private is OK for people who have money. If it were all that good, there would not be any problems with the cost of healthcare in America, where they fear having a healthcare system like Canada's because, to them, it's socialism.

Person of interest in custody in Brown University shooting after CNN witnesses police activity at hotel
What We Know So Far
• A person of interest is in custody in connection with yesterday’s shooting at Brown University, officials said this morning. The shooting, which happened during a final exam review session at the private Ivy League university, left two students dead and nine others injured.
• A law enforcement source says the person of interest was detained at a hotel in Coventry, Rhode Island. A CNN crew saw a large police presence gather at the hotel before officers moved in on a room, banging on the door and calling for the person to come out. Coventry is a town outside Providence, where the university is located.
• The community can “breathe a little easier” this morning, the Providence mayor said. A shelter-in-place order has been lifted for the campus, where all remaining classes, exams and projects are canceled, according to the university...

At least 11 killed in shooting which targeted Australia's Jewish community at Bondi Beach

• At least 11 people have been killed in a shooting targeting the Jewish community on Australia's Bondi Beach, police say. The attack took place as hundreds gathered to celebrate the first day of Hanukkah, and has been declared a terrorist incident. The victims include an Israeli citizen, according to the country's foreign ministry.
• Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese described the attack as "an act of evil, antisemitism, terrorism that has struck the heart of our nation" and said that "an attack on Jewish Australians is an attack on every Australian." Israeli officials reacted with horror and anger, with several accusing the Australian government of allowing a surge in antisemitism.
