Good mornin'! Well, weather-wise... It's crummy out there. A crummy air sandwich ๐ฅช, grey sky, soggy, ya know, like in soggy socks. and cool. A low jetstream that refuses to move on, like a useless drooping weenie. ANYONE WANT A HOT DOG? Not even a foot long? What are ya supposed to do with a foot of drooping weenie? Hee, hee, hee... I had to stimulate myself somehow; I chose this instead of a slap along the side of the face to wake me up so I can slap myself on the backside with both hands, so then I know which end is supposed to be the thinking one before I begin typing! Now that's an example of the speeding mind, and I'm 80 years old ๐๐ฉ๐จ๐๐คช๐ฅต
I can do pretty well with the verbal cartoons, too. I call them my comic-book jokes, using comic-book characters. I guess I built on that through the years when I had kids around the house.

As I sit here sipping my coffee and listening to Countdown with Keith Olbermann, talking about birth rights, among the many other downfalls of the orange clown in charge. What are birthrights?
TODAY'S DISCUSSION:
BIRTHRIGHTS

Supreme Court skeptical of Trump's birthright citizenship order
Several justices — including those Trump appointed — aggressively questioned the president's effort to reimagine birthright citizenship.
Today In Court:
• Birthright brawl:
• What the justices said: In response to the Trump administration's argument that "we're in a new world" since the 14th Amendment was passed, Chief Justice John Roberts shot back: "It's the same Constitution." Conservative justices Amy Coney Barrett and Neil Gorsuch also questioned Trump's central arguments.
• Trump in court:
• High stakes: The court's decision, expected by the end of June, could have enormous practical implications for millions of people, including US citizens...

What was missing from Trump's oddly low-energy Iran address: a case for war
Trump attempted to slap some gold paint on his foreign policy disaster while acting like the global fallout from the conflict he started is not his problem to solve.
If that was the best case President Donald Trump could make for why launching a war against Iran was necessary, it’s clearer why he didn’t bother to make it before he started the war a month ago.
In a prime-time address from the White House, a decidedly lethargic president argued both that the war was necessary — lest Iran rain destruction down on America and much of the world — and that the war is going great and will soon be over. If there is anyone not already on board with Trump’s war who would have been convinced by that speech, it’s hard to imagine who and where they are.

• Only in Trump’s mind could an agreement that included close monitoring of Iran’s nuclear program made it more likely Iran could build nuclear weapons than with no monitoring at all.

Radio-Canada's Enquรชte program has uncovered a major Quebec maple syrup producer selling fake maple syrup in cans on store shelves. Here is a summary of actions and initiatives associated with the Carney government regarding healthcare as of early 2026, based on reports:
• Health Infrastructure Fund: The federal government is initiating a $5 billion, three-year fund starting in 2026-27 to improve hospitals, emergency rooms, and medical schools, with an emphasis on addressing severe understaffing.
