NEWS AGGREGATOR & COMMENTS

Great Spirit bless 🙏

I suppose it's a good morning. Actually, it's an excellent morning. Well, let us start with my prayer for today.*_

PRAYER 🙏

I woke up, I'm alive, and all of my parts are working. The world around me is still here and in one piece. I was outside in my Green Space; it's windy but much milder, and the birds are singing. Thank you, G-d, for the privilege of living one more day, one day at a time. Maybe one more day to have the privilege and honor of sharing the light today. Thank you, G-d. AMEN!

Yesterday's header bloop. No, I didn't change my HEADER, but I think Grammarly did when I copied and pasted it elsewhere. I didn't notice, and all six of yesterday's copies went out to my platforms with the same header error. My apologies all the same. Blame it on the Foo Fighters 🛸 they're all over the place, well, aren't they? "Get the aluminum foil out, ma!" - NA! It's jest the after effects from that kick in the head from that mule 🫏😖✨ back on the tird of the tirty-tird day of the tird month of 18 and 67 when Whistle Butt, my hossy 🐎 got shot in the butt (‿ˠ‿) Now her butt whistles on a windy day.🤣

Anyway, on with Today's Discussion.

Question: What does it take to impeach Trump?

Impeaching a U.S. President, including Donald Trump, is a two-stage political process outlined in the Constitution. The House of Representatives must pass articles of impeachment by a simple majority, acting as a formal accusation of "treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors". A Senate trial follows, requiring a two-thirds majority to convict and remove. (Wikipedia)

This one seems like the more likely one, but quite possibly a lengthy process, time-consuming, and we WE NEED TO ACT NOW - OR GET CONSUMED

BREAKING NEWS:

US and Iran prepare for talks as Strait of Hormuz remains restricted

What We're Covering:

Status of ceasefire: The two-week ceasefire deal appears to be largely holding, with fewer attacks reported across the region today. A US delegation will go to Pakistan for talks beginning Saturday.

Strait of Hormuz: Only a handful of vessels have been allowed to pass through the crucial waterway since the ceasefire announcement. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed shipping through the strait stopped following Israel’s attack on Lebanon Wednesday, which Tehran has said was a ceasefire violation.

International backlash: Condemnation is mounting after hundreds were killed and wounded in Israel’s largest strikes on Lebanon since the war started. Iran and Pakistan insist Lebanon is part of the ceasefire deal, but the US and Israel claim the agreement doesn’t cover Iran-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Trump on deal: President Donald Trump said US forces will remain “in place” until a full agreement is reached with Iran. Trump added that if a deal is not reached, “which is highly unlikely,” then the “Shootin’ Starts.” ...

‘The nuclear button for the Vatican’: Pope Leo steps into the political fray

This week, Trump’s threats to end “civilization” in Iran prompted a move Vatican historians call extraordinarily rare.

Pope Leo XIV has never shied away from denouncing injustice. But for months, he avoided anything explicitly political. Then, this week, President Donald Trump threatened to destroy an entire “civilization,” and the first American-born pope crossed a line he had never crossed: urging citizens to call their elected leaders.

“I would like to invite everyone to think in their hearts of so many innocent children, so many totally innocent elderly people who would also be victims of this escalation,” the pope said. “I would like to invite everyone to pray, but also to seek ways to communicate — perhaps with congressmen, with authorities, saying that we don’t want war; we want peace.”

The remarks surprised Vatican observers and marked a defining moment of Leo’s tenure, as his papacy nears the one-year mark. Leo, who is widely viewed as more reserved and measured than his predecessor, has long spoken about migrants, poverty and war in moral terms...

Carney’s Liberals are attracting support from unlikely places

Carney government moves 1 more seat closer to a majority

During his brief and ill-fated time as leader of the Liberal Party, Michael Ignatieff invited Canadians to join him inside the "big red tent." This appeal obviously did not work out for Ignatieff. But perhaps he was merely ahead of his time.

Fifteen years after Ignatieff's time as Liberal leader came to a sudden end, Mark Carney is exploring just how big of a tent the Liberal Party can build. In the past several months, Carney's Liberals have gained a remarkable five MPs who chose to cross the floor from other parties...

Heather Winterstein shouldn’t have been in wait room, needed frequent checks, a medical expert tells inquest

24-year-old's vital signs were fluctuating widely en route to St. Catharines, Ont., hospital, inquiry hears

On the day she died of sepsis, Heather Winterstein shouldn't have been placed in the emergency room waiting area at the St. Catharines hospital until she could see a doctor, an emergency medicine expert told a coroner's inquest Wednesday.

But even if she had to wait in the ER for limited resources and staffing shortages, it would have been critical for her to be reassessed frequently for any signs that her condition was deteriorating, Dr. Ron McMillan of McMaster University testified. The inquest also heard that as paramedics brought Winterstein to what's now known as the Marotta Family Hospital on Dec. 10, 2021, her vital signs appeared to be fluctuating widely. Winterstein died after spending two days trying to access health care at the hospital...
