Great Spirit bless πŸ™

Good morning! Maybe not so good, wildfire smoke again. I know it's not local because we had tons of rain in the Niagara Region, all the way north to Barrie and the Muskoka Region for the last couple of weeks; everything is saturated and unlikely to burn. It's in the northwest regions of Ontario, where there is a huge fire problem! The fires are burning across districts including Nipigon, Sioux Lookout, Red Lake, Dryden, Fort Frances, and areas along the Ontario-Minnesota border. Significant wildfire activity is also occurring near Wabakimi Provincial Park, Quetico Provincial Park, Lake Nipigon, Lac la Croix, Armstrong, Whitesand First Nation, and several remote Indigenous communities.

St. Catharines, which is within the Niagara Escarpment, has a totally different climate, and it really shows in the much more temperate weather we get than most around us; it's called a microclimate. The Niagara Escarpment microclimate differs from the climate of the rest of northern Ontario and from those of the other states and provinces around us. It's more like the Okanogan Valley Region of B.C, except on a smaller scale.

πŸ”ΉAI Overview

Lake Ontario has the lowest elevation of all the Great Lakes at 243 feet (74 meters) above sea level. Therefore, all other Great Lakes are higher:

πŸ”ΉAI Overview

Niagara Escarpment | North America, Ontario, Great Lakes ...The Niagara Escarpment creates a warmer microclimate than surrounding areas through a combination of thermal air drainage and heat retention from the Great Lakes. Because of these factors, the Niagara Region enjoys a longer growing season, making it an ideal environment for tender fruit and wine production.

Okanogan Valley has a longer, warmer, drier climate. It would have been my second choice to reside there, but the time zone difference just about drove me out of my tree 🌳🦦 That! And on the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, all you see all summer long is grey clouds ☁️ hanging around the mountains πŸ”️ like the mountains acting as flies stuck on πŸͺ°πŸ“ flypaper, ya know, like once they hit the mountains you have a big case of CONSTIPATION IN THE NATION. There are only three kinds of weather on B.C.'s Lower Mainland during the summer. It's going to clear up, maybe, then be .*1 CLOUDY* with sunny *.2 SHOWERS,* and a heat wave in July is WARNING! πŸ”Š *.3 HEAT WAVE 60° F I would sooner live in London, England.

TODAY'S DISCUSSION:

Building Structures Resistant To Climate Change

Just a thinkin', our homes and other buildings could be made resistant to violent atmospheric disturbances, to survive with minimal damage. Change the building codes if these destructive atmospheric activities become the norm. The biggest problem is no longer floods. It's also the forest fires

Begin with a metal roof, metal joists and framing in new construction, and brick or other noncombustible exteriors, no exposed wood. If upgrading existing structures is too expensive for owners, levels of government, the building materials industries, and the property insurers could form a co-op to aid in financing.

Next step up: Building Quonset huts and dome-shaped metal structures that could withstand hurricanes and possibly even a tornado, if the dome is aerodynamically designed correctly. How about underground, above the water table, of course?

Changing Structural Design to Resist Mega Storms.

For Example. WATCH:

We're going to have to change some building codes and bylaws before anyone can actually build a Quonset hut or a dome-shaped structure, which is much more resistant than any of the common rectangular, square with flat perpendicular wind-resistant walls and angled or flat roofs 🏒 🏠 And hurricanes love eating flat and angled roofs. WHICH IS IDIOTIC πŸ™ƒπŸ‘…πŸ€ͺ in these new climates and environmental activities ⚡️🌬️πŸŒͺ⛈️πŸ’¨πŸ”₯ we're experiencing as of late. It seems to have become a normal pattern from year to year.

Quonset huts and domes using the material shown in the video above. The dumb-dumb engineers at the federal level are going to have to start thinking out of the box with the environment and that dam**d dirty old oil crap. Let's get on with alternates, even the big oil companies could make themselves heroes if they could develop A TRUE NON-CARBON FUEL, and the thievin (‿Λ ‿) holes πŸ•³️ they could, they won't because they can fleece us all they want with their dirty fuel, the greedy πŸ‘Ί cockroaches πŸͺ³

That is about aaaaaaaaaall I have for the moment. Thank you for visiting and reading the Tree House News 🏑

BREAKING NEWS Update:

Trump attorney general pick faces questions at confirmation hearing

Todd Blanche defended his handling of the release of the Epstein files and called the president’s US Capitol riot pardons “generous.”

Happening Now:

Key nomination hearing: Todd Blanche, President Donald Trump’s nominee to be attorney general, is facing a high-stakes Judiciary Committee hearing. In his opening, Blanche argued he is “restoring American trust” in the Justice Department.

Defends handling of Epstein files: Blanche acknowledged there were some errors in the vetting of Epstein files that were released to the public, but defended his handling of the case. • GOP’s thin majority: Blanche’s confirmation isn’t assured. Sen. Lindsey Graham’s sudden death left the Judiciary Committee Republicans with just one vote to lose, a razor-thin margin of error.

Other nominees: Meanwhile, Jay Clayton, the president’s nominee for director of national intelligence, had a tense exchange with Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff over former director Tulsi Gabbard’s presence while a search warrant was served tied to President Donald Trump’s push to question the 2020 election. Erica Schwartz, Trump’s pick to lead the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is also facing questions at separate confirmation hearings...

We’ve worked with Todd Blanche. He shouldn’t be attorney general.

Blanche has prosecutorial experience — but the judgment he’s displayed since becoming a senior Justice Department leader should disqualify him.

Todd Blanche is an experienced prosecutor and lawyer. Those are necessary qualifications to serve as attorney general, but they are far from sufficient. The office demands more, including a willingness to exercise judgment based solely on the law and the interests of the American people. Since becoming part of the Justice Department leadership in March 2025, Blanche has repeatedly demonstrated that he cannot be trusted to exercise that independence. For that reason, the Senate Judiciary Committee should reject his nomination to be attorney general.

We write as lawyers who worked alongside Blanche for several years in the Southern District of New York and once considered him a close friend. SDNY is known for its independence from politics and outside influence. Our office pursued investigations and cases vigorously...

A Justice Department run as the president’s personal firm is not a strong one.

  • Blanche’s training makes the actions he has already taken all the more disturbing, because he knows that the DOJ should not be used as a tool of personal power.:

Orange warning issued for poor air quality, heavy smoke in Toronto: Environment Canada

Torontonians advised to cancel outdoor activities due to high smoke levels from wildfires: Environment Canada

Environment Canada has updated its poor air quality warning to orange in Toronto due to heavy smoke conditions from wildfires. In the orange-level air quality warning, the federal weather agency says smoke from forest fires in northwestern Ontario is causing poor air quality and reduced visibility for much of southern Ontario.

The poor air quality began Tuesday night and may last through to Friday morning, the weather agency says. The warning comes as the city remains under a yellow heat warning...
