Senate GOP leaders turn against Trump - Capital plunges into open party rebellion

Senate GOP leaders turn against Trump - Capital plunges into open party rebellion

πŸ”ΉAI Overview

Based on reports as of early 2026, the Republican Party faces intense internal division, with some Senate GOP members expressing strong dissatisfaction with President Donald Trump following specific, undisclosed actions, leading to accusations of "total access" desires regarding foreign resources. This, paired with historical, long-term divisions (e.g., 2017, 2021), suggests a recurring, deep-seated, and at times public, fracture in party unity PBS.

  • Internal Rebellion: Reports show that even prior to 2026, key figures faced intense pressure and calls for accountability, indicating ongoing, deep fissures in the GOP structure PBS.

  • Shifting Alliances: The party has struggled with its post-Trump identity, with some members questioning the long-term viability of his, and his allies', approaches to politics, particularly in suburban areas.

  • Public Confrontation: Recent, sharp criticisms from GOP senators, with reports highlighting expressions of shame and intense, direct conflicts between party members and the administration, are intensifying these divisions.

The situation reflects an ongoing, intense, and public conflict between various factions within the Republican Party in early 2026.

Well, it's another one of those days, snow on and off, and miserably cold as I said a couple of days ago, I ain't a leaving this shack until mid April, when Mr. Jack Off Joe Snow and winter winds are done a-blowin'.

The Tree House News is brought to you by me, Cynthia. My user/avatar is The Fairy Lady. My mission is to share the NEWS THAT MAY NOT BE UPDATED through regular News Networks.

For example, with the Dangerously INSANE NAZI ORANGE DOLT IN CHARGE, the World News is getting more bizarre and crazier to the point it doesn't make much sense anymore. There isn't anything in the U.S. that resembles the norm I grew up with and can still understand as usual. Sometimes it's easier and quicker to check the news through - AI - Google Search - instead of the regular News Sources.

I have no Idea how you can play checkers and chew gum at the same time without rules and regulations, which means that while playing the game, you should stick your gum on your forehead for good luck. But Trumpo, the Dangerous Dolt, thinks he can king all of his checkers then turn and throw everyone under the bus, get everyone else's checkers with his Kinks!*_

TODAY'S DISCUSSION:

NAZI AMERICA:

Now, there are no laws and no rules.

Only the law of ONE remains, that of The Orange Kink of Bizarro Land, The Old Dolt with Tertiary Syphilis Brain Rot. Now, even some of you MAGAt people still have a sense of values. If you know what the word values means, then you also would have some awareness of a rudimentary sense of understanding values that tell you what feels right or wrong. But in denial of what you genuinely think is buried in Fake News People, conspiracy theorists, and heretics, lying politicians, crooked judges and lawyers, lawlessness is the norm of the day. As for me, the empathy was always there; I just didn't listen to it. I didn't listen to my intuition or feelings too well, except for the negative ones.

So I kept repeating the same errors, stubbing my toes against the wall of resistance by making the wrong choices and going against my own feelings. Ya know, even after being warned to stay away from that hole in the wall, you're curious to see what's in the hole, you poke the hole with what you believe to be a sufficiently long stick to find out, and end up losing the stick and arm. That's how I also learned, the hard way from experience.

But you can also pray and/or meditate to a greater power of your understanding for guidance, courage, and strength to carry out what is truly in your heart for you to do, not just sucumb to fear under propaganda, lies, beatings by the gods of the Universe, or even death if you don't kneel before some mortal ideologies, like Kink Orange Sour puss claiming to be a god.

IDEOLOGIES

Ideologies are structured systems of beliefs, values, and doctrines held by individuals or groups that explain how society works and dictate how it should operate.

Well, that will be about it for me for today. It's about time I stepped away from the podium; the microphone is beginning to droop, I had to bend over to speak in it πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜†πŸ˜…πŸ‘‹

Now, on with the News. Thank you all for reading the Tree House News.

‘Worst-case scenarios’: How Democratic election officials are preparing for potential Trump intrusion in the midterms

Washington

Democratic election officials are preparing for potential federal government intrusion in the midterms, as President Donald Trump’s appointees escalate their efforts to find evidence for his long-debunked election fraud claims. The potential for federal government intervention in state elections “is now in a category, like a weather event, like a bomb threat, like a power outage” that officials must prepare for, Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon told CNN. Simon spoke just hours after the FBI’s seizure of 2020 ballots from Fulton County, Georgia.

Simon, a Democrat, stressed that he was not predicting such an intrusion. But he and his colleagues have discussed a range of moves, from seeking to protect voters from interactions with federal law enforcement at polling places to navigating the administration’s push for access to personal information about tens of millions of voters. The Trump administration has pushed to alter election ground rules ahead of the midterms, including with an executive order last year that has been partially blocked in court...

From empty theaters to packed houses, response to Melania Trump documentary reflects America’s political division

Carmel, Indiana

Was Mark Carney's Davos speech a mistake if it upset Trump?

Not everyone was happy with the prime minister's landmark address

In an interview with an American television network this week, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent volunteered some advice to Mark Carney. "I would just encourage Prime Minister Carney to do what he thinks is best for the Canadian people, not his own virtue-signalling, because we do have a USMCA negotiation coming up," Bessent said, using the American name for the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement.

"He rose to power on an anti-American, anti-Trump message, and that's not a great place to be when you're negotiating with an economy that is multiples larger than you are and your biggest trading partner."

The cause of Bessent's concern was apparently Carney's widely lauded speech in Davos, Switzerland, last week. And the treasury secretary's comments came after U.S. President Donald Trump's suggestion that Canada needed to be more "grateful."

"I would not pick a fight going into USMCA to score some cheap political points," Bessent said.

  • Carney says he told Trump 'I meant what I said in Davos,' contradicting U.S. account
  • 'The old order is not coming back,' Carney says in provocative speech at Davos
  • Mark Carney and 'The Speech'

If a fight is currently being had, one might ask whether Carney — or Canada — can really be said to have picked it. Canada was largely minding its own business a year ago when the United States launched tariffs against Canadian products.

BREAKING NEWS:

Prime Minister Carney speaks to the country’s premiers, highlighting the improvement of trade relations internationally and interprovincially.

Based on recent reports from early 2026, Prime Minister Mark Carney is advancing a strategy to transform Canada into a more resilient, self-reliant economic and distribution hub, specifically designed to reduce reliance on the United States and diversify trade routes. This approach involves significant investment in national infrastructure and the creation of a "Team Canada" trade and investment hub.

Key Components of the Carney Distribution Hub Strategy:

"Team Canada" Trade Hub: Carney is pushing for a "Team Canada" trade and investment hub to unify federal, provincial, and territorial efforts to promote exports and attract investment.

Infrastructure Investment: The strategy includes a $5 billion Trade Diversification Corridors Fund to build and upgrade ports, railways, airports, and highways, with a focus on connecting different regions of Canada.

Energy and Utility Grid Expansion: A major pillar is the expansion of the national electricity grid, aimed at increasing Canada's energy advantage and delivering cleaner, more reliable, and more affordable power for Canadians.

Internal Trade Liberalization: The "One Canadian Economy" initiative seeks to eliminate internal trade barriers to facilitate the free movement of goods, services, and labour across Canada.

Diversification of Trade Partners: The government is actively pursuing new trade relationships with countries in the ASEAN region, MERCOSUR, and India to reduce dependency on the U.S. market.

"Backwards Integration" Strategy: The plan includes strengthening domestic supply chains for critical materials like steel, aluminum, and critical minerals to ensure Canada can produce more of what it consumes and exports.

Context and Objectives:

Countering Protectionism: The strategy is a response to U.S. tariffs and trade disruptions, aimed at making the Canadian economy more robust in the face of global shocks.

Boosting Non-U.S. Exports: A goal of this approach is to double Canada's non-U.S. exports over the next decade.

Focus on Key Sectors: The plan heavily emphasizes critical minerals, clean energy, and manufacturing.

"HELLO from Igloo land!" It's another cold, frosty morning, with snow trying to fall again.😁🫨 Even the penguins 🐧 are packing their little suitcases 🧳 and moving south ⬇️ Does the term "climate change" mean climate warming or freezing? Today, it feels more like another Ice Age is on its way. Maybe frostbite will keep the Americans south of the border. Even the atomic bombs in their silos will not want to come out in this cold. Freeze all the little atoms in them. I have read somewhere that all those atomic bombs stored without the human intervention of a launch command would sit there harmlessly until they disintegrate into piles of rust; that's a good thing to know.

Unless this is the beginning of another Ice Age, the sun will come up over the horizon, and the birds will tweet again when spring arrives. With all this snow, rain, avalanches, and floods, I would think this past winter should put somewhat of a damper on forest fires until later this summer. Forest fires started in early May last year in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario. We were lucky in Ontario that the fires mainly stayed to the northwest of us.

I am 80 years old and grew up in the northland of Ontario. My personal recollection from ages 4 to about 7 is that we never had forest fires until late June or mid-July, lasting until the end of August. That was the hottest and driest part of the year in the low 90° F. Still, it felt more like in comparison, after I personally visited Arizona a few years back, both the northland and Arizona share the dry air, like the northern region above the Timmins area of Ontario during late June to late August. I remember playing desert in a sand pit left over from a highway construction site. The sand was so hot it burned my feet when I was barefoot. Good memories, my sister and I used to play "jungle" in the bush behind the house, too.

Recent commentary and analysis have drawn parallels between U.S. foreign policy actions and 17th-century piracy, specifically regarding "flagrant violations of international law" in the Caribbean and Latin America. This rhetoric accuses the U.S. of acting above the law, with critics pointing to actions such as threats to seize vessels, targeting foreign resources, and ignoring international court rulings.

Allegations of "Pirate State" Behavior

Critics argue that current U.S. actions, particularly regarding Venezuela, mirror piratical behavior rather than lawful international conduct. Now on to the Tree House Breaking News.

Most snow in years, blizzard conditions possible in parts of Southeast from powerful bomb cyclone

A rapidly strengthening winter storm, known as a bomb cyclone, is less than 24 hours away from delivering an unusual amount of snow, damaging winds and dangerous coastal flooding to parts of the Southeast and mid-Atlantic.

Impacts will begin late Friday into Saturday, with snow and hurricane-force wind gusts possibly whipping up blizzard conditions along parts of the North Carolina and Virginia coasts by Saturday night. Coastal New England, particularly eastern Massachusetts, could see snow and wind later in the weekend if the storm tracks closer to shore.

The storm is expected to form near the North Carolina coast late Friday before rapidly strengthening as it moves north Saturday, a process known as bombogenesis. As the bomb cyclone intensifies, it will draw very cold air southward, allowing snow to fall across areas that don’t often see significant winter weather. This will also increase its winds, particularly along the coast...

Trump’s deal with Senate leaders to avert government shutdown hits snags as lawmakers refuse to allow quick vote

Senate leaders have a bipartisan funding deal in hand but it remains to be seen whether they will avert a costly government shutdown as the clock ticks down toward Friday’s midnight deadline.

Lawmakers left Capitol Hill late Thursday after all rank-and-file senators could not come to agreement to swiftly move the spending package – the contours of which negotiators from both parties and the White House struck earlier in the day. Senators are set to return Friday with an eye toward sending the bills back to the House for final approval, but negotiations can change rapidly. “I hope we can get these issues resolved. Right now, we got snags on both sides, but tomorrow’s another day,” Senate Majority Leader John Thune told reporters as he left the US Capitol.

Any one senator can object to quick consideration of a measure on the floor, slowing down the process...

If the Senate is successful Friday, however, final passage could still be delayed until Monday

Trump names Kevin Warsh as his pick to replace Jerome Powell at the Federal Reserve

What We're Covering Here

• President Donald Trump said Friday he is nominating Kevin Warsh to be the next Federal Reserve chair. Warsh will take over from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, whose term as chair ends in May. The role requires Senate confirmation.

• The announcement caps an extensive search that started in September and was spearheaded by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who whittled down a list of half a dozen candidates and presented four finalists to the president.

• Trump has castigated Powell for months, calling him a “numbskull,” a “moron” and a “jerk” for not lowering interest rates more quickly. His administration also launched a criminal investigation of Powell and the Fed earlier this month, which led Powell to issue an extraordinary rebuke of Trump’s efforts to politicize the independent central bank...

This morning, Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet issued a statement saying he is concerned about Trump's threats against the Quebec-based company. "The aircraft marketed by Bombardier fully comply with all applicable U.S. regulations and certifications and are essential to routine air operations there," he wrote.

"This threat undermines economic stability and the entire continent's air transport network on false pretenses, potentially jeopardizing its safety.

For the past 10 months Prime Minister Mark Carney has been carefully treading a fine line on the ongoing review of Canada’s purchase of U.S.-built F-35 fighter jets.

Carney ordered a review of the F-35 purchase in mid-March in the wake of threats against Canadian sovereignty by U.S. President Donald Trump. At this point, the federal government is only committed to buy 16 F-35s — Carney will be making the final decision on whether to proceed with the additional purchase of another 72 of the stealth fighters.

Canada’s 88-Jet Gripen DEAL With Sweden Just CHANGED Everything!

AI Overview

My Question: As of January 29 2026 Has there yet been any moves by Canada to buy fighter aircraft from Sweden?

As of January 29, 2026, there have been significant new

developments indicating that *Canada is actively considering a mixed fleet of fighter aircraft,* which could involve purchasing Saab Gripen E jets from Sweden alongside a reduced number of F-35s.

While Canada had previously committed to buying 88 F-35s from the U.S., reports in late January 2026 suggest a major shift in strategy, according to reports from National Post and other outlets.

  • Key Developments (as of Jan 29, 2026):
  • Mixed Fleet Possibility: Sources indicate the government is considering buying approximately 40 F-35s (down from 88) and supplementing the fleet with up to 72 or more Swedish Saab Gripen E fighter jets.
  • Production in Canada: Saab has proposed assembling the Gripen jets in Canada, potentially in Quebec, to meet industrial benefit requirements.
  • Official Status: Canadian Defence Minister David McGuinty confirmed on January 28, 2026, that "no decision has been reached" and the procurement "remains under review".
  • U.S. Reaction: The U.S. Ambassador to Canada has expressed concern, warning that reducing the F-35 order could compel the U.S. to operate its own fighters in Canadian airspace to maintain NORAD obligations.
  • Contextual Factors:
  • Cost & Jobs: The shift is partially driven by rising costs of the F-35 program and the potential for greater industrial benefits (estimated 12,600 jobs) offered by Saab.
  • Timeline: While the first F-35s are still expected for delivery in 2026, this potential reconsideration of the full 88-plane deal introduces uncertainty into the timeline.

In summary, a shift toward buying Swedish Gripen jets is under serious consideration, but a final, binding decision to split the order has not been publicly announced, and the government is still reviewing its options.

And so far Ladies and gentlemen, that's how the first shoe drops. Now we have to wait and see when the other shoe drops, and I have a feeling we won't have to wait long.

But at least my appetite is returning, where I can eat almost anything as long as it's mushed up with the blender. I am looking forward to getting my upper teeth so I can eat solids again. Or even munching on bacon and eating potato chips ... the list of the little things I took for granted when I had teeth, like eating a pickle, goes on πŸ™ƒ

TODAY'S DISCUSSION:

THOUGHT & GOD PARTICLE

I pray to The Great Spirit, G-d, Philosophically, The Original Thought, The Uncaused Cause. In Science: Is the God Particle related?

Think about it! Nothing remains nothing, and in the beginning, all there was was an empty void. If the void was empty, nothingness, not even light, then in order to manifest anything in an empty void, there first has to be a thought, a thought manifested into matter in an empty void where it had an infinity to expand and evolve.

- Google Search -

God Particle:

"God Particle" is the popular nickname for the Higgs boson, an elementary particle in the Standard Model of particle physics that explains how other particles acquire mass. Discovered in 2012 by CERN's Large Hadron Collider, the Higgs boson confirms the existence of the Higgs field, which gives mass to fundamental particles, allowing matter to exist.

How many thoughts in an infinite, empty void? Can you count to infinity? The INFINITE POTENTIALS are simply unlimited. I can't count how many nights I've lain in bed mulling this one over. I hope some Astrophysicist gets an "Ah-ha!" out of it 😁

How about: Many thoughts from one source, like, picture an octopus with outstretched tentacles. The source is the octopus, and the tentacles are the thoughts. That's still only one tiny microscopic dust particle in a void of nothingness. How about an infinity of octopuses connecting with each other at the tip of their tentacles?

Talks intensify to avert shutdown as White House and Senate leaders eye last-ditch deal
