TREE HOUSE NEWSπ³
Land of The Whispering Pines
π
πGood morning, everyone! I pray that you all be well, at peace, provided for, and be blessedπ π
Well, business as usual, cloudy and cool here at the Newsroom, and my butt will be staying indoors. I got all my green space back in order, so if I go out, it will just be to sit for a while if it decides to get sunny.
I may try to blaze a trail through the bush to the creek's edge so I can sit by the water. It's only about a parking lot's distance from here to the edge of the creek. It would be nice to sit down there to relax and enjoy the sound of the running water. If I do, I should start before the leaves come out so I can see the clearings; it's mainly removing deadfall and underbrush to make it easier to walk; it's just an idea.
I need to build myself back up after 4 seasons in bed with one bug or another, GERDS acting up, and then the appendicitis, four years in and out of bed. I need to do some exercise to build myself up again. I look like a scarecrow without its clothes on. Now I feel like a tired, old, fat lump of lard from being laid back all that time.
I had a respite this year, NO FLU or COVID-19, and I am keeping my fingers crossed. I remember them administering the measles vaccine when I was little, about 6 years old. The doctor and the priest made home visits back when I was in first grade. All vaccines were mandatory back then; we got them because we didn't want to get sick and die, and no one complained about getting the shots.
I believe that they have made it mandatory again to have your shots in all the schools in Ontario since the advent of Covid 19. I sometimes wonder if The Insanity Bug, T.I.B., has made ALL THE PEOPLE ACROSS THE BORDER GO COO, COO, or some of the screws fell out and the panels are hanging loose and a couple of sheets flapping in the wind.
TODAY'S DISCUSSION:
BUILDING A NEW NATION:
Like I said yesterday, *NOTICE TO ALL AMERICANS:* Doctors, nurses, licensed and other certified professionals, skill trades, and others, WELCOME TO CANADA, a growing new nation; *CANADA STRONG!*
Help the growing nation of Canada to grow.
The event mentioned above brought back memories of the house we lived in back then. I don't remember the year, but I was in first grade in grade school. It was a mile walk, and it wasn't a pleasant walk in the winter or in June during blackfly season. My Dad worked in the lumber camps up north at the time.
We lived in a rather sizeable three-bedroom house with that lovely mahogany paneling on the walls and hardwood floor and those big glassed-in porches on each end of the house. There was a large kitchen with an electric stove and refrigerator. All the walls were painted white, and there was a tile floor.
Where the table was, I used to sit and draw pictures while listening to the music in the background, drifting down from the beige radio on the shelf over my head.
Well, that's about it for today; GET SMART, and GET ALL YOUR SHOTS.

A warning sign flares as the Trump White House refuses to moderate its shock politics
Rep. Elise Stefanikβs swift rise was a barometer of the power of Trumpism.
But a sudden interruption in her ascent reveals warning signs for the White House and caps a tough week in which the inevitable reverberations of President Donald Trumpβs political shock therapy began to threaten his agenda.
Trump withdrew Stefanikβs nomination to serve as US ambassador to the United Nations on Thursday, indicating concern about a special election in her seat given the already-tiny Republican majority in the House.

CANADIAN NEWS:
Is there such a thing as a Made in America car anymore?
Undoing decades of auto manufacturing planning will come with severe costs for the industry
Donald Trump says he wants to see more vehicles made in America. It's a handy slogan and might once have been a viable idea.
The problem is there's no such thing as a Made in America car anymore. And there hasn't been for years.
Since Canada and the U.S. signed the Auto Pact in 1965, auto manufacturers have leveraged the comparative advantage in both countries to make the industry more competitive, production more efficient and vehicles more affordable...

NOTICIAS DE LA CASA DEL ΓRBOLπ³
Tierra de los Pinos Susurrantes
π
πΒ‘Buenos dΓas a todos!

Comment, Paula Koval:
ReplyDeleteGreetings and Happy Friday, Everyone! Thank you for visiting.
As Cindy stated in her post, the weather is for the birds, and judging by the quiet outside, they've flown for sunnier climes!
We're surrounded by so many things that are a pain-in-the-ass. Gray skies for so long that we might as well live in Vancouver. The physical gifts of growing older are something I wish I could return to the sender, or at least find the character who came up with the bright idea of aches and pains where there were none and give him a good boot in the ass.
Further south, we have the orange wannabe for Jabba the Hutt infesting the White House, and that's sufficient reason to be rather pissy today. Add to him the antics of his coterie: Musk (the hatchetman), Hegseth (defense dunce), Lutnick (purveyor of financial lies), Bondi (concierge attorney general), and Gabbard (director of national intelligence, if she can keep it to herself).
Would anyone care to list the constructive acts done by this sham government since January 20, 2025?
The future of epidemics starting or growing in America looks bright. Measles is on the upswing, and there's no reason it needs to be because a vaccine for measles, mumps, and rubella has been readily available for decades.
The new Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, Robert Kennedy, Jr., an environmental lawyer by training and an antivaxer by choice (it pays better on the lecture circuit), told Americans that the Vitamin A in cod liver oil would prevent and cure measles.
The parents in the Lubbock area of Texas gave massive doses to their sick children. Result: More cases of measles, no cures, and liver damage from toxic levels of Vitamin A. Be careful of where you get your medical advice. Dr. Fauci was a real doctor.
On Wall Street, all of the market indicators closed down today. DJIA down 715.80; S&P 500 down 112.37; NASDAQ down 489.83
Yale professors Jason Stanley, Marci Shore, and Timothy Snyder will be taking new teaching roles at the University of Toronto's Munk School in the fall.
Welcome to Canada! There's plenty of room for teachers on every level and in many specialties: licensed professionals, nurses, people with degrees in STEM disciplines, skilled trades, and so many other fields! Canada is in a period of regrowth. Please see if you're part of it.
And on that positive note, thanks for reading, and have a pleasant weekend.
