Land of Whispering Pines 🌲

Good morning! May the Great Spirit bless you 🙏

At least the sun has returned, and it's much milder out this morning. A picture-perfect August morning, the lazy, hazy days of summer are nearly over. By next week, it will drop to the high 60s to a maximum. 75°F

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OZrNDtRltg

The first day of school, which some children dread and others look forward to, is a chance to meet up with their schoolmates once more after the summer holidays, meet their new teacher, and learning a new curriculum. What a pity that one ignorant educational hater, the ORANGE PUS BAG, is trying to turn OUR schools into work camp training schools. Don't You Know? Don't forget. DON'T FORGET you elected this Orange Beast, and now you owe your soul to the company store.

TODAY'S DISCUSSION:

A REPUBLICK:

The corporations are taking over, for now, for how long? Even corporations need a legal and controlled trade market; if not, it's chaos time, and Trump, for some insane reason, loves his bizarre idea of being king of what will eventually fall apart into a third-world country. Welcome to 18 and 64 folks! The Orange Pus Bag, or, rather, his adviser, whom I also think is a nutcase, but has more brains than "F'n" Orange Face, doesn't even have an inclination on how to begin setting up a Nazi regime. Even Putin's regime and his oligarchs are organised, trained, and follow instructions, working for the state, the state being Putin. Yes, working for the state, not the people. I'm a Canuck and I have known that since public school. A REPUBLIC...

*- Google Search -

  • Republic:

A republic is a form of government where supreme power rests with the citizens, who typically exercise this power through elected representatives. Unlike a monarchy, a republic does not have a monarch or hereditary ruler; instead, its chief of state is usually a president or similar figure elected by the people. The term "republic" comes from the Latin phrase res publica, meaning "public thing" or "public affair," highlighting that the government serves the common good of the people.

It's the Same For Canadians.

Except that Canada is a parliamentary democracy and a constitutional monarchy in the Westminster tradition.

All of our laws were" much the same judicial system. Our cross-border trade was like the border was an invisible line that no one really paid much attention to, except for the waiting time to cross it.

If you have a NEXUS, you could go through almost casually, like I loved exchanging jokes with the Border Security personnel on the way through.

Now, being a Canadian, they may send me to Guantanamo. You know that Pesky old witch from the TREE HOUSE NEWS. He loves witch hunts. I got a curse or two for him, and if that's not enough, I could always say "mas" in French.

Now, for a short look at what insanity has been unleashed since yesterday.*_

FBI conducts search at John Bolton’s home as part of resumed national security investigation

The FBI conducted a court-authorized search at John Bolton’s home as part of a national security investigation into whether he disclosed classified information in his 2020 book, according to two people familiar with the matter.

CNN observed FBI personnel at President Donald Trump’s former national security adviser-turned-critic’s house in the Washington, DC, area. They were seen speaking to a person on the porch of the house, and at least four to six agents were seen going inside.

Some of the agents took bags out of the vehicles to bring inside, but nothing was seen coming out of the residence. The FBI had also planned to search Bolton’s office on Friday morning, according to a source familiar with the investigation, though it was unclear when that search would be conducted. CNN saw several unmarked federal vehicles outside Bolton’s office building in downtown Washington on Friday morning...

GOP governors are sending troops to DC. Their states have 10 cities with higher crime rates

At least ten cities in states whose Republican governors are deploying National Guard troops to Washington, DC, had higher rates of violent crime or homicide than DC last year, according to a CNN review of FBI data.

Governors from Ohio, Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina and West Virginia announced this week that they’re sending troops to assist President Donald Trump’s crackdown on crime in the nation’s capital. Violent crime was already falling in DC, though it still ranks 17th among major cities.

In the past week, Trump federalized DC’s police force, surged federal law enforcement agents into the city, and deployed the DC National Guard.

Military officials said there were nearly 2,000 soldiers and airmen mobilized in DC as of Thursday afternoon. Governors from the six states previously said they’re contributing about 1,000 troops. And yet, their home states have cities with worse crime rates than DC – like Cleveland, Nashville, and Jackson, Mississippi, which was No. 1 in homicides per capita last year...

Gaza City suffering a ‘man-made’ famine that’s likely to spread, UN-backed initiative says

Parts of Gaza are officially experiencing a “man-made” famine, according to a Friday report by a United Nations-backed initiative, which added that the situation is expected to worsen after months of relentless conflict.

The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) found that famine has been confirmed in the Gaza Governorate, which includes Gaza City, now also the site of a major new Israeli offensive.

“As this Famine is entirely man-made, it can be halted and reversed,” the report said. “The time for debate and hesitation has passed, starvation is present and is rapidly spreading. There should be no doubt in anyone’s mind that an immediate, at-scale response is needed.”...

TREE HOUSE NEWS 🏡

Land of Whispering Pines 🌲

Good morning! May the Great Spirit bless you 🙏

Well, the weather forecast was supposed to be sunny.

My observation is that if it remains cool and cloudy, I fear that the short summer spell we had is coming to an end sooner than it should; the past few cool, overcast days are a good indication of that. Feels more like early fall, like October—about a month and a half sooner than usual. Other than that, there is not much more to report from the Newsroom this morning, except for a minor conflict, which was not intentional, but just happened, and I thought I would share it with you all this morning as a topic for discussion. It hurts when people don't understand.

With fall just around the corner, the trend will be more cloudy than sunny. If that's the case, we are going to have a bugger of a winter, longer than usual. The rebound effect is one that few, even environmentalists, would think about. An instinct, if you may. I am beginning to believe that La Niña and El Niño are fighting each other for the last throne in the environmental kingdom of Nature. I wish more people in this world could simply feel things, you know, just know something by feeling what they are observing. Reading a book and feeling the emotions of the character as if you were experiencing the story through their eyes. Or not only observe the flower but feel what it feels.

I'm just like anyone else; I have a short fuse, and I get angry. I feel all the emotions that others feel, and then some. However, not many people in the general population understand me too well. When I'm upset, I have no intention of dumping it on anyone else; my only purpose is to vent. Then, most people get upset or nonplussed because they don't get the drift.

I sometimes entertain the idea of carrying a boxing glove with a brick in it, but I would not hurt a fly, literally. 🪰 I am nonviolent and nonconfrontational.

I have a short-term memory for the mundane, but for the building blocks that got me to where I am, nothing is forgotten. Some of the data that is stored in my memory can be recalled vividly in detail. However, I have a slightly heightened awareness of details, the energy emitted by every living thing, and I sense the emotions and feelings in that environment as if they were my own.

The entire reason for this small inventory of my own experiences with emotions and feelings of an Empath is to share my belief that THIS COULD BE A WAY TO END ALL WARS. And it's not that hard to learn to be in harmony.

Consider this and strive to live a little more harmoniously each day.

Take a Moment for Prayer And Meditation 🙏🙇‍♀️

Russia carries out its biggest attack in more than a month while accusing Ukraine of not being interested in peace

Russia launched its largest drone and missile salvo on Ukraine in more than a month, Ukrainian authorities said Thursday, as Moscow accused Kyiv of not being interested in a “sustainable, fair and long-term settlement.”

Nine civilians were killed in the strikes as well as in shelling in eastern Ukraine, officials said. The attacks come just days after US President Donald Trump held a meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska, followed by a White House summit with Zelensky and European leaders, in pursuit of an end to the conflict.

But since then, there have been few signs of tangible progress. Russia’s foreign minister poured cold water on the idea of a leaders’ summit and security guarantees for Kyiv, saying that the Kremlin won’t accept the placement of any foreign troops in Ukraine. In its overnight attack, Russia launched a total of 574 strike drones and 40 missiles on Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky said Thursday, hitting as far west as the city of Lviv...

Kremlin pours cold water on bilateral meeting

Moscow’s comments, meanwhile, have openly contradicted the White House narrative that plans for a bilateral meeting between Putin and Zelensky are “underway.”...

Rip currents are still a risk for the East Coast today. Here's what to watch for

Rip currents are strong channels of water that flow away from the shore, often forming at breaks in sandbars and close to structures like piers. Tropical systems also cause them as they stir up the ocean. There’s a high risk of rip currents along much of the East Coast today and tomorrow thanks to Erin. Here’s what to watch for, according to the United States Lifesaving Association:

  • a narrow gap of darker, seemingly calmer water between areas of breaking waves and whitewater:
  • a difference in water color:
  • a line of foam, seaweed or debris moving seaward:
  • a channel of churning, choppy water:

Good morning! May the Great Spirit bless you 🙏

Well, I kind of feared that would happen, these cruddy grey clouds would forget to leave and get stuck on top of us. Now, after teasing the heat wave away, we have this cloudy, damp, cool air.

The weather right now makes me feel uncomfortable, much like the subhuman shock wave colliding with other shockwaves, triggering other subhuman shockwaves; not unlike the lightning bolts flashing out of the roiling storm clouds overhead, threatening to disintegrate you with one flash. How can we navigate around this American mess and look after our own as one?

That can be done through NATO if they can just get the guts to pull the plug on America. America is no longer an ally. If America chose to fly the swastika on the Statue of Liberty, so then be it. The Constitution no longer exists, thus, Nazism.

It's as stark a difference as black and white, like chalk on a blackboard, no ifs, buts, or shades of grey. What is going on now is a genius playing an idiot like a fiddle, as if he were Putin's fiddle, Trump dancing to Putin's fiddle, as he takes America with him! AS OBVIOUS AS DAY AND NIGHT! Trump worships Putin, so where does that leave us? If you can't see that you're legally blind, you'd better get a guide dog before you start bumping your nose into walls. End of that discussion, it's time to WAKE THE "F" UP PEOPLE!

_*When I dig around on Google, I would be very relieved if I could find a solidarity movement in America, but nothing has yet come up. It almost seems that our American Democratic public representatives are all in some kind of brain shock, a stunned phase they haven't recovered from since the Trump election.

Then they allowed themselves to get kicked in the shinbones by Trump's big beautiful bill, and then they all made a face plant into the dirt. And now they stand like ostriches with their heads in the ground. They haven't even twitched since then, except for California governor Gavin Newsom, and I do pray that he remains strong to give the weaker ones the incentive to RESIST Kink Orange Pus Bag. Either keep resisting the crooked, demented pretender to the presidency or tell him to pull his pants down so you can kiss his stinky arse, diaper and all.

The motto of the State of New Hampshire is Live Free or Die. There is no other option. I am quite certain he can't choke everyone's wallet into non-existence. It's up to those who have the means to ensure the Orange Pus Bag cannot choke, and also to be welcomed among the ranks of the Freedom Fighters. Vive la Résistance!

Freedom Fighters. Vive la Résistance! America 2025

The phrase "Freedom Fighters. Vive la Résistance! America 2025" is a call to action, likely referencing resistance to a perceived threat to freedom and justice in the United States in the year 2025. It combines the English phrase "Freedom Fighters" with the French rallying cry "Vive la Résistance," meaning "Long live the Resistance," suggesting a movement against a powerful force. The year 2025 may indicate a specific period or context for this resistance, potentially tied to political events or policies in the United States at that time.

The "resistance" in this context is likely a reference to a broad spectrum of individuals and groups who oppose actions or policies they view as harmful or unjust...

Pierre Poilievre's (brief) exile is over. Now what?

For Battle River-Crowfoot to be the 'most important' byelection in history, much depends on what happens next

In fundraising appeals sent to supporters ahead of Monday's vote, the Conservative Party billed Battle River-Crowfoot as the "most important by-election in Canadian history."

It was at least the most important byelection in the history of Pierre Poilievre. Not that the winner was ever in much doubt. In attempting to regain a seat in the House of Commons — a chamber he first entered in 2004 at the age of 25 — Poilievre chose one of the safest ridings for a Conservative. In April, the Conservative candidate in Battle River-Crowfoot won with 83 per cent of the vote...

  • Can a byelection halt Poilievre's slide?:
  • Meet the new Poilievre, same as the old?:

Whether Poilievre himself has to change has been a much-discussed question since at least the middle of this spring's election campaign. He has said that he's not for turning, but it's perhaps possible to see small hints of a slightly different approach.

 Moon quotes

My name is David.

I’ve spent most of my life telling the stories of others—of birds, forests, oceans, and dying species.

And today... I sat in silence.

No camera. No crew. Just me.

And for a moment, I wondered if anyone truly understood how heavy these stories have become.

Today, I spoke of a rainforest that no longer exists.

I watched footage of a glacier I once stood upon... now vanished.

I read another report of species gone forever—creatures I once met, face to face.

I've witnessed the most breathtaking wonders of our world.

But I've also seen its slow unraveling.

And sometimes, it hurts more than words can hold.

Sometimes... I simply sit, and grieve.

I don’t ask for awards.

I don’t ask for praise.

But if it’s not too much to ask—maybe someone, somewhere, might whisper:

'Thank you, David.'

And maybe, just maybe, I’d feel a little less like I’m mourning this planet alone.

Good morning! May the Great Spirit bless you 🙏

Well, folks, it's not as muggy out; actually, it's a little cool. Half clouds, half sun - the fascinating thing is that, after yesterday's rain, it seems to have cleared the air a lot. Everything looks almost sparkly, and the leaves on the trees are vibrant green. The air is crisp and blue, and all is very still, as if Mother Gaia herself were holding her breath; silence, except for a few birds.

Mornings like this are the perfect time to connect the spiritual with the physical, find inner peace, and be in harmony with nature. Even if it is only for a few seconds, it's a much more positive way to begin the day. It sets the mood for the day, so that even if the train gets off the tracks, you are better equipped, *composed, and concentrating* to engineer a way to get the train back on the tracks without getting more lost in the swamp of confusion.

I made the coffee and had my cereal, then my sister joined me for coffee, and now I'm about to move on to the day's discussion.

TODAY'S DISCUSSION:

There's no such thing as a 'coolcation' — you'll be sweating buckets on your Arctic getaway

There used to be places to go to escape the heat on our summer vacations. You could venture to Norway to see its world-famous fjords. A trip to Scotland for a temperate round of golf. Visiting Sweden's Lapland could bring you face-to-face with reindeer.

But the Arctic's icy grip is loosening as the planet warms, and these cool, far-flung destinations are becoming increasingly vulnerable to heat waves.

  • Extreme heat: has roasted tourists across southern Europe from Spain and France to Italy and the Balkans in recent years, but the unusually high temperatures spread way north this summer. Legitimate heat waves have struck countries more synonymous with snowy, frigid weather in the winter and cool summers: Sweden, Finland, and Norway.
  • Wildfires have erupted across Europe and Canada:

Lavrov says Rubio liked his “USSR” sweater at Alaska summit

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov claimed that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told him that he liked the “USSR” sweater he wore ahead of Friday’s summit in Alaska.

Lavrov caused a stir last week when he arrived at a hotel in Anchorage wearing a sweater emblazoned with “CCCP” - the Cyrillic letters for the Soviet Union. Speaking to Russian state media Tuesday, Lavrov said the US delegation in Alaska reacted to his choice of attire without “any hysteria,” and that Rubio even said that he liked the sweater.

Pro-Kremlin commentators were delighted with Lavrov’s outfit, which seemed intended to hark back to Russia’s time as an imperial power during the Cold War. Olga Skabeeva, a state television host, shared a picture of Lavrov’s sweater saying: “The sweater! USSR! The best!!”

But, speaking Tuesday, Lavrov downplayed his sweater’s symbolism.

“I think there is no imperialism here, no attempts to revive imperial thinking, as some in the West like to say, we are not talking about that,” Lavrov said. “We are talking about the fact that there is history and this history needs to be preserved, including, if you like, with a sense of light humor,” he added...

He added that, from the Ukrainian side, “President Zelensky said that he is ready to meet with President Putin without any preconditions. And I think it’s a good manifestation that-that we are ready for a peace. But definitely not the peace on the any conditions for any price.” ...

The union gave few details on the agreement, but said it does guarantee ground pay for their members — something that's been a major sticking point in talks so far...

  • Some cancellations expected in coming days:
  • Binding arbitration had been rejected:

Inflation slowed to 1.7% in July, but food prices rose at faster pace

Prices for gasoline also down 16.1% year-over-year, according to Statistics Canada

Inflation cooled in July, thanks largely to relief at the gas pumps, but Statistics Canada said grocery and shelter costs were accelerating last month. The annual rate of inflation fell to 1.7 per cent in July, the agency said Tuesday, down from 1.9 per cent in June and just slightly below what economists were forecasting.

Costs rose 3.4 per cent annually at grocery stores, up from 2.8 per cent in June. Confectionery and coffee products saw big price jumps in July, which Statscan said were tied to tough growing conditions in countries that produce cocoa and coffee beans...

Spiritual Evolution:

Spiritual Evolution: Spiritual evolution refers to the concept that consciousness or the spirit undergoes gradual development over time, potentially mirroring the evolution of biological systems. It suggests a journey from a more basic state of being towards a higher, more enlightened or spiritual state. This concept often explores the idea that individuals and potentially humanity as a whole are on a path of growth in their understanding and experience of spirituality.

*My Personal Opinion:*

This is how one should have come to understand spiritual evolution. Physically, with the aid and advancement of science, we have evolved into a more disease-resistant species.

But what about growing and evolving psychologically in a lifetime? Excluding Alzheimer's and dementia, I have noticed and personally learned from observing the growth or decline of others that the pattern is similar: overconfidence can blindside you, and making bad choices can set you back in the physical world, but the psychological aspect is that you have just learned a lesson. Or not.

If they are mentally unable to know and understand within their heart where they went wrong and how to correct it, perhaps there is redemption. Once over the stumbling block, they continue to grow and evolve towards the, for lack of a better description, the light at the end of the evolution of consciousness.

And that sums up the discussion for the day. I hope that at some point in the future, I will have the privilege of exploring this topic further. I pray that the thoughts I have shared with you above are helpful in understanding spiritual evolution. The following discussion will explore spiritual evolution in its various phases, from the biblical gods and legends of ancient historic times to the latest concepts in quantum mechanics.

Most scientists prefer not to mix science with spirituality. Still, since I don't have a doctoral degree, I need to worry about Harvard revoking my affiliation, so I can express my theories using both.

Donbas: The object of Putin’s desire and the crux of the war in Ukraine

Much of the discussion around a potential deal to end Russia’s war in Ukraine has centered around a part of the country’s east that has long been at the heart of Russia’s goals.

The Ukrainian regions of Donetsk and Luhansk – collectively known as Donbas – were an industrial powerhouse in the Soviet era, a place of coal mines and steel mills. But the region also has rich farmland, important rivers and a coastline on the Sea of Azov.

Federal labour board deems Air Canada flight attendants' strike 'unlawful'

Federal labour board deems Air Canada flight attendants' strike 'unlawful'

Air Canada employees and union members protest outside the airline's headquarters in Montreal on Sunday. It comes after the federal government intervened in the labour dispute between the airline and the union representing Air Canada's flight attendants, ordering binding arbitration and operations to resume

The independent tribunal that administers Canada's labour laws has deemed the strike by Air Canada's some 10,000 flight attendants illegal and is ordering workers back to the skies. In a decision released Monday morning, the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) said the defiance of a back-to-work order on Sunday by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) is "unlawful."

The order calls on the union to "cease all activities that declare or authorize an unlawful strike of its members and to direct the members of the bargaining unit to resume the performance of their duties" by noon ET...
