TREE HOUSE NEWS 🏡

Land of Whispering Pines 🌲

Good morning! May the Great Spirit bless you 🙏

On this lovely sunny Saturday morning, I pray you are all well. I was up at 6:20 a.m. to use the powder room, and when I was done, I felt more energetic than usual. Most mornings, I feel like I've got a city bus on my back. It's nice to walk around lightfooted again. That reminded me of when I was 5 or 6; I used to play a game of being quiet enough to move through the bush so I could get a closer look at the animals.

Even into my forties, I could still move like that. When I tried hunting for a time, I didn't come back out of the bush with nothing in my hands. I used the same method of moving silently, but it didn't feel right. I found out I didn't like killing animals anyway. As long as I have money to buy meat at the store, I'll get it there. If necessary for survival, please hand me a Winchester lever-action. So, I never hunted again after that experience. I felt that was taking advantage.

Anyway, to continue with the morning here in the Newsroom, I decided to stay up and take advantage of feeling wonderful. To most people, it may be just another day, marked by a "so-what" attitude. They wouldn't know what it's like to take a vacation from pain, "To feel nothing!" If I remember correctly, it was nothing extraordinary to feel nothing at all. There seems to be a lot more room for my mind to fly free and explore without being haunted by the thoughts and stress of the possible return of the albatross of pain. That keeps me bogged down in that pit of 💩 pain, so when I get time off for good behavior from the pit of 💩 , or maybe it was just the luck of the draw, I just twisted my nose the right way when I got out of bed. Anyway, after making the coffee and having my cereal, I took my coffee and sat on the recliner couch, 🛋 simply lying back. I felt as snug as that bug in a rug, except my bug is in a nice, soft fur coat—a smart bug, prepared for winter. ❄️ 🔥🫲🫱🪲🐨🧥

‘I’m absolutely terrified’: Federal workers brace for potential government shutdown, mass layoffs

Federal employees from agencies across the US government say they’re “terrified,” “disoriented” and filled with anxiety as they brace for a possible shutdown that the Trump White House has threatened will pave the way for new rounds of fast-tracked mass layoffs.

There is widespread confusion and fear among federal workers as the Tuesday night deadline approaches for Congress to approve a spending package, according to more than a dozen employees from 11 federal agencies who spoke to CNN. Many are still waiting to find out who will be required to work through a shutdown — and who will be furloughed. Complicating matters, the White House budget office has directed federal agencies to “use this opportunity” to prepare sweeping new layoffs, based on which programs lose funding in the event of a shutdown and which don’t align with President Donald Trump’s priorities, according to a memo obtained by CNN...

ICE arrests superintendent of Iowa’s largest school district

The superintendent of Des Moines Public Schools — Iowa’s largest school district – was detained Friday morning by immigration agents, according to the Department of Homeland Security, which said the educator was in the country illegally and had existing weapon possession charges.

Superintendent Ian Roberts – an educator with decades of experience who previously competed as an Olympic athlete for Guyana – was arrested as part of a “targeted enforcement operation” and fled after US Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers approached him, according to statements from DHS and the Iowa Department of Public Safety. DHS said he was “in possession of a loaded handgun, $3,000 in cash and a fixed blade hunting knife” at the time of his arrest. It’s a violation of federal law to own a firearm and ammunition if an individual doesn’t have legal status in the US.

CNN is working to identify Roberts’ attorney.

White House mass firing memo signals Trump would accelerate priorities in a shutdown. Democrats aren’t backing down

A memo from the White House budget office telling federal agencies to prepare plans for mass firings should the government shut down signaled a dramatic escalation in a funding staredown with fewer potential off-ramps as next week’s deadline nears.

But it also provided the first glimpse of the Trump administration’s internal operational planning that, up to Wednesday night, had been shrouded in a level of secrecy that broke from the approach of past administrations of both parties. Those efforts center on the agency contingency plans that make up the bespoke guidance documents for the federal workforce in the event of a funding lapse, which have long been posted publicly and updated every few years. The most recent agency plans, submitted during the Biden administration, were pulled offline earlier this year with no explanation.

Officials across several agencies said they’d been largely in the dark about the White House plans, and many were scrambling to deliver the requested information detailed in the OMB memo. ...

Dozens of Canadian-made aircraft imported into Russia since Ukraine war began, CBC visual investigation finds*

Members of Russia's business elite are flying in Canadian-made luxury planes that were imported after sanctions targeting the country's aviation sector came into place, CBC's visual investigations unit has found. Russian import records obtained by CBC News show 34 business jets and commercial aircraft built in Canada and sold on the secondary market have ended up in Russia since it invaded Ukraine in February 2022.

Those records, as well as flight data, aviation industry documents and leaked border-crossing information, reveal that sanctioned oligarch Igor Kesaev imported a Bombardier business jet in July 2023. Canadian travellers, airlines, airports could be hit financially if pre-clearance into U.S. lost, says expert

U.S. ambassador to Canada said Washington may need to reassess the service

Major airlines and airports, as well as both domestic and international travellers, could face added costs if pre-clearance services are lost in Canada, says an aviation expert. Pete Hoekstra, the U.S. ambassador to Canada, said on Thursday that pre-clearance locations in Canadian airports are seeing declining numbers, as travel to the U.S. out of Canada slumps this year. The ambassador floated the idea that the U.S. may need to reassess offering the service.

"We're not sure we can make the numbers work anymore … pre-clearance is something that is done at the expense of the U.S. government. We paid for it," Hoekstra said at the Global Business Forum in Banff, Alta. "You know, [if] you can't make the numbers work anymore — you're all business people. You know what that means. You've got to take a look at some of these things."...

TREE HOUSE NEWS 🏡

Land of Whispering Pines 🌲

Good morning! May the Great Spirit bless you 🙏

I got up this morning feeling a whole lot cheerier than I have been for a time, excluding Wednesday's News about Comedians. I was beginning to feel better then; the toothaches had subsided. I hope it stays that way until I see the tooth fairy next week.

I have this image in my mind of a tree remover twisting a tree out of the ground. Erk!😝 That's why I made it a point that it will be the knockout pill time before he even looks in my mouth. After the surgery, I may be out of commission for a few days. I'm not sure how long the entire procedure will take, from tooth extraction to the final inserts. 🤷‍♀️ I just wanted to keep you updated and will notify you of the days I will be away from the Newsroom.

Anyway, I actually thought up the discussion for today while idly watching TV last night, reflecting on the universe and the formation of the universe, which includes not just this planet and our solar system our star, Sol, and all the other stars, dust, planets, moons, galaxies, nebulae, gases, molecules, chemicals, atomic and subatomic particles, energy, mass, and life. They're all strung together like a neural network.

The neural network portion of the human brain comprises all the tiny threads that carry our senses, thoughts, and consciousness, as well as all information since birth, to be processed through the Neocortex located within the Cerebral Cortex, which is the Master Memory Bank of the Universal Computer. 🤖🪐 Using my imagination here for a photo backdrop. BECAUSE of the law of INFINITE POTENTIALITIES.

QABALLA the infinities

"QABALLA: the infinities" refers to the concept of infinity in Jewish Kabbalah, particularly through the term Ein Sof (meaning "without end" or "infinite") and Ohr Ein Sof ("Infinite Light"), and it also alludes to Georg Cantor's work on transfinite numbers, which used the Hebrew letter aleph (א) to represent different sizes of infinity. The Kabbalistic tradition explores the infinite nature of God and creation, while Cantor's mathematical work on infinite sets was, in part, inspired by his grappling with these concepts.

Quantum Awakening:

There's no scientific evidence that aging directly causes increased consciousness of the quantum nature of the universe; however, it's possible that deeper thinking, a greater interest in life's fundamental questions, or shifts in perception associated with aging could lead to more contemplation of such concepts, especially within philosophical or speculative frameworks. While theories like quantum mind suggest quantum mechanics might be key to consciousness, these hypotheses are unproven and distinct from the idea that aging itself enhances quantum awareness.

Possible reasons for this observation:

Increased Interest in Life's Mysteries:

The Quantum Nature of The Universe

The quantum nature of the universe describes how its smallest constituents behave in a granular, probabilistic way that defies everyday intuition, unlike the continuous nature of larger objects. Key quantum concepts include quantization (properties like energy and charge existing in discrete units), superposition (particles existing in multiple states at once), entanglement (connected fates of particles), and quantum fluctuations (temporary energy changes from which particles can arise). These principles apply universally, shaping everything from subatomic interactions to the large-scale structure of the cosmos.

Growth of Consciousness of the Quantum Nature of the Universe in time

The "growth of consciousness of the quantum nature of the universe" is a concept within the quantum mind theory, which proposes that quantum-mechanical phenomena are fundamental to consciousness. While this concept is currently speculative and unproven, it suggests that consciousness is not merely a product of complex biological processes but is intertwined with the quantum fabric of reality. Theories like Orch OR by Roger Penrose and Stuart Hameroff suggest that consciousness emerges from quantum processes in the brain's microtubules, linking subjective experience to the very fundamental structure of the universe.

So! What is consciousness? We can't really know what is beyond our present conscious minds. What I believe, I, the sleep in ditch, Wrapaho; the spirits are like chameleons, they can shift and be part of everything, the energy in all living things, the animate and inanimate are all interconnected, like the pieces in a jig-saw puzzle. So, if consciousness is energy, how many frequencies can energy be carried on, even on one linear level of time and space in the infinities of the space-time continuum?

Delegates walk out on Netanyahu speech at UN General Assembly

What You Need to Know

In an address to the UN General Assembly, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to “finish the job” of eliminating Hamas in Gaza.

Scores of delegates walked out in protest before he began speaking. The speech was also broadcast via loudspeakers on the Gaza border as part of what his office calls a “public diplomacy effort.”

Netanyahu will meet Monday with US President Donald Trump, who has vowed to block any attempt by Israel to annex the West Bank — a message that comes on the heels of a US-proposed peace plan recently discussed with Arab leaders.

Trump says ‘there will be others’ prosecuted after Comey

President Donald Trump told reporters he expects other political opponents to be prosecuted after the indictment of former FBI Director James Comey.

“It’s not a list, but I think there will be others,” Trump told CNN’s Kevin Liptak on Friday as he departed the White House for the Ryder Cup in New York. Trump added, “I mean, they’re corrupt. These were corrupt, radical left Democrats. … No, there will be others. That’s my opinion. They weaponized the Justice Department like nobody in history. What they’ve done is terrible, I hope, frankly, there are others because you can’t let this happen to a country.”

The Justice Department on Thursday indicted Comey just days after Trump urged it to prosecute him and forced out the prosecutor who resisted charging the president’s political foes. It marked a stunning effort to target and punish his perceived political enemies...

Microsoft cuts Israeli military access to some services over reports of mass surveillance in Gaza

Action came after media reports of Israeli military using Azure platform to aid in war

Microsoft said Thursday it had disabled services to a unit within the Israeli military after a company review had determined its artificial intelligence and cloud computing products were being used to help carry out mass surveillance of Palestinians.

The action comes after The Associated Press and The Guardian published reports earlier this year revealing how the Israeli Ministry of Defence had been using Microsoft's Azure platform to aid in the war in Gaza and occupation of the West Bank, including storing countless recordings of mobile phone calls made by Palestinians living in the Israeli-occupied West Bank and Gaza.

This prompted a series of internal reviews by Microsoft.

BREAKING:

Indonesian president signs trade deal, defence pact with Canada

OTTAWA — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has signed a trade agreement and a defence agreement with Prime Minister Mark Carney on Parliament Hill, as Canada expands its ties with Southeast Asia.

Subianto said on Parliament Hill that the agreements are “very important for us, very strategic economically.” Last November, both countries announced they had finished trade negotiations that started in 2021. The signed trade deal is comprehensive, meaning it opens up trade in multiple industries with the world’s fourth-most populous country.

Indonesia’s population of 280 million people is younger than most, and the country is on track to be one of the five largest economies by 2050. It has been trying to wean itself off fossil fuels, as it copes with threats to its vast biodiversity. The deal comes into effect next year, and should drop prices for Canadian wheat, potash, wood and soybeans, according to Carney’s office.

Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu said the deal gives preferential access to Canada’s agriculture, energy, telecom, aerospace and defence sectors. “It’s a massive growth that they’ve been seeing -- five per cent year over year for the last 10 years,” Sidhu said in an interview...

(((GOOD ~MORNING ♪♫~ LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.' ))) ✨🟰 & 🍁

Well, the weather is cloudy, but still lovely and warm. I have the glass doors open leading to my Green Space. It is silent out there about 88% of the time; it really feels like we are in a treehouse in the woods. The only other sounds outside of the ravens are the distant sound of a shooting range, and I can hear the small popping sounds.

TODAY'S DISCUSSION:

Memories, Yesterday vs Today

It reminds me of those years when Mom and I lived alone on the homestead; I became somewhat proficient with a hunting rifle, and for a time, I was a gun collector. I especially favored the Centennial Hex barrel lever-action Winchester. I am a gun enthusiast in the sense that I have an interest in collectibles and antiques, anticipating what will likely become a sought-after item in the future.

As for handguns, the Colt .45 was my favorite. I used to have one, a real one from the 1800s, among other antique guns. I also collect porcelain dolls, some of which may now be antiques and possibly even rare. I've gathered fantasy statuettes like dragons and fairies, elves and even some angels, as well as a part of what's left of a rock collection of each state and province I traveled through. 😁

Do you remember living in a house where the closest neighbor is 5 miles away? You had to stock up on firewood for the winter; that's about a month's labor, collecting the wood, preferably with the aid of a chainsaw and a garden tractor. However, we have done it, family effort and maybe a neighbor or two with a bucksaw, cutting the logs into stove-sized chunks and strong-arming the wood out on sleighs. But it was fun. I remember my sister always wanting the job of driving the garden tractor.

There are many quaint memories of those days, such as when we were sitting around the wood stove in the evening, listening to the radio. Mom and I often sat in front of the stove with our feet in the open oven door, either knitting or reading, and listening to the beige plastic radio. Another job that wasn't easy was drawing water from the lake, which was about half a city block from the house, in two five-gallon cans, and luging it home on a sleigh.

The Good Old days, you bet! Couldn't do that anymore now, but if I had the vitality and youth, I would do it again, just with a different script, if you don't mind, Great Spirit! I no longer enjoy this GROUNDHOG DAY repeat. It's GIVING ME VERTIGO! 🤢🤮

White House budget office threatens mass firings if government shuts down

The White House budget office is telling federal agencies to prepare plans for mass firings in the event of a government shutdown – an apparent threat by the Trump administration amid a standoff with congressional Democrats over federal funding.

The directive, outlined in an Office of Management and Budget memo to agencies and obtained by CNN, represents a sharp break from the government’s handling of past shutdown scenarios. In the memo, OMB directs agencies to identify programs whose funds will lapse if Congress fails to meet the September 30 funding deadline and that have no alternative source of funding. Those programs should then be targeted for sweeping reductions in force that could permanently eliminate jobs that are deemed “not consistent” with President Donald Trump’s priorities.

“We remain hopeful that Democrats in Congress will not trigger a shutdown and the steps outlined above will not be necessary,” OMB wrote in the memo...

US opens tariff investigations into medical equipment, robotics and industrial machinery

Washington, DC

Reuters

The US Commerce Department said Wednesday that it had opened new national security investigations into the import of personal protective equipment, medical items, robotics and industrial machinery.

The “Section 232” investigations, which were opened on September 2 but not publicly disclosed previously, could be used as a basis for even higher tariffs on a wide swath of medical and industrial goods including imported face masks, syringes and infusion pumps, as well as for robotics and industrial machinery like programmable computer-controlled mechanical systems and industrial stamping and pressing machines.

The probe asks companies to detail projected demand for robotics and industrial machinery and the extent to which "domestic production of robotics and industrial machinery, and their parts and components can meet domestic demand," as well as the role of foreign supply chains in meeting US demand. The US Commerce Department is particularly interested in the role of major exporters like China in meeting US medical needs and the "impact of foreign government subsidies and predatory trade practices."...

COMEDIANS IN GENERAL 🤵‍♀️📺 are anyone who can make light 🎇 out of someone's dark deeds, dark side, or boo boos, depending on the order of magnitude the boo boo made. Beyond a certain point, it becomes sarcasm, specifically in this case, political sarcasm. Comedy is the art of making light of a situation. Come on, man! Everyone deserves to have their funny bones tickled once in a while. The ones that don't, I call them the Orange Pus Bags' Dunce Brigade! Congress. Not to be equated with comedians. Commedy:

Comedy is a genre of dramatic works intended to be humorous or amusing by inducing laughter, especially in theatre, film, stand-up comedy, television, radio, books, or any other entertainment medium.

Varieties:

Satire: is a genre of the visual, literary, and performing arts, usually in the form of fiction and less frequently non-fiction, in which vices, follies, abuses, and shortcomings are held up to ridicule, often with the intent of exposing or shaming the perceived flaws of individuals, corporations, government, or society itself into improvement.[1] Although satire is usually meant to be humorous, its greater purpose is often constructive social criticism, using wit to draw attention to both particular and wider issues in society. Satire may also poke fun at popular themes in art and film.

A prominent feature of satire is strong irony or sarcasm—"in satire, irony is militant", according to literary critic Northrop Frye—[2] but parody, burlesque, exaggeration,[3] juxtaposition, comparison, analogy, and double entendre are all frequently used in satirical speech and writing. This "militant" irony or sarcasm often professes to approve of (or at least accept as natural) the very things the satirist wishes to question.

Satire is found in many artistic forms of expression, including internet memes, literature, plays, commentary, music, film and television shows, and media such as lyrics...

The General Services Administration has given the employees — who managed government workspaces — until the end of the week to accept or decline reinstatement, according to an internal memo obtained by The Associated Press. Those who accept must report for duty on October 6 after what amounts to a seven-month paid vacation, during which time the GSA in some cases racked up high costs — passed along to taxpayers — to stay in dozens of properties whose leases it had slated for termination or were allowed to expire.

“Ultimately, the outcome was the agency was left broken and understaffed,” said Chad Becker, a former GSA real estate official. “They didn’t have the people they needed to carry out basic functions.”

Adelita Grijalva wins US House special election in Arizona, delivering decisive signature for Epstein files push

Democrat Adelita Grijalva has won a special election in Arizona’s 7th Congressional District, which will deliver the decisive signature to the push for a vote to release the Jeffrey Epstein case files.

The race was held to determine who would fill the seat vacated by the late Democratic Rep. Raul Grijalva, who died from cancer in March. Former Rep. Grijalva’s daughter was heavily favored against Republican Daniel Butierez, who ran for the seat against the elder Grijalva in 2024, losing the race by 26 points. A discharge petition circulated by Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna of California, needs 218 House members to sign on to force leadership to hold a vote to release the Epstein files. The pair notched their 217th signature earlier this month when Democratic Rep. James Walkinshaw, fresh off winning a special election in Virginia’s 11th District, was sworn in and signed the petition.

Both Grijalva and Butierez told the Arizona Daily Star last week they were committed to signing the Epstein petition if elected. In a statement to CNN, Grijalva said the issue “has definitely come up” on the campaign trail...

Health Canada pushes back against Trump's claims about Tylenol in pregnancy

No conclusive evidence using acetaminophen as directed during pregnancy causes autism, department says

Health Canada is pushing back against U.S. President Donald Trump's claim that Tylenol use during pregnancy and childhood is linked to autism.

The government department said acetaminophen, the generic name for Tylenol, is a recommended treatment for pain and fever during pregnancy, and should be used as directed by a doctor, at "the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration." It noted untreated fever and pain can pose health risks to a fetus. "There is no conclusive evidence that using acetaminophen as directed during pregnancy causes autism or other neurodevelopmental disorders," Health Canada said Wednesday in a posting on its website.

Zelenskyy warns UN of arms race, as Russia scoffs at Trump's latest assessment of Ukraine war

Trump shifted rhetoric again on Ukraine war, but changes in U.S. policy not mentioned

The Kremlin on Wednesday rejected the central arguments for U.S. President Donald Trump's rhetorical U-turn on the war in Ukraine, as President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned the UN General Assembly that Russia's invasion has led to "the most destructive arms race in history."

Addressing the 193-member United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday, Zelenskyy called on world powers to work together to stop Russia's war in his country. "The facts are simple, stopping this war … is cheaper than building underground kindergartens or massive bunkers for critical infrastructure later," he said.

Dozens of boats from several countries seeking to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza

Activists taking part in a flotilla seeking to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza said Wednesday that some of their boats were damaged by drones overnight while sailing south of Greece.

The Global Sumud Flotilla said it was attacked during the night by "unidentified drones and communications jamming." It said that "at least 13 explosions" were heard on and around several flotilla boats, while drones or aircraft dropped "unidentified objects" on at least 10 boats.

No casualties were reported but there was damage to the vessels and "widespread obstruction in communications," it added...
