Well, it is bright and sunny, ☀️ but with a cool breeze,🌬 I needed my coat to be comfortable enough to sit in my green space this morning. But it was nice to watch the sun rise over the trees, and the chilly air didn't stop the spring birds from singing their tunes in the trees across the way. It certainly appears like this is going to be one of those coat summers. 🧥🍃Bummer, eh!☹️

Another equipment outage impacts flights at Newark Liberty International Airport

Operations have returned to normal after another air traffic control equipment outage caused the Federal Aviation Administration to implement a ground stop for Newark Liberty International Airport-bound flights Sunday morning.
“There was a telecommunications issue at Philadelphia TRACON Area C, which guides aircraft in and out of Newark Liberty International Airport airspace,” the FAA said in a statement. “The FAA briefly slowed aircraft in and out of the airport while we ensured redundancies were working as designed.”
The ground stop, which means flights heading to Newark could not take off, lasted about 45 minutes, according to FAA air traffic advisories.

Cindy posted the news a bit early and missed this little nugget. The State of Qatar has gifted Donald Trump with a Boeing 747. Below is copied by me from The Times of Israel:
US President Donald Trump plans to accept a Boeing 747 as a gift from the Qatari royal family, and will use it as a new Air Force One before having it donated to his planned presidential library, allowing him to use it once he is out of office, according to various reports.
It was previously reported that the jet was being considered as a new presidential plane, but not that it would be given as a gift.
According to the reports, the Gulf State ruling family will donate the plane to the US Air Force, at which time it will be retrofitted by a military contractor. The process could be completed by the year’s end, allowing Trump to then use it for his official duties.

That's a bit extravagant in my view, and he gets to keep it for personal use after he leaves office. Does that pass the smell test?
I am loath to think of a nation using war as a population control method, but it has many precedents. Kosovo for ethnic cleansing, Rwanda for ethnic cleansing, Israel on the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank (you can name your own reason), Sudan's civil war (no war is civil), and Myanmar on Muslims, to name a few. Though I am repulsed by the idea of war for population control, it seems one of the easiest and most effective ways for a tyrant to wipe out opposition or kill a scapegoat population, as was done in Germany in the 1930s and 1940s.
I pray that the Higher Power of my understanding decides that humanity has grossly misused its power of life and death over one another and changes its collective mind to stop the killing.
It's ironic how the air traffic control infrastructure supporting Newark Liberty International Airport and the Philadelphia Control Center, which feeds Newark its real-time information, is failing so often. When radar and radio systems go out, an air traffic controller is deaf and blind.
The keyword here is *infrastructure.* When Trump was in office, he held several "National Infrastructure Weeks" and talked about improving America's infrastructure. His administration did nothing but talk. No money was invested to fix anything.
When Joe Biden was in office, an Infrastructure Bill worth one trillion dollars was passed to renew and improve the nation's highways, bridges, airports, railroads, port facilities, water works, sewer plants, and extend high speed internet to rural areas, to name a few projects.
Trump has done his damnedest to ensure that, although the bill was fully funded, no funds were released to start projects. The airports are on life support, many of the bridges on the Interstate Highway System are borderline safe and in need of repairs, and railroads are as bad off as they were.
This is what the nation got: a do-nothing president who blamed Joe Biden for everything. If Trump shit his pants, he would blame Joe Biden, and Trump's suckies would believe it.
This is the state of affairs in America today, as Canada works to become economically independent of America. The closest allies anywhere were broken apart by a demented megalomaniac who is sure the world turns because he said so. Such is senility.
