 Milky Way a Tiny Red Dot in The Laniakia Supercluster


Please read this. I believe it goes very well with the James Webb article I posted earlier below:


The yellow structure shown is the Laniakea Supercluster one of the largest known cosmic structures in the observable universe.


That tiny red dot… is us. Our Milky Way home to billions of stars — sits inside the Laniakea Supercluster, a colossal web of over 100,000 galaxies stretching 500 million light-years across.


Discovered in 2014, this “Immense Heaven” connects galaxies like rivers of gravity flowing through space showing that our home galaxy is just one thread in a vast cosmic tapestry.


It’s a humbling reminder: even our mighty Milky Way is just a small part of something far greater. 💫
