TREE HOUSE NEWS 🏡

Land of Whispering Pines 🌲

Good morning! May the Great Spirit bless you 🙏

Well, the sun 🌅 is returning, and it is reasonably mild out there. I sat in my Green Space with my coffee for a bit, watching the morning sun rise above the trees. I was contemplating this day of October 18, 2025, trying to remember what was important about today. I thought about the dentist, that's 13 days away, Uuuuurg! So it isn't that, then BINGO! It hit me, like I twitched in my clothes instead of jumping off the road and getting run over by a northbound choo choo. 🚂🚃🚃🚇💨🙃

Today is the SECOND KICK at the bucket for NO KINGS DAY. (X 🫅☀️) All I can say is that this day, October 18, 2025, is going to go down in history.

🙏 PRAYER 🙏

Let us all pause here and take a moment to meditate and/or pray for all those souls out there protesting the autocrat in the White House. May they be guided by and protected from the forces of those who do not know empathy, or are incapable of feeling any human emotion, except for their own piece of Carrian meat suits with no souls. That's all these beings are worth, their rotten nothing, meat, containers for their bodies. The question should be, where will the first "pop! goes the weasel" come from? Casualty #1: One of The Orange Pus Ball's Dunce cadets or a demonstrator.

To be certain, THIS MAJOR COUNTRY-WIDE DEMONSTRATION will be in the mainstream news and will be posted on the latest update and developments when I do the news. Thank you for reading the Tree House News.

FREEDOM OF CHOICE

- Google Search -

Freedom of choice is the ability to make decisions about one's own life and actions without being coerced by external forces like the law or other people. It is a fundamental human right that includes the autonomy to make personal choices regarding finances, healthcare, work, and relationships. While often associated with free will, freedom of choice can also be restricted by certain circumstances or by the need to not violate the freedoms of others...

My Opinion:

People, including immigrants, must learn that in the Western world, whatever your faith is, it's your own business, and you keep your business to yourself, your family, and your fellow followers or worshipers. No one is obliged to follow another's spiritual or religious tenets. Everyone on Earth has as many different faiths as there are stars in the heavens. How do you know what is right and what is not? You can only judge by weighing their actions in your own heart, or in an elected legislature representing the people where you live.

Obviously, there is no reason to kill anything unnecessarily without consideration of the value of life. It should be anyone harming another except in self-defense that should be punishable by all and any laws that govern the land

"Thou shalt not kill" is the sixth of the Ten Commandments, found in Exodus 20:13 and Deuteronomy 5:17. The commandment is interpreted to mean "Do not murder" and prohibits the unlawful taking of human life. It has been expanded by Jesus in the New Testament to include anger and hatred, and it underscores the sanctity of life and the importance of living in peace with others...

Trump meeting brings good news for Zelensky, but Kyiv’s real prize remains out of reach – for now

The relationship between US President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky has unquestionably improved but the real prize Kyiv seeks seems out of its reach, for now.

After nine months of extraordinary diplomatic acrobatics and verbiage, Trump still prefers to give Russian President Vladimir Putin yet another chance to talk him around, over blunt military escalation.

But there were – among the fawning compliments and the conviction an elusive peace was near – bits of good news for Ukraine. Even Trump’s final word on the matter, a Truth Social post delivered as he left for Mar-a-Lago, suggested “They should stop where they are” – a ceasefire along current battle lines, suggesting something Kyiv could very much tolerate. “We have to stop where we are. This is important, to stop where we are, and then to speak,” Zelensky told CNN during a news conference after the meeting...

Canada’s ‘boycott America’ movement is hurting innocent bystanders

New York

Virginia Distillery CEO Gareth Moore was bullish on his company’s American single malt whisky sales north of the border when 2025 kicked off. But then demand crashed as the centuries-long friendship between the United States and Canada broke down amid bruised feelings over tariffs and President Donald Trump’s threat to make Canada the 51st US state.

“We were looking to triple the business. Instead, it collapsed to zero,” Moore told CNN in a phone interview. “It was almost like suddenly the whisky didn’t taste good because of where it’s from.” ...

These Niagara Region residents want a new amusement park to replace Marineland — without the animals

CBC spoke to residents of the Ontario region about what they'd like done with the sprawling property

It hasn't been determined what will happen to the sprawling property where now-shuttered Marineland sits in Niagara Falls, Ont. After the passing of the amusement park's owners, John Holer in 2018 and his wife and successor Marie Holer in 2024, the estate was placed in a trust. The 323-hectare property is believed to be worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

In the meantime, the fate of the 30 remaining beluga whales and other animals at the park on the 323-hectare property is also uncertain, after Marineland's request to the federal government to export the whales to China was turned down in recent weeks...

  • Concerns about local economy without a park:

"Any type of zoo is potential that the animals can be mistreated. I would prefer not to see that, but it’d be nice to just have somewhere to go take our kids."

  • Niagara Falls mayor wants tourist attraction:

"I would love to see someone come back and take the love that we all had for Marineland when I was a kid."

AI-related data centres use vast amounts of water. But gauging how much is a murky business

As tech companies spend billions on data centres, citizens around the world are starting to push back

On a dry, hot day this summer, Kathryn Barnwell, a retired English professor, marched up the road from her home in Nanaimo, B.C., to take another crack at the mayor.

Leonard Krog, a longtime friend of Barnwell’s, was standing by the entrance to a parched wooded lot, the proposed site for a data centre Krog has been backing.

“I really, really enjoin you to think about what this [data centre] could mean for your political career,” Barnwell said, barely looking him in the eye...

Krog, who has been mayor since 2018, sees the project as a chance to modernize the city’s economy. “The kind of jobs that would be attracted to this kind of facility are the jobs of the future,” he said...

Land of Whispering Pine 🌲

Good morning! May the Great Spirit bless you 🙏

It's mostly cloudy, 🌫 like a morning, with the sun trying valiantly to shine through but failing so far. I guess for now it's time for the angels to decide who they're going to wee-wee on. Or like Mom used to say when it was sunny and raining at the same time, the devil was fighting with the angels. Or when it was thundering, she would say it's only the angels bowling. I say it's going to clear up and be cloudy with sunny showers. 🤔 There you go, if you're a lizard, 🦎 ya better get all the sun ☀️ you can while you can, eh!

Grandma gits frozen toes jest standin' at the door, lookin' out at the snow, and says I ain't a goin' out until half-past April.

Tell me something, especially you people sitting on the fence. Why would a sane person come up with such an idea as Project 25?

They, for one, have no humane values. To them, We, the People, were just numbers in a labor camp or detainees for use as laborers to run their factories. Basically, you would owe your soul to the company store.

That's how it was in America from 1870 to 1920, the last time they tried it. It didn't work. I don't really know where ethics go when people who worship that twisted cross also have twisted minds.

That wasn't enough; it was again tried with the Nazi movement from 1933 to 1945. During both of those, the people suffered terribly! WHATFOR??? WHAT DO THEY GAIN FROM DOING THIS BIZARRO HATRED and blood lust 💩 ???

One twisted mind, as loose as a goose after drinking too much wobbly Kool Aid, staggered his way out of the goose pen but didn't have enough screws to construct the plan that he needed to become The Tin Can god Of The Universe. He found an accomplice with brains, yeah, the one they planted in Frankenstein, who unsuspectedly became the hidden puppet master. Now we find ourselves in a dilemma. What do you do with such a two-headed beast? Beware, the Frankenstein monster has been building its reputation for decades, with each accomplishment being louder and more reprehensible than the last.

I believe that if we ever get a normal, sane society again, we are in dire need of having more psychiatric and mental health centers for mental health consumer programs. More of both rehab and recovery programs. Also for alcohol and drug abuse programs.

We are all born with a blank slate, with only the consciousness of what's around us. As our conscious capability grows, we begin to distinguish between black and white and develop a sense of what's right and wrong. But some psychiatric patients were born without the conscious mind of knowledge of good and evil, like that analytical part of the brain was missing entirely, what psychiatry calls the standard scale of consciousness and sensory development. Therefore, we learn from experience from what we feel inside, not just by observation.

While they, psychopaths, have a vacuum of emotions and feelings inside, that vacuum found in the psychopath's mind may be an empty vessel filled with personal accumulated idealizations.

In comparison, an open mind, or of normal spectrum, seeks the light of the evolving consciousness, like the moth attracted to the lightbulb of potentialities.

The psychopaths' concept of the outside world simply copies someone's concept of what they feel by the expression of how they react to that particular occasion or disclosure.

North Korean submunition found in drone used to attack Ukraine, report finds

North Korean submunition has been found in a drone that was used to attack Ukraine last month, according to a new report, providing further insight into the extent that Pyongyang is helping Russia wage war on its Eastern European neighbor.

The modified submunition – a small part of a larger weapon – was recovered by Ukrainian authorities following an attack on the port city of Kherson in September, the UK-based investigative organization Conflict Armament Research (CAR) said. It was marked with Korean characters, some of which referenced the Juche calendar, which counts the years after the birth of North Korea’s founding leader, Kim Il Sung.

According to those characters, the submunition was produced in the year of Juche 89, or 2000 according to the Gregorian calendar, the report said...

Lead levels in protein powder, shakes flagged by Consumer Reports

The toxic heavy metal can build up in the human body over time from food

Some protein powders and shakes tested by Consumer Reports contained levels of lead, a heavy metal, that experts say could raise the risk of long-term health problems.

Scientists hired by Consumer Reports, an independent non-profit based out of the U.S., tested 23 popular protein products, and found lead levels ranging from zero to 7.7 micrograms per serving — above the stringent limits set by the state of California, but below U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) standard for females of childbearing age. Sudden closing of AGM Renovations leaves customers with few places to turn

Marketplace travels to Europe to get answers for customers out thousands of dollars

A Marketplace investigation into the sudden closing of a high-profile home renovation company has uncovered unfinished projects, allegations of fraud and an ongoing police investigation. The company is Ontario-based AGM Renovations, and the search for answers took Marketplace journalists thousands of kilometres overseas to find the man behind the company.

The situation, said one politician, reveals the weaknesses of a system with too few viable options for consumers burned by company closures. Those options include pursuing the matter in court, going back to the company for a refund and contacting a provincial consumer protection authority for help. In the case of AGM’s closing, each option comes with its own challenges. Drew Carmichael hired AGM Renovations to work on his Oshawa, Ont., home in August 2024. The company was supposed to convert his basement into a legal apartment. But by the end of September, his $150,000 loan was maxed out and there wasn’t much to show for it...

Land of Whispering Pine 🌲

Good morning! May the Great Spirit bless you 🙏

Well, again, it's like an early morning in early June here at the Tree House, outside in my Green Space. Everything is still and peaceful, not a sound. The trees are standing like great sentinels all around. The still cool air and warm sun make it pleasant to be outside; it's definitely a fine day.

It was only eight years ago that I was walking the trails on a day like this. Too much sick time since the breakout of Covid, I've been ill or laid up for one thing or another, never really fully recovered. I pray 🙏🙏🙏 to see what it's like to have a full year without pain and being sick. Thank you for allowing me to rant a little. From my experience with suffering, I can see why if you survive all this 💩 you should qualify to be canonized for sainthood, "in my opinion!"🙇‍♀️🤔

I'm here, on asteroid 36and a 1/2 somewhere between the Delta quadrant and the Alpha quadrant. "The retro rockets failed!" And here I am stranded on this damned rock in the middle of nowhere!

I discovered that the crolio pipes "do" fit quite well to the conjunction tubes if you connect them at the junction box at the universal nanoparticle drive located in Chamber 19, connecting to the gelpack command center, leading to the computerized combustion heads, to the firing chamber. "And you'd better get your butt out of there before they yell FIRE IN THE HOLE!" Now that is just one of my nonsense vignettes I make in the morning for a sanity check. I used to love doing that with my nephew when he was a kid.

Anyway, I'm just blabbering away, or chewing the rag with the hopes and intentions that someone will take a second to smile or laugh at the National Dumbness of the 💩 's source for today. Brett Kavanaugh holds the future of the Voting Rights Act in his hands

After an impassioned set of arguments Wednesday over the 1965 Voting Rights Act, the question is whether Justice Brett Kavanaugh is willing to completely dismantle a law intended to ensure equal voting power for Blacks and other racial minorities.

Kavanaugh appears to be the pivotal justice in the Louisiana case, just as he was two years ago in a similar redistricting dispute from Alabama. He and Chief Justice John Roberts, who has demonstrated his own ambivalences on the VRA, worked together on a surprising compromise in 2023 that preserved the force of the landmark act.

But now as the stakes have risen, Kavanaugh’s doubts have deepened.

He questioned whether there should be time limits on the creation of “majority-minority” districts, long employed to remedy congressional district maps that diluted the voting power of Blacks and Hispanics and to give them an opportunity to elect a preferred candidate...

Yes, I'm here and I am feeling well. A day's respite? Or is the antibiotic I took last night for the pain in my teeth rescuing me from their unrelenting torture chamber? I pray it's the antibiotic. No more getting kicked in the face by a draft horse 🐴 wearing one ton horse shoes ♎️ Extreme pain is not much fun, and I've been there a few times too many. As for the teeth, I pray 🙏 that for now, it's the antibiotic. In 16 days, I will go to the dentist. So I will be off the air for at least a couple of days following the surgery, I guess. How long? It depends on how much pain.

When in pain, I mentally shut down. I curl up in a ball to weather the storm like a small helpless animal exposed to the elements; at least that's how I feel. I disconnect from the outside world. I prefer to stay in my comfort zone in the darkness, like the cat lying on the radiator, than to go to the surface and greet the light and the pain of reality.

I came to call that place a safe zone. I mentioned it here in my experience in the hospital last year. Nature’s influence on the development of empathy: An exploratory study

The aim of the study is to examine whether and to what extent nature connectivity directly impacts an individual’s level of empathy. The results may suggest a positive correlation, potentially serving as a humanitarian tool in the future. The compiled information on the beneficial impact of the natural world on mental awareness may be relevant in social work, given the increased global demand for emotional adjustments and presence to improve societal well-being.

Supreme Court hears Louisiana redistricting case that could undercut Voting Rights Act

What You Need to Know

• The Supreme Court is hearing oral arguments this morning in a major case that threatens to undermine the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Louisiana v. Callais centers on the creation of a second Black-majority congressional district in the state.

• While the dispute is focused on Louisiana’s congressional map, the outcome will have nationwide implications. The Pelican State is squaring off against voting rights groups who warn that undermining the Voting Rights Act protections for redistricting risks “wiping out minority representation and re-segregating legislatures, city councils, and school boards.”

• Going into the arguments, signals from the justices have pointed to a potential reversal and suggest a looming retrenchment of the landmark civil rights law.

Can Trump’s surgeon general pick convince the country that RFK Jr. is Making America Healthy Again?

A series of tumultuous health policy changes seems to have shaken faith in Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s quest to tackle chronic disease and question science.

Fifty-nine percent of Americans now disapprove of the Health and Human Services secretary’s performance, according to a KFF poll released last week. And six surgeons general from Democratic and Republican administrations, including President Donald Trump’s first term, say he is “endangering the health of the nation.” Jerome Adams, Trump’s surgeon general from his first term, even said he should be fired.

Dr. Casey Means, Trump’s nominee for the post, would play a key role in trying to convince Americans that Kennedy is, in fact, “Making America Healthy Again.”

  • MAHA comes to DC:

I have a suggestion. How about a country-wide STRIKE? That means ALL of "We, the People." What would the rich do without us? And for how long? Along with Trump's tariffs, and the government shutdown. NOTHING IS MOVING IN THE COUNTRY.

Grocery stores go empty. How long before the remaining machinery that runs a government, even a Nazi regime, can stand without rules and regulations? However, the rules and regulations are prone to suit the choice of the big cheese in charge? But without some kind of order, you have chaos. A third-world country without a government, the remaining overworked pieces without proper maintenance begin to overheat and fly apart into lumps of worthless smoking debris.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford said the company has a duty to live up to its promise to workers. "I have spoken with Stellantis to stress my disappointment with their decision to prioritize investment into the U.S.," said Ford in a statement...

Honda to postpone plans for EV plant in Canada for at least 2 years

Honda had announced plans for the Alliston, Ont., plant just over a year ago

A year after the $15-billion electric vehicle project in Ontario was announced, Honda Canada is pushing the project back. The company said Tuesday it would put the plan to build an EV supply chain — which included a proposed EV battery plant and retooled vehicle assembly facility — in Alliston, Ont., on hold for about two years.

"Due to the recent slowdown of the EV market, Honda Motor has announced an approximate two-year postponement of the comprehensive value chain investment project in Canada. The company will continue to evaluate the timing and project progression as market conditions change," Honda Canada spokesperson Ken Chiu told CBC News in an email statement on Tuesday.

TREE HOUSE NEWS 🏡

Land of Whispering Pine 🌲

Good morning! May the Great Spirit bless you 🙏

Well, it's another beautiful sunny morning, a little cool but nothing a sweater can't fix. It was nice to sit out there in my Green Space with my coffee. I was just staring at the trees across the way, then my mind kind of drifted, and I was back on the homestead, by the lake, in the woods, at the original house. I seem to go back to that scene more often than any other lately, the house, the lake, and the island. The woods, the lake, and the island, especially, were my favorite hideouts to play out imaginary games like a lady pirate, or queen of the forest, or Robinson Crusoe on a deserted island with strange beasts, ya know, stuff like that.

TODAY'S DISCUSSION:

MEMORIES

Looking back, it reminds me a lot of Little House on the Prairie with Michael Landon's lifestyle, just a bit more modern —not by much at first, as I recall. Our little house on the prairie was a one-and-a-half-story house, complete with a cellar and an outhouse. The house had shiplap siding and wooden shingles on the roof. It sat in a field on the edge of a hill under some giant pine trees.

"Hey!" I rode on a steam locomotive when we lived in the lumber camps. I was about six or seven years old then, before steam locomotives went out of style. It's memories like that that I cherish more than all the money Trump has stolen. If I had that money, I would give it all back. What the hell do I need all that money for at my age? I probably would die of old age before I could make it to the bank.

My mind is as sharp as a teenager's; don't let the old, worn-out machinery fool you. The psych moves much faster than the physical could ever hope to even catch up to. That's why I like writing the best of the modes of communication. I can come back and fill in all the blanks after going through my work with my editor, Paula.

I have developed an above-average vocabulary, and I'm sharp enough to see the difference between the lying cockroaches and Earth Angels. There are many Earth Angels; they just don't know they are yet. Most of my learning comes from self-education, seeking answers to numerous questions in the public library, online, in conversations with my late psychiatrist, and through deep discussions with my mentor, an extraordinary gentleman, research scientist, and engineer named Warren. And of course, my dad, when he was still among us. Both those men, my dad and Warren, had open minds to all potentialities.

And I also had a spiritual advisor during my recovery in the AA program. Marg, short for Margaret, no last names.

Now I believe it's my turn to return the favor by sharing my experiences and what I have learned from them with you. Thank you for reading the TREE HOUSE NEWS.

Hostage families reunite as Trump is in Egypt for summit on Gaza

US President Donald Trump hailed a “dawn of a new Middle East” in remarks before the Israeli parliament today after Hamas freed all living hostages and Israel released Palestinian prisoners under the US-brokered ceasefire deal. Trump has arrived in Egypt for a summit with world leaders on Gaza’s future.

The 20 remaining living hostages in Gaza were returned to Israel earlier today after two years of war. Hamas released the names of four deceased hostages whose bodies it says will be handed over. All 250 Palestinian prisoners and more than 1,700 detainees from Gaza, held by Israel without charge since the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, 2023, have now been released.

Emotional scenes unfolded as the freed hostages reunited with their families in hospitals across Israel and as Palestinian prisoners met with their relatives in the West Bank and arrived in buses to large crowds in Gaza...

Jersey Shore braces for potentially highest water levels in a decade as nor’easter delivers final blow

Major coastal flooding and wind-whipped rain will hit the mid-Atlantic and Northeast coastline Monday as an impactful nor’easter crawls up the East Coast for a third consecutive day.

The storm has already disrupted air travel at major Northeast airports, triggered serious flooding in South Carolina and threatens to push the ocean into homes and onto roads along the mid-Atlantic coast at Monday afternoon’s high tide.

This coastal storm is called a nor’easter because winds blowing from the northeast push water toward the coast, causing it to erode beaches and pile up water and cause flooding.

Here’s The Latest:

  • Dangerous coastal flooding:

Water levels Monday afternoon could reach a mark not touched in more than a decade along the Jersey Shore. “Widespread roadway flooding and closed roads, damage to structures and evacuations are possible,” the National Weather Service warned. Parts of coastal Virginia hit major flood stage, the most severe level, Sunday afternoon and dozens of other locales in the mid-Atlantic experienced moderate flooding.

  • Travel woes:
  • Water rescues:
  • Punishing winds:
  • Days of significant coastal flooding:

When Will it End?

Canadian Peter Howitt among 3 Nobel winners in economics

Howitt among those awarded for 'having explained innovation-driven economic growth'

Canadian economist Peter Howitt is among a group of three researchers who won the Nobel memorial prize in economics, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced Monday. Howitt, Joel Mokyr and Philippe Aghion won for their research into the impact of innovation on economic growth and how new technologies replace older ones — a key economic concept known as "creative destruction."

The winners represent contrasting but complementary approaches to economics. Mokyr is an economic historian who delved into long-term trends using historical sources, while Howitt and Aghion relied on mathematics to explain how creative destruction works...

The Trump administration is investing in Canadian critical mineral companies. *BUT* Ottawa can stop it

Deal could be subject to national security review

The Trump administration has purchased a stake in two Canadian critical mineral companies, a move experts say is certainly unusual, if not extraordinary, and which raise questions about whether Ottawa should block them in the interest of national security. It's "possibly unprecedented for the U.S. government itself to be buying an interest in a Canadian company,” said Lawrence Herman, an international lawyer and a senior fellow at the C.D. Howe Institute.

Canada should be concerned, he said, "about any foreign state purchasing interest in a Canadian company, especially in the sensitive critical minerals sector.” Those minerals include lithium, copper, nickel and others that are essential for modern technology...
