TREE HOUSE NEWS 🏡

Land of Whispering Pines 🌲

Good morning! May the Great Spirit bless you 🙏

It's wonderful up here in my green space, overlooking the trees across from us. Sun's just risin' as I watch the lazy streamers of steam from my coffee cup. Another peaceful sunny morning, and all that can be heard is the distant idling engines of ships on the Welland Canal. Sounds much like idling locomotives, which is what they are, gigantic diesel engines.

I grew up with the railway only a couple of miles away; the ships on the canal remind me of that. Just pausing to marvel for a moment at that accomplishment, all those steel rails laid across the country carrying all that massive weight of locomotives and train cars across miles of wilderness, mountain hills, and on elevated steel truss bridges over rivers and lakes and through cities. What a feat that was just to build the track beds, rails, and bridges to support all that weight.

TODAY'S DISCUSSION:

FAILING INFRASTRUCTURE

Because Of Greed

Followed From Above:

That kind of stuff amazes me. Have you ever wondered how much steel that would take, just for the rails, trestles, and truss bridges? Steel is a core metal, and as time passes, miners will have to dig deeper to get to it. I wonder what will happen when the Earth suddenly becomes as porous as the passageways in an ant hill? I suppose that was why I returned to college, to study engineering and architectural design as well as basic cartography.

One helpful way to use those holes would be to fill them by establishing an underground city. Toronto has proven it can be done, and they are only scratching the surface. There are many such underground enterprises in Europe, some as ancient as the pyramids. Same with highways, why spread horizontally and eat up all that land? Why not go up, multi-lane highways on multiple levels or decks? Especially knowing that the problem with the expansion of the circulatory system, we call roads and interstates, between major cities, is only going to grow more in demand as the population grows. Even if we did have a population reduction, either human-caused or natural, the problem will return.

Well, I knew all this stuff way back then, and I learned how to draw concepts born from my mind and translate them onto paper on a drafting board. However, since I didn't have a Ph.D. or a doctoral certificate or any other document with a degree on it, except for those related to drafting and designing, I learned what I learned by reading books and using my imagination. So to those in the outside world, I was just a nobody with weird ideas. Today, I am an equal, whether they like it or not. I'm an empath as well as a savant. I would proudly stand beside Neil deGrasse Tyson on the stage on Stephen Colbert's show.

Savant:

The meaning of that word can also simply mean *a wise and learned person*

Empath:

- Google Search -

a person described as having a heightened ability to feel and absorb the emotions, energies, and even physical symptoms of those around them, often to a degree that goes beyond typical empathy.

That's it for today from The Fairy Ladie's pulpit at the Sermon on The Mount, at The News Room. 😁

Federal appeals court says Trump unlawfully invoked the Alien Enemies Act for deportations

A divided federal appeals court on Tuesday said President Donald Trump’s use of the Alien Enemies Act to rapidly deport alleged Venezuelan gang members is unlawful and blocked its use in several southern states, issuing another blow to Trump’s invocation of the 18th century law.

The Fifth US Circuit Court of Appeals said in a 2-1 ruling that Trump cannot move forward with using the sweeping wartime authority for deportations in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. The president has not leaned on the 1798 law for removals since mid-March, when his invocation of it sparked the first in a series of legal challenges...

Poilievre calls for temporary foreign worker program to be scrapped

Plan would involve keeping immigration stream for agriculture workers

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre wants the federal government to axe the temporary foreign worker program, saying it has flooded the market with cheap labour and made it harder for young Canadians to find work.

"The Liberals have to answer, 'Why is it that they are shutting our own youth out of jobs and replacing them with low-wage, temporary foreign workers from poor countries who are ultimately being exploited,'" Poilievre said in Mississauga on Wednesday. The Conservatives say that while they want the temporary foreign worker (TFW) program scrapped, they will create a separate, standalone program for legitimately difficult-to-fill agricultural labour.

Carney meets with cabinet amid an unresolved trade war and looming budget

Public interest in Trump's tariff war subsiding a bit, pollster says

Prime Minister Mark Carney is sitting down with his cabinet to chart out the government's fall plan as he prepares to face off against Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre for the first time in the House of Commons amid an unresolved trade war with the United States.

Carney's two days of talks in the Greater Toronto Area start Wednesday with plans to focus on helping industries hit hard by Trump's tariffs, building affordable homes, speeding up big infrastructure projects, spending more on defence and combatting crime. David Coletto, CEO and founder of Abacus Data, said he's seeing evidence that the public's focus on U.S. President Donald Trump is starting to subside, putting pressure on Carney's government to answer how it plans to tackle other problems.
