Well, here I am, 8:30 am. I usually begin my opening statement for the News at 8:00 am, but lately I have had problems with my laptop sticking and freezing every now and again, like a fly stuck to s--t 🪰 🩹💩 , which can affect how much time I have to do the news. When everything is working well, I'm usually done for lunch; with the sticking and freezing crap, it's more like 2:00 pm, and at times as late as 2:30 or 3:00 pm by the time everything is wrapped up and put away for the day. I ran Crap Cleaner twice, rebooted several times, and even went into the apps to close some of the programs

Lately, the construction stuff that's been screeching and groaning in our ears all summer is done for the day before I am. I call them the FN. STREET MUNCHING MONSTER PATROL .👹👺 💀 👾 ⚙️🔋💥ᝰ🤖ཊཌཬརདཏ /┆\ mean bugers? 🪲

As if we didn't have enough problems with rust eating termites 🐜🐜🐜 during the winter in Canada 🍁

Shut down the racket for the day. Maybe I should get a job with them! At least I'd get paid 💵 In other words, after 3:00 pm, the day is done. I need to get this infernal sticking looked after 🪛🔧🛠️🪚

That's my pet peeve of the day so far. No putziness, stubbing anything, bruising anything, or knocking things down, crap, it's been a great morning, except for my stomach acting up a bit, enough to make me feel like I've been glued to my chair 🥵🧴🪑

'We've never experienced anything to this size and effect': Torrential rain batters Cape Breton

Fatality in Richmond County may be related to flooding

The damage from a torrential downpour that dumped more than 200 millimetres of rain on parts of Cape Breton is unlike anything local officials have seen before. "We've never experienced anything to this size and effect," said Terry Doyle, CAO for Port Hawkesbury, N.S. "And certainly, that's what I'm being told by others as well."

Doyle spoke Sunday from an emergency response co-ordination centre where representatives from Victoria, Inverness and Richmond counties and the province are gathered. A state of emergency was declared Saturday for those three counties. Doyle said the bulk of the damage is in Richmond County, around Bras d'Or Lake, where floodwaters have washed out numerous roads, bridges and driveways...

First responders carried out a search Saturday and found the body around 2:30 p.m. AT.

Alberta’s top U.S. diplomat says playing nice is paying off for his province in the Canada-U.S. trade war. Nathan Cooper, Alberta’s senior representative to the United States, told CBC’s West of Centre that compared to provinces that have taken a more aggressive approach, Alberta has come out ahead.
