TREE HOUSE NEWS 🏡
Land of Whispering Pines 🌲
Good morning! I pray The Great Spirit be with you 🙏 🌅
This is me 🧚♀️ Lady coming to you, from the Newsroom. 📰
It's a gloomy morning, with gloomy clouds, 🌫 and gloomy temperature, and if I don't watch it, I could turn into a gloomy old prune with a bad mood, and I don't want to go there, thank you. "No nose plant fer me taday, Ma". Billy shouts to his Ma as he turns and runs into a telephone pole. "Pop!" 💥 I hate tripping on my lip; the floor is kind of hard on the schnoz. 👃 "C'mon.. humor me, smile a little, 👄 eh!" Just a little twitch upwards to both corners of your lips will do. That's from me to you for today. 💝 Be blessed. If I can't do anything else for anyone out there who needs a spiritual, emotional, or psychological uplift, I will be here. Humor was my best tool when I served as a social worker for the better part of 25 years.
There is not much else going on here at the Newsroom at the moment, so I will put away the hot air balloon for today and go on with the daily discussion. Thank you for reading the news.
Prayer For The Day:
Great Spirit Guide and Bless ~THE RESISTANCE - 2025.~
TODAY'S DISCUSSION:
RESISTANCE
Remember, I mentioned this way back last November, before the election. I called them the Earth angels; an Earth angel is anyone who has the potential in their heart to defend and save lives, regardless of the potential harm to themselves—the unsung hero, who could be anyone, including you. The demonstrator with the cardboard placards, with the political satire. They're just as interesting, if not more interesting, to read as watching the football commercials.
Just as Hurricane Trumpatica blows over, I pray 🙏 that we are all still holding hands and that sanity returns to the land of the true OZZ, where you go to build your dreams, the true land of opportunity and fairness for all.
One thing we are discovering during this catastrophic unraveling of the once most powerful and respected nation in the world is that it is unraveling like the bandages on a mummy. 😒
JUST HOW MANY HUMANITARIAN PROGRAMS DID THEY HAVE IN THE NATION CALLED THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA?
America had an incredible amount of empathy, with programs for service and care for other human beings. I cry 😢 at the thought of the ugliness of this man's actions. Hate, yes, but I do not pray for harm on this beast. I only pray that his Karma returned is expedited, and this fat snot-nosed liar and chief orange-face is driving the steamroller over the people like scurrying cockroaches. Doing it so rapidly, the courts can't keep up. At the very least, that's what I believe he's attempting to do.
We used to complain about too much of this, not enough of that, we should have had this, or more of that, nya, nya, nya, complain, complain, until the time arrived when we stoped and realised what has happened in the last 140 days and realised what we had that no longer exists. Everything that serves the public is going out the door. Medicaid and Social Security go out the door, too, if that cursed bill goes through. That's where the resistance should begin. 🪧 Not just lay it all on the judges, the people have to resist, resist also in support of the courts.
Now for the National News.
Trump is hyping a case to use American troops on domestic soil
Posing as a wartime leader, President Donald Trump is building a political case to use American troops not in a foreign conflict, but at home, to bolster his mass deportation sweeps.
But California Gov. Gavin Newsom, the Democrat who heads the state leading resistance to a president with a taste for unchecked power, says a long-feared moment of peril is at hand for US democracy.
In an emerging campaign with stark constitutional implications, Trump is conjuring a narrative of invasion and insurrection. He’s exaggerating disorder in the relatively contained unrest, looting and protests in Los Angeles. And he’s implying that, to keep the country safe, he’s ready to deploy soldiers across the country.
Trump repeatedly and falsely claimed on Tuesday that if he’d failed to dispatch the National Guard and US Marines to Los Angeles, it would be “burning to the ground.” The president also warned that he was looking beyond Los Angeles, as other cities, and states – especially those run by Democrats

Trump’s long-shot effort to fight hush money conviction
Five months after President Donald Trump was sentenced without penalty in the New York hush money case, his attorneys will square off again with prosecutors Wednesday in one of the first major tests of the Supreme Court’s landmark presidential immunity decision.
Trump is relying heavily on the high court's divisive 6-3 immunity ruling from July in a long-shot bid to get his conviction reviewed – and ultimately overturned – by federal courts. After being convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records, Trump in January became the first felon to ascend to the presidency in US history.
Even after Trump was reelected and federal courts became flooded with litigation tied to his second term, the appeals in the hush money case have chugged forward in multiple courts. A three-judge panel of the 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals – all named to the bench by Democratic presidents – will hear arguments Wednesday in one of those cases.
Trump will be represented on Wednesday by Jeffrey Wall, a private lawyer and Supreme Court litigator who served as acting solicitor general during Trump's first administration. Many of the lawyers who served on Trump's defense team in the hush money case have since taken top jobs within the Justice Department.

The days around Trump's trade war announcements saw spikes in lawmaker stock market transactions
In the days before President Donald Trump suddenly paused most of the punishing tariffs on foreign countries he had revealed in early April, more than a dozen congressional lawmakers were tied to thousands of dollars' worth of stock transactions, including significant purchases as the US stock market tumbled, a CNN analysis of financial filings shows.
Seven Democrats and three Republicans reported stock transactions made on April 7, two days before Trump instituted the pause, according to a CNN review of a database of congressional financial filings compiled by Capitol Trades, a platform by the financial data research firm 2iQ, which tracks lawmakers' financial activity. That day, a post on X erroneously suggested a pause was already underway, tumbling stocks and sending the markets into a state of turbulence.
The next day, on the eve of Trump's tariff reprieve, seven Republicans and four Democrats were tied to transactions, filings show. The White House announced that day it would impose hefty tariffs on China, and the S&P 500 closed at its lowest level so far this year.

Trump's China 'truce' is nothing of the sort
At long last, the United States has reached a trade agreement with China.
Again.
After a testy war of words that escalated into a tit-for-tat restriction on key exports, American and Chinese officials this week met in the United Kingdom with a singular goal: Find a way to agree to what they had agreed to a month earlier in Geneva.
It appears the countries' top trade negotiators have accomplished that. On Tuesday night, both Chinese and Trump officials said they had agreed to a framework to implement the consensus they reached in May...

15 senators took a $118K trip to Alberta. Some colleagues question its relevance
Taxpayer-funded' familiarization tour' included stops at Calgary Stampede, Lake Louise
The initiative was launched by Alberta Sen. Scott Tannas. In May 2024, he sent a message to his colleagues in the upper chamber inviting them on what he called a "familiarization tour" of his province.
The idea was simple, he explained. Many senators were unfamiliar with his part of the country and would benefit from a "come to know" visit to Alberta.
The trip, organized in collaboration with the Alberta government, featured several stops, including a visit to the Calgary Stampede, a meeting with members of the tourism industry in Banff, a day trip to the oilsands, and a tour of the province's grain and beef farms.

NEWSOM AND CALIFORNIA CONFRONT TRUMP WITH A POTENTIAL BLUEPRINT FOR DEMOCRATS
Democratic politicians have spent the last few months talking about standing up to President Donald Trump in his second term. California Gov. Gavin Newsom is among the first faced with figuring out what standing up actually looks like.
Allies and opponents agree how Newsom handles the protests – including Trump’s calling in the National Guard and sending in active-duty Marines over the governor’s objections – will reverberate far beyond California, and long after this week.
That’s how Newsom is approaching what has become a fight on the streets and in the courts, only a few days after he was responding to a Trump administration effort to identify federal grants going to the state that can be canceled.
Other Democratic governors have been calling Newsom, checking in, ticking through scenarios in their minds of how what’s happened in California could play out at home for them, according to multiple people briefed on the conversations...
