TREE HOUSE NEWS 🏡

Land of Whispering Pines 🌲

Good morning! May the Great Spirit bless you 🙏

Well, it is another beautiful, bright, sunny morning, silent and peaceful outside in my green space; a little cool but a pleasant, fresh coolness, no smoke, although there are still fires in the northwest of Ontario.

Now, there is a good amount of oxygen being eaten up from the atmosphere, and it is being replaced two-fold by carbon and methane gases. Mankind is just too greedy and blinded by its greed to see the stone wall they are careening towards at 150 mph. The hell with stopping the vehicle from colliding into the stone wall, saving the money comes first! Like if a man, or woman, falls overboard with a briefcase full of money, everyone jumps in to save the briefcase.

This world is GETTING SO SICK AND BORING WITH ALL THIS GREED. Praise Allah, G-d, Buddha, Rah, Great Spirit, Quanta, etc, not the GOLDEN CALF CRAP AGAIN? As if the one who thought all this would approve of such darkness to continue repeating itself like a broken record player, the needle on that record will eventually skip. It won't last for long, especially in terms of ∞... The question is, do we want to continue living this silly Groundhog Day game?

ALWAYS DO THE RIGHT THING, "FROM THE ❤️!"

TODAY'S DISCUSSION:

Atmosphere and Climate Change

For how long before our entire planet's atmosphere is saturated with CO2/carbon, and CH₄,/Methane, and if the 02/oxygen gases get all eaten up from too much consumption by combustion?

A question I have often asked myself through the years, as I watched more trees being chopped down and replaced with parking lots, larger and wider highways, instead of stacking them in layers, shopping malls, and the cities and their suburbs spreading like a cancer across the land, is, what toll is this extracting from our environment and ecosystems?

Greater strain and damage are inflicted upon our shared sources of clean, safe air to breathe and the aquifers that hold our drinking water. When we add tourism, lodging for tourists, and second homes we call cottages. Hell's bells, cottages? Today, they are more like mansions, destroying the natural landscape.

Additionally, while more industries might be beneficial to the economy, they do not bode well for nature. Pollute the air and water and remove the oxygen, what's left to breathe?. This is why it is so crucial to work harder and with greater urgency to develop ALTERNATE FUELS AND CLEAN ENERGY SOURCES. If you don't get that you're a moron and I'm wasting my time. Go read a comic book. Or join The Orange Pus Bag's Dunce Cadets. Don't worry, he'll toss out tin umbrellas for everyone once the fireballs begin to fall.

BREAKING NEWS:

Congress returns to a messy fall with Democrats ready to fight

Congress is bracing for a politically bruising fall as lawmakers return to Washington on Tuesday, with massive fights upcoming on government funding, the Jeffrey Epstein files and President Donald Trump’s policing push.

After a summer of simmering tensions on Trump’s nationwide deportations, National Guard deployment in Washington, DC, and a string of high-profile firings, Democrats are ready to fight back.

And the minority party won’t have to wait long for its opportunity to spar with Trump. Republicans and Democrats are already entering a high-stakes funding standoff ahead of a September 30 funding deadline, which marks Congress’ first bout of bipartisan dealmaking in months. Already, Democrats are signaling they want new checks on Trump’s power and a rollback of the president’s signature domestic policy law, but White House officials say they’re in no mood to yield to those demands and expect Democrats to help keep the government open...

  • Epstein files:
  • Senate will confront recent Trump firings:

Exclusive: Justice Amy Coney Barrett defends overturning Roe v. Wade and reveals Supreme Court dynamics in new book

Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett in a new memoir defends her vote reversing a half century of national abortion rights, declaring that Roe v. Wade usurped the will of the American people and “came at a cost.”

“(T)he Court’s role is to respect the choices that the people have agreed upon, not to tell them what they should agree to,” Barrett writes in “Listening to the Law,” set to be published on September 9...

These Chicago residents welcome extra help fighting crime but don’t want Trump to send the National Guard

Cedric Hawkins doesn’t take his age lightly. At 44, he’s had nine relatives killed by gun violence.

“Only one of my family members made it to be in his 40s,” Hawkins said. After growing up around gangs in Chicago and having served time in prison, Hawkins now works with the anti-gun violence group Chicago CRED in part as a violence mediator, trying to stop gun violence before it has the chance to start.

The longtime southside Chicago resident has personally seen a decrease in murders in his Pullman neighborhood this year and like other residents, he worries a National Guard deployment to his city could throw off a playbook that, at least for now, seems like it’s working, he said...

Leaders of China, Russia, North Korea and Iran gather in Beijing for huge military parade in challenge to the West

Beijing

For the last three days, Xi Jinping has played host in one of China’s busiest port cities, welcoming leaders from across Asia and the Middle East for a carefully choreographed summit designed to showcase his vision of a new world order. Now, the Chinese leader is set to exhibit a very different image with an ostentatious show of military might.

On Wednesday he will commandeer Beijing’s main artery – the Avenue of Eternal Peace – for a major military parade showing off the country’s cutting-edge hypersonic weapons, nuclear-capable missiles, and undersea drones, alongside thousands of goose-stepping soldiers.

Xi’s message with his multi-day exercise of soft and hard power, is clear: China is a force that wants to reset global rules – and it’s not afraid to challenge those of the West. Hitting that message home is Xi’s guest list for the gathering, a cohort of more than two dozen China-friendly world leaders topped by Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, which also includes Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian...

Can a non-corporate grocery chain work across Canada?

Building nationwide chain of non-corporate grocers would be 'difficult and painful process'

As food prices continue to rise and Canadians raise concerns about practices at large retailers, some shoppers may be wondering if there's an alternative to Big Grocery. The cost of food has skyrocketed in the last few years, with Statistics Canada reporting that as of July 2025, Canadians were paying 27.1 per cent more than they were in July 2020.

Meanwhile, Canada's top three grocers continue to make profits — $3.6 billion in 2022 on more than $100 billion in sales. In many parts of the country, alternatives are scarce, and the big players dominate the market. Just five companies control 76 per cent of the Canadian grocery market share: Loblaw, Sobeys, Metro, Costco and Walmart...

  • 'A different feeling':
  • Breaking into sector an uphill battle:
  • Co-ops have small share of Canadian market:
  • People are looking for alternatives:

Neighbourly... entrepreneurial... whiners?! — Albertans weigh in on being Albertan

Pollsters find this province has a strong sense of self. We set out to understand what that means

We set out to ask what it means to be Albertan — setting up first on a street corner in downtown Calgary. The answers came fast.

"Pioneering."

"Entrepreneurial."

"You look after your neighbours."

After just a couple of hours, the simple version of what it means to be Albertan was pretty clear. It's a story about a people who value freedom and take pride in what they've built here. People who are more likely to get 'er done than wait for government to do it.

And here's what's interesting. This is all set against the backdrop of separatism — a debate raging with powerful emotions on both sides. One side sees themselves as more Canadian, the other side as more Albertan.

"Whiners."

  • What defines a culture:
  • Attachment to Alberta versus Canada:
  • What we mean by 'us':
  • Defining 'us and them' in a narrow way:
  • East to fit in as a hard-working Albertan:
  • Rhetoric that's 'dividing us':
