NEWS AGGREGATOR & COMMENTS

Great Spirit bless

Hi there! We continue to be blessed with sunny mornings here at the Tree House 🏑🌳. I pray all of you have a productive, safe, and blessed day.

Today's Discussion: Lost In Thought

For me, it's just one of those mornings, ya know, when your 80-year-old inner self notices more klutziness in your physical movements and a few blank spots in your short-term memory. I used to remember all the tools I needed for a project, a project as simple as making a bologna sandwich πŸ₯ͺ. Now I have to make a list πŸ“ƒto bring with me. Even at home, I should have a list. I have to make a trip for each tool I will need, one at a time, because my mind drifts elsewhere, and I forget the other tools I need to do the job. Self-analysis in a nutshell 🌰πŸ₯œ eh!

ᝰ||၊၊THE DRIFTING MIND 🧠 ၊၊||ᝰ

Maybe make a good title for something out of *Psychology Today*

That damned gap in memory and the klutzing times — I won't get into the klutz stuff, but they eat time, and I get impatient. I believe they're connected. For example, like a curse: I'm simply going to the bank to cash a check, and on arriving I discover I forgot my pocketbook at home. Or if I am not constantly on guard, I knock stuff down, drop stuff, etc. But now I believe my memory chip is just skipping like an old record player, short-circuiting or something. Maybe all that Martian🟠 dust... never mind, that's another story πŸ˜‰

I go to start a project, plop my butt down at my workstation 'empty-handed', and have to make a half-dozen trips to get all the necessary tools to do the job. Anyway, when you're 80 and have to get up for each item, 'brain fartz' you don't just feel it physically from age; when you're approaching 80, I also find myself easily distracted or sidetracked. So my thought process is sometimes not on the scene.

It's not that I forgot it; it just got blanked over by other thoughts. Then it comes back in pieces with new pieces attached. Then I have the re-dos, and end up with something with an entirely different set of details from the original thought. Like playing yo-yo; except the above is a good yo-yo, you can do all kinds of tricks with it. If there were such a contest, an imaginary yo-yo πŸͺ€ contest, I would probably be the pro imaginary yo-yo πŸͺ€ player of the century. I like those yo-yos

Can you imagine what is going on in Trump's malfunctioning yo-yo neuronetwork πŸͺ€πŸ•Έ️? Don't fall into that bucket πŸͺ£of bits and bytes; WATCH IT! The bytes really bite. A Network of CHAOTIC yo-yos, like a runaway RED MONSTER GALAXY of 0s and 1s swirling and swirling, and feeding upon the others, caring nothing about anything except what pleases it, just like a vampire Jabba the Hutt πŸ’©πŸŸ πŸ˜¬πŸ¦‡

πŸ’₯GREEDπŸ’₯

Well, that's enough about me and surely enough about the Orange Menace. Thank you for visiting and reading the Tree House News 🏑

And here it is: 12:00 noon, and I'm going to take a break; I'll be back in a bit to continue with Today's Discussion.

TODAY'S DISCUSSION:

LOST IN THOUGHT

Question: slowed down short-term memory forgetting because of an overactive mind

πŸ”ΉAI Overview

An overactive mind does not actually slow down how quickly you forget things; in fact, it usually accelerates short-term memory loss by creating mental clutter, anxiety, and constant distractions that disrupt the brain's data-encoding process. When your mind is racing, your working memory becomes overloaded, making it incredibly difficult to transfer short-term thoughts into stable long-term memories.

If you feel like your thoughts are "stuck" or dragging, or if you are looking for ways to intentionally slow down how quickly you lose track of short-term information, the key lies in managing your cognitive load...

How Trump’s terrible policy decisions led to this one surprising outcome

Seven months into the Iran war, it’s clear Trump had no concrete goals in mind. Least of all accidentally driving down global carbon emissions — and yet here we are.

President Donald Trump’s second administration has by now waged numerous wars, both literal and metaphorical. But amid the catastrophic absurdity of the past two years, a twisted case of kismet has emerged: Trump’s decision to launch a war against Iran may have done the environment a favor in the process.

Yes, it is hard to imagine Trump doing anything that benefits the climate. But according to a Washington Post analysis of International Energy Agency data, that’s exactly what has happened. The IEA initially predicted a big jump in emissions this year compared with last year.

But energy shipments from the Middle East remain stymied by Tehran closing the Strait of Hormuz. That in turn has prompted a reduction in oil and gas consumption around the world, which has significantly reduced overall carbon emissions. As the Post reported: The IEA analysis suggests global demand for oil in 2026 will decline 2.5 percent compared with last year...

  • More articles: Iran war discord at CPAC is a warning sign for Trump
  • The longer the conflict persists and oil shipments remain hindered, the more likely the shifts in oil demand we’re seeing are to become permanent.:

Putin appears to be eyeing NATO. The question is, will he actually attack?

European countries on high alert amid mounting signs of danger from Moscow

European military experts are tracking urgent danger signs that suggest Vladimir Putin may be preparing for a direct escalation against the NATO alliance.

What analysts are split over is whether the Russian president is merely weighing his options or has already decided to pull the trigger.

"What's pretty clear from public intelligence briefings by … a number of heads of state and defence secretaries across different member states is that Russia is planning [some] sort of aggression, probably with multiple potential forms," said Justin Bronk, senior research fellow for airpower and technology at the Royal United Services Institute, a London-based military think-tank...
