TREE HOUSE NEWS 🏡

Land of Whispering Pines 🌲

Good day! May the Great Spirit bless you 🙏

Well, it is 10:50 am, and the sun is trying to peek out from the grey clouds. Here I sit in the Newsroom, not sure where to go next. I took my time this morning, even sat outside in my Green Space for a bit, of course, with my coat on. It's just so relaxing to listen to the morning silence out there; all I could hear was a dog barking in the distance and a couple of little winter birds peeping at each other, and a blackbird cawed back somewhere in the trees across the drive.

As I sit here, I am thinking about how uncomfortable everything is after having lost 10 lbs. My clothes don't want to hang right, my fingernails and bones are brittle from all that stomach acid. I am now taking calcium tablets and a pill to help with its absorption and my bone density. So everything, physically, is sensitive. Just leaning my back on a straight-backed chair feels uncomfortable on the bones.

I also feel a sharp pain if I just brush against, not even hit, just brush a bony part against something, not even hard enough of a contact to be aware of it. Then I wonder where the bruise came from. So, I am more than ready to get those damned teeth out of my face so I can, at least, pray that I begin the post-dental healing process.

First on my agenda will be to build up my appetite and do regular exercise. But I can't do that if I'm a suffering, beaten, quivering piece of meat, scrunched uselessly in the corner of the couch like a frightened mouse. I can't regain the weight I lost. So to make it short, even when not in pain from the teeth or the GERD, I feel all those little discomforts, and also throw in the occasional bloating. I don't know where I'm a' goin', Ma, but it appears I'm going there in pieces.

Like ya will never get an elephant by the tail through the eye of the needle, backwards. You will have to deliver it on the other side of the eye of the needle, one subatomic particle at a time, or in very skinny spaghettified form 🫕 Or very skinny pretzels 🥨 But that little red pain devil sure has me preocupied a' dancin on those red hot coals. I shout, waving my fist, "Just wait until I get off this treadmill of coals! I'll git yer little red butthole with my meat grinder! 🥩 ⚙️ NO MERCY on that pain in the butt! 🏹 (‿ˠ‿) I'll CHASE THAT LITTLE RED 👹 PAIN IN THE BUTT WITH MY TRUSTY MEAT GRINDER🥩⚙️ from Hell through Purgatory backwards then back to HELL 🔥 again. Ya know, like Wimpy 🐽 🥩 ⚙️ 🍔 in the Popeye The Sailor Man Cartoons.

"L 👀NY TUNES, ♪♫♭ THAT IS!" Most of this homespun stuff about me is mostly, I pray, useful for the reader or just plain entertaining. I don't look for comments. If I get some, I appreciate it. But hearts, Views, and post reach mean a lot to me; just knowing someone is reading keeps me going.

As for the personal stuff: I am only sharing my feelings, thoughts, and emotions, like one would in a diary, my online diary, open to you. I share my opinions on what I know about current events, personal and national, which helps a lot in getting it off... as they say, off my chest. A pressure relief valve ⚙️ Above all, I enjoy informing and entertaining people, sometimes both at once. 😱 😁 👩 I have a blog full of the things I've shared over the years. Also, Facebook: that group is the next oldest to the blog. All the other Social Networks are relatively new, like in the past year.

Text messages and a moved SUV: How the government’s case against a Chicago woman shot by a Border Patrol agent fell apart

A wide grin was plastered on Marimar Martinez’s face Thursday as she thanked her attorneys outside an Illinois courtroom and told reporters, “I’m just blessed. I’m happy.”

“It’s been hard,” she said. “I can’t sleep, but now I’m gonna go sleep.”

A judge – after an extraordinary reversal by federal prosecutors – had just dismissed the charges against Martinez, a United States citizen who was accused of ramming the vehicle of a Customs and Border Protection agent in Chicago before he shot her several times. The ruling from US District Judge Georgia Alexakis came after she repeatedly raised concerns about the handling of the investigation, including the revelation the vehicle of the Border Patrol agent who shot Martinez was moved 1,000 miles away after the incident and text messages showing the agent apparently bragging about the shooting.

  • Apparent bragging text messages provide insight:
  • Key evidence was moved 1,000 miles away:

‘Oh my God, this is our Tanzania’: CNN investigation shows police fatally shooting protesters, signs of mass graves

In the chaotic aftermath of Tanzania’s disputed presidential election last month, police and gun-wielding men on patrol shot at groups of protesters, many of whom appeared unarmed or were holding only rocks and sticks, a CNN investigation has found.

Geolocated videos from the scenes, audio forensic analysis of the shots fired and first-hand accounts from witnesses and victims document the brutality unleashed on young demonstrators following the re-election of President Samia Suluhu Hassan – who claimed she won with 98% of the vote on October 29 after barring her chief rivals from the presidential race.

Videos verified by CNN also support witness reports about the deadly toll of the post-election crackdown, showing morgues overflowing with scores of bodies. Additionally, satellite images and videos show recently disturbed soil consistent with reports of mass graves in the Kondo cemetery, north of the East African country’s main city of Dar es Salaam. Two human rights groups and witnesses interviewed by CNN say the bodies of protesters killed in the past few weeks have been buried there...

Zelenskyy says Ukraine may face 'very difficult choice' as U.S. gives deadline on peace plan

U.S. proposal said to contain many of Russia's longstanding demands

Ukraine may face a hard choice at a pivotal point in its almost four-year fight to defeat Russia's full-scale invasion, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told Ukrainians in a national address Friday, pledging to hold constructive discussions with Washington on a U.S. peace proposal.

The U.S. plan contains many of Russian President Vladimir Putin's longstanding demands, including Ukrainian territorial concessions, while offering limited security guarantees to Ukraine. It foresees Ukraine handing over territory to Russia, something Zelenskyy has repeatedly ruled out, reduces the size of it army and blocks its coveted path to NATO membership. U.S. President Donald Trump in a radio interview on Friday said that he wants an answer from Zelenskyy on his 28-point Ukraine plan by Thursday, but says an extension is possible to finalize terms...

Potentialities and Science

The term "potentiality" in science refers to the unrealized ability or tendency of a system to change, as seen in physics with potential energy or in biology with a cell's potential to differentiate. It's a state of possibility distinct from actuality, realized when that possibility is realized through a change in energy or form. The concept can also refer to the capacity of scientific fields themselves, like "scientific potential," which describes a field's ability to grow through research and innovation.

What are visions, seeings, premonitions, instincts, intuition, even the process of thinking the words 'foreboding, spooky, or scary' or feeling negative about something can and will upset your apple cart for the day, guaranteed, indeed, me dear. That also works for the positive side, too. The positive side is just a little harder to access because of all the negativity constantly all around us, like seagulls at the dock at lunch time.

The negative is constantly trying to put a damper on the brighter side of life by demanding 99.9% of our attention, blinding us so we don't have time to miss what we don't have. Life is just survival, like the folks in Gaza.

All of this fills me with feelings that just plain don't feel right, but if I don't listen to the inner voice, things usually don't come out very well or things begin to fall apart emotionally, then the worst happens "POOF!" like Cinderella's glass slippers, "GONE.". If our dreams are being stolen from us, then we are no longer free. *Dreams And Potentialities.*

So, to varying degrees, it is inherent to the human senses, a part of nature. It only "then" depends on whether you believe in your inner being, what you feel and believe inside, and what you wish to know is already within you; it only depends on whether you BELIEVE and how much you practice it.

Washington on tenterhooks for next steps in Epstein saga

The drama, emotion and shock of Congress’s sudden demand for transparency on the Jeffrey Epstein drama has ceded to uncertainty and suspicion that President Donald Trump will try to wriggle off the political hook.

The victims of Epstein, an accused sex trafficker, have tragically seen justice postponed before. They’d been quick to warn after an unprecedented Republican revolt against Trump on Tuesday that it was just one more step in their long quest for vindication. Their wisdom was obvious once the euphoria of their triumph began to clear.

Washington waited all day Wednesday to find out that Trump had signed the bill passed with a 427-1 majority in the House and waved through on unanimous consent by the Senate, which had no desire to be drawn into the president’s self-inflicted political crisis. The measure requires the Justice Department to release all investigative files, documents and other materials about Epstein, with some exceptions, within 30 days of it becoming law. It’s hardly surprising that Trump didn’t rush to sign it, since, despite his late embrace of the legislation, it repudiated his weekslong bid to keep the evidence secret.

Trump was in a box. Any presidential veto was likely to be overturned, judging by the congressional majorities for the bill. But now his Justice Department — in theory at least — is bound to implement it. Any foot-dragging or obstruction would certainly worsen already disastrous public disapproval of his handling of the issue and would only fuel the question that got him into his current mess: What is he trying to hide?...

INSIDE JEFFEREY EPSTEIN'S WEB OF POWER, REVEALED IN NEW EMAILS

They are titans of industry and best-selling authors, world-renowned scientists and banking moguls, top-tier journalists and political power players.

In message after message, they often turned to the same man for advice, for connections, and to banter and trade gossip about President Donald Trump.

That man, Jeffrey Epstein, was already a registered sex offender after a 2008 conviction for soliciting prostitution with a minor – but that did not seem to deter his pen pals, some of whom even looked to him for guidance on avoiding their own sexual scandals.

Those messages were laid bare in extraordinary fashion last week when the House Oversight Committee released more than 23,000 pages of records obtained from the estate of Epstein, who died in a Manhattan jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.

The messages have been heavily scrutinized for new revelations about Epstein’s relationship with Trump – and indeed, show that Epstein relished talking about their one-time friendship as Trump rose to political power, offering his opinions on everything from the president’s sanity “f***ing crazy” to who should be in his Cabinet...

In starkly revealing terms, the emails show personal conversations between American luminaries and a man they knew to be a sexual predator and yet still trusted for access, advice and friendship.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday angrily dismissed a question about the 2018 murder of Jamal Khashoggi, claiming the Saudi dissident journalist was “extremely controversial” and insisting the subject was only raised during his meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to embarrass his visitor.

“You’re mentioning somebody that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn’t like that gentleman that you’re talking about. Whether you liked him or didn’t like him, things happen,” Trump said in the Oval Office as he presided over a pageant-filled visit for the de facto Saudi leader.

Trump went on to insist Prince bin Salman — who the CIA assessed likely ordered the murder — wasn’t involved. “He knew nothing about it, and we can leave it at that,” Trump said, turning toward the crown prince...

Land of Whispering Pines 🌲

Good morning! May the Great Spirit bless you 🙏

Still not feeling the best, but I took an extra-strength anti-nausea pill. It has gotten me through this part of the morning feeling stable enough to do my morning thing. I am so looking forward to being normal again and getting up when the sun comes up; that's the best part of the day. The silence of the early morning is golden.

So far, I have gotten through this part of the morning without vomiting. I do believe I have a mild case of the flu, which is causing the GERD to flare up. I think I caught it in one of those butthole crowded waiting rooms at the doctor's office. If I didn't have to see doctors during Bug Season, it would make it much easier to deal with my GERD without catching an effing bug. Again, like I have said on other occasions, if it's minor, get over-the-counter pain relievers and stay home. I see my doctor only when it's severe enough and persistent enough that I require a doctor's advice.

BUG SEASON - H2N2 & COVID 19

My Personal Advice:

IF YOU LIVE IN ONTARIO 🍁

I see a doctor only if I need to see one, like if I'm seriously ill, need a prescription change, or have follow-ups. As for updates and checkups, I got that situation under control with my physician. Updates and checkups every six months during the warmer weather, when the bug is minimal. I get blood tests done at home. I pay the fee for in-home service. Otherwise, I avoid those tiny bug-infested rooms like they were a BUG CHAMBER!

Changing rooms, washrooms, eye doctors, dentists, motor vehicles offices, insurance companies, banks, etc., little rooms you can't hardly breathe in unless you inhale a whole colony of bugs, even with a mask on, I know I caught it twice while wearing a mask. Bug Chambers <- How more fitting a description: to avoid like the plague, literally. My only advice is: **avoid** whatever needs a lot of sitting around and waiting, in those bug-infested waiting rooms. Try to get that paperwork done during the warmer months, when everything is well ventilated and there are fewer bugs, or do it online if you can.

It's like they are giving out the COVID-19 and the flu bug like giving out candy to kids. Again, I must suggest that you get your SHOTS before the bug seasons, or as soon as they are available. That is the safest and fastest way to protect yourself during each season. My best advice, unless it's serious, STAY AWAY FROM DOCTORS' OFFICES or other tiny rooms DURING BUG SEASON unless you TEST POSITIVE for the Covid-19 bug, then, first, call your pharmacy and order some Paxlovid. You should be able to get it delivered to your home if you're sick in bed.

It might be a good idea to allow anti-vaxxers to live together in their own communities to curb the spread of COVID-19 and the flu. That won't happen, so strict avoidance of "Buggy People" who don't believe the bug exists or will not take a vaccine is a good idea. Tough luck if you get the bug and didn't get a shot, blame it on your own Samurai Dumbness, Dumdum! 🗿 And I don't feel sorry for you or give a damn about you either, as it appears you don't give a 💩 and a half about us either.

Anti-Vaxers,

"Huh?" "Eh?" "Ha!" "Aha!" "Oh!" "Hein? Bien oui, non?" "чтó?" "Hmm, Vielleicht!" "Aaniin?"etc.

Asked again,

By not getting the shot, you are showing us arrogance and ignorance towards science, YOU KNOW BETTER THAN THE DOCTORS, you who are the ones with the IQ of a bunch of maggots. Not to mention the fake science saying they put foreign objects like micro-spyware in vaccines or something to that effect. Then you catch it, and you get sick, and YOU 🫵 don't seem to have any compunction or give a crap about passing it on to us. Well, my dears, Go To HELL! 🔥 👹 And I'll leave that topic at that.

FBI and Justice Department struggle to beat back conspiracies their leaders once fanned

When the FBI director came back from Asia touting a major win for the administration’s drug crackdown last week, his victory lap was cut short by yet another development in the Jeffrey Epstein saga.

When Patel took the podium in the White House press briefing room Wednesday, the news of the administration’s efforts to stem fentanyl production — a major priority for the president — took a backseat to headlines about the latest dump of documents by the House Oversight Committee. For Patel and other FBI and Justice officials, the first 10 months in office have featured a series of headaches, with theories once peddled by the president’s loyal supporters-turned-government officials getting in the way of their new priorities.

The FBI declined to comment for this story...

Canadian snowbirds say U.S. politics are ruffling feathers and changing their migration patterns

CBC News visited Florida to speak to snowbirds, politicians and businesses about changing travel trends

The sunny weather. The beach views. The relaxed lifestyle. These are the things that drew Jo-Ann Rowe to South Florida.

When the Toronto woman retired 10 years ago, she started spending her winters in Fort Lauderdale, renting a condo for three months. Being in the United States was familiar for Rowe, whose grandmother was American, and because she’d travelled throughout the U.S. as a young athlete. “It was just gorgeous,” Rowe said of her home away from home, which also became a place of comfort and refuge when her partner died. Friends and connections she had made there eased the pain of her loss...

TREE HOUSE NEWS 🏡

Land of Whispering Pines 🌲

Good morning! May the Great Spirit bless you 🙏

I will not be on for long today as I was ill again all morning. I believe that this time I have a stomach virus (flu) complicating things. In the afternoon, it appears to fade away somewhat.

There isn't much happening here in the Newroom today; it pretty much seems to be the same as the outside world, with everyone happily chewing on an air sandwich.

TODAY'S DISCUSSION:

PROJECT 25

I had hoped that it would not go so far as to necessitate a discussion about what lies ahead if the Trump 2025 plan is allowed to manifest itself, or, instead, if the cancer is left unchecked. It may not be limited to just America; it appears that numerous democratic countries are in unrest these days. Are we being overtaken by a WORLD WIDE REGIME?

Are we all being stricken by the same cancer? Something like Fascism, but if America is an example, it will be more like an authoritarian or Nazi like regime, and even Nazis had rules and regulations, order, a government, but of course, changeable at any time by the great leader's desire. The Trumpo one has what? No government, just the rich, the leaders, and their Dunce Cadets, they are the "Queen ant," and the poor, the rest of the peasants, are the worker and slave ants, like in an ant colony?

I can't see it being anything that has the potential for the good of all in this 💩 fricasse, making it more complicated, not better for the regular folks. It's given us only pain and misery. That's what you voted for!

Have you heard of a GOOD REGIME ushering in the good through the suffering of others? If so, please share your information!

But if it's ushering in the good only for the elite, to receive its benefits, YOU HAVE REACHED G-D HOOD.. It's all about greed, hate, theft. "Only little people pay taxes." Leona Helmsley, Billionaire New York Hotelier

It seems the only requirement for special treatment from the president is if you join the Pedophile's Club. Ask Ghislaine Maxwell.

Trump administration latest: House vote on Epstein files looms as US tensions grow with Venezuela

• Epstein files: President Donald Trump encouraged House Republicans to vote this week to release more files related to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein — a stark reversal in the president’s position as momentum grows in support of the effort in Congress.

• Political breakup: Meanwhile, Trump is feuding with GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, once a staunch ally, who told CNN the rift “has all come down to the Epstein files.” Greene is among a handful of Republicans who are adamant about releasing the documents.

• Venezuela tensions: Trump has yet to make a decision on whether to attack Venezuela on land, officials tell CNN, as the president hints a window may be opening for diplomacy. This comes after the US increased pressure on the South American country over the weekend, saying it will designate a Venezuelan cartel as a foreign terrorist organization.

This hidden canyon in the Mediterranean teems with whales and dolphins. But it’s under threat

Sardinia, Italy

One thousand meters (3,281 feet) under the Mediterranean Sea, a crab tangled in plastic is fighting to crawl across the rocky sea bottom. At 240 meters (787 feet) down, an entire population of bamboo coral is being choked by fishing gear.

These are some of the sights Italian marine biologist Ginevra Boldrocchi witnessed during a deep-sea exploration to the subaquatic world known as Caprera Canyon. Found in the rough, blue waters spanning some 20 to 40 kilometers (12 to 25 miles) off the coast of Sardinia, Italy, Caprera Canyon is a vast underwater valley that supports a variety of marine life and helps keep our oceans in balance. ...

Inflation rate ticks down to 2.2% in October, mostly due to falling gas prices

Excluding gas, inflation came in at 2.6%, same as September

Canada's annual inflation rate edged down to 2.2 per cent in October, largely due to gas prices falling at a faster pace, Statistics Canada said on Monday.

Pump prices fell at a rate of 9.4 per cent in October, after falling 4.1 per cent in September, as drivers switched to cheaper winter gas blends and crude prices came down "amid continued concerns of oversupply," the data agency wrote. When excluding gasoline, inflation came in at 2.6 per cent last month, the same as in September.

The details of the inflation report "were a tad on the disappointing side," wrote BMO chief economist Douglas Porter, "as lower gasoline and food prices were a big reason for the moderation, while many underlying prices ticked up."...

Rogers clients complain of customer service nightmare, spending hours on hold to resolve simple issues

Frustrating customer service experiences due to lack of competition, weak protections, experts say

When Anil Sedha decided to cancel his Rogers business internet service, he expected he’d go online, click a few buttons and be done. But the customer support link was broken. A chatbot told him he could only cancel by calling. Thus began what the Winnipeg man estimates was a seven hour ordeal spread over several weeks last summer, trapped in a maze of hold music, dropped calls and endless transfers between departments.

“It was a non-stop theme of ‘We are having a heavy call volume,’ ” said Sedha. “I tried calling at different times of the day and on different days.”...
