HERE IS THE LATEST REPORT I HAVE ON THE TOPIC OF ONTARIO HEALTH CARE.

____________________________
THE FORD GOVERNMENT IN ONTARIO IS FACING INTENSE CRITICISM FOR ACCELERATING THE PRIVATIZATION OF HEALTH SERVICES

With critics arguing the 2025 budget and policies are starving the public system, contributing to staff shortages, and leading to record-long emergency room waits.

While the government promotes private, for-profit clinics to reduce surgery backlogs, unions and opposition parties warn this is creating an "American-style" system that undermines public care.

Key issues regarding the Ford government and Ontario healthcare include:

Privatization Concerns: The Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) and other groups argue that millions in funding are being directed to for-profit clinics rather than public hospitals, which they label a "fatal threat" to public health care.

Staffing Shortages & Burnout: Hospitals are facing acute shortages of nurses and staff, with critics alleging the government has not done enough to retain workers.
Primary Care Crisis: Approximately 3.3 million Ontarians lack a regular primary care provider, according to October 2025 estimates, leaving many with poor access to timely services.
Emergency Room Closures: Due to staff shortages and funding issues, hospitals have faced unprecedented, chaotic emergency room wait times and closures.

Funding Disputes: The Ontario Liberal Party and NDP claim the government is underfunding hospitals, which are among the lowest funded per capita in Canada, while holding back contingency funds.

The government asserts these changes are necessary to clear surgical backlogs and improve efficiency, but opponents argue the shift is exacerbating the crisis.

SO THIS IS WHERE THE MONEY FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IS GOING,

(February 9, 2024, which involved:
$3.1 billion over three years in federal funding for Ontario to improve health care, increase access to doctors, and reduce wait times.
This was part of a larger 10-year, $8.4-billion agreement in principle.)
