TREE HOUSE NEWS 🏡

Land of Whispering Pines 🌲

Good morning! I pray The Great Spirit be with you 🙏 🌅

The sun is making a valiant effort to emerge from the clouds, 🌥 but not being very successful at it yet this spring. I think the spring fell off the wagon, and we're now riding on the axles, going downhill on a very bumpy road with no brakes. Yikes! That's how the climate appears to be going here, into the sh-t can. As far as grey, gloomy, damp, and cold go, the scrotum effect is the weather here in Ontario. In other words, another one of those COAT SUMMERS! 🧥 Might as well move back to Vancouver. There are only three types of weather there: ☁️ 🌧 🌨 , and when it gets to 65° F, it's a heat wave. Seven years of that was all I could take.

Well, I got my own suns on again for today, and I have an answer for the morning chills. The heat in this place ceases to turn on once the temperature outside drops to the low to mid-fifties, between 51°F and 58°F. That reduces the temperature to about 60 to 65°F in the house through the night, which is rather chilly when you get out from under the warm blankets. I got up this morning, put on my coat, and turned on a small portable heater on the kitchen counter for half an hour. Then, I took off my coat and turned off the heater. That little heater will come in handy on cool mornings.

I also have two Coleman heaters, which are capable of warming the living room and bathroom area during a winter night if the power goes out. Additionally, I have a solar generator and two solar panels. Well, that's about it from the Newsroom today. Thank you for reading the news. I can only add that at this stage of the game, at my age, my bones are aching like hell from all this cold dampness and no warmth or sun. The Old Grey Mare ain't What She used to be

TODAY'S DISCUSSION:

FREE SPEECH

- Google Search -

Freedom of speech is the right of a person to articulate opinions and ideas without interference or retaliation from the government. The term “speech” constitutes expression that includes far more than just words, but also what a person wears, reads, performs, protests and more.

PART 2:

Freedom of speech is the right of a person to articulate opinions and ideas without interference or retaliation from the government. The term “speech” constitutes expression that includes far more than just words, but also what a person wears, reads, performs, protests, and more.

I have noticed that on Reddit, many people gather to share and discuss the difficulties they face each day, following Trump's disastrous firings and businesses going bankrupt due to the tariffs. I think it's essential to have a social gathering place where people can support one another during a crisis. I also appreciate Bluesky for its freedom in expressing your feelings about the latest crises or disasters, whether natural or man-made, and for delivering the news in an informed, intelligent, and thorough manner, leaving no stones unturned. That is also my desire, and I also endorse free speech as long as you leave slamming someone else in the group out of it.

Anyway, BE WARNED! Some social networks will not tolerate slamming anyone in discussions, not even those who you think deserve it and are, without a doubt, the guilty party. I agree with that rule. In my news, you will note that all adjectives used are from my own vocabulary of homemade adjectives, which are invented words, in an attempt to make a slamming gesture with dry humor, like, circa, Jack Benny (1894-1974)—Picaresque, in French.

PICARESQUE HUMOR

Picaresque humor, a style found in certain literary genres, relies on wit, satire, and a lighthearted portrayal of often morally ambiguous characters to create laughter and commentary on society. This humor often stems from the picaresque protagonist's experiences and interactions, which can be loosely connected and humorous.

BREAKING NEWS:

Americans pulled back on their spending in April amid the tariff rollout

American consumers reined in their spending in April following a tariff-fueled buying binge the month before, according to new data released Friday that also showed inflation cooled off again.

Friday’s report from the Commerce Department showed that consumer spending rose 0.2% last month, a weaker-than-anticipated reading but a notable retreat from March’s 0.7% surge when Americans front-loaded purchases — notably new cars — ahead of potential price increases from President Donald Trump’s tariffs.

The latest data also showed inflation moving closer to the Federal Reserve’s target of 2%, almost where it was before the tariffs rollout...

Exclusive: Kristi Noem said a migrant threatened to kill Trump. Investigators think he was set up

US Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem speaks during a hearing with the House Homeland Security Committee on Capitol Hill on May 14 in Washington, DC.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem posted a stunning allegation on Wednesday: A undocumented migrant sent a letter threatening to kill President Donald Trump, promising to "self-deport" after the assassination.

"Thanks to our ICE officers, this illegal alien who threatened to assassinate President Trump is behind bars," Noem wrote in a social media post that included the letter and a picture of the man arrested. DHS also sent out a press release.

Multiple news outlets picked up the story. The president's allies used it to highlight what they see as the dangers of undocumented migrants and the work of the administration to boot them out of the country... Read More:

This company says its technology can help save the world. It's now cutting 20% of its staff as Trump slashes climate funding

Two huge plants in Iceland operate like giant vacuum cleaners, sucking in air and stripping out planet-heating carbon pollution. This much-hyped climate technology is called direct air capture, and the company behind these plants, Switzerland-based Climeworks, is perhaps its most high-profile proponent.

But a year after opening a huge new facility, Climeworks is straining against strong headwinds. The company announced this month it would lay off around 20% of its workforce, blaming economic uncertainties and shifting climate policy priorities.

"We've always known this journey would be demanding. Today, we find ourselves navigating a challenging time," Climeworks' CEOs Christoph Gebald and Jan Wurzbacher said in a statement... Read More:

This is particularly true of its U.S. ambitions. A new direct air capture plant planned for Louisiana, which received $50 million in funding from the Biden administration, hangs in the balance as President Donald Trump slashes climate funding.

This piece of news, among many other unfair and illegal cutbacks, is so sad that it makes me cry over the stupidity of one greedy cockroach, and people are letting him, which is even more disgraceful and sad. IF THERE IS ANOTHER ELECTION, the Republican Party will no longer exist. Now is the time to act, or forever keep your mouth shut and go live in a cave wearing a squirrel skin loincloth and a spear, and oh, by the way, make sure your partner grooms the fleas from your hairy hide before you come out on your limb of the tree.

That was a sample of my PICARESQUE HUMOR.

Well, thank God for now; this is the major shenanigans for the moment. I'm sure if I sat around for another five minutes, I would pick up on another of the latest Trump brain fart.
