Great Spirit bless 🙏
CHEERS! Here is a fresh cup of steaming coffee to ye all this lovely sunny Thursday morning! I pray that you are all well, healthy, and blessed on this day. There is not much else here to report from the Newsroom, except that when I was outside in my Green Space with the bright sun and no wind, it felt like and even smelled like spring out there. Ahhh, looking forward to that. To get out there and spruce up my Green Space; it got a little beat up by the winter winds.
Below are fill-ins on yesterday's news about Carney's negotiations with other nations on trade agreements and the latest update on our Canadian Armed Forces. We can only pray 🙏 there's a spark of hope on the horizon. Maybe with Carney. I've heard journalists and news anchors on the TV networks call the coalition of nations formed by Carney to diminish the influence of America on world trade
The 40-Nation-Strong Bloc
TODAY'S DISCUSSION:
Today's discussion is a mixed bag. Carney and international leaders, Canadian National Defence, money, and corruption.

According to SNOPES, it is just as dependable as any other major news, like CNN, CBC, MS-Now, Politico-eu, and a few other reliable sources, on Pod Radio, and a few websites as well, etc.
But then nothing is perfect, even SNOPES errs now and again, but at least admits it when they're off plumb.

Are most or all Rich People Corrupt and Unfeeling? Makes you wonder after hearing such disappointing news about Bill Gates having anything to do with Epstein. It doesn't do anything to build confidence or trust in anyone with a bank account of 6 or more digits.
I am happy to have enough to look after my needs. What would I want with a six-digit bank account? I'm not going to buy my own jet, fly all over the place, and then buy a yacht, a Lamborghini, and all those other expensive playthings. Did that already. At 80, I'm quite happy just to sit in my comfy recliner couch and watch other old farts on TV making clowns of themselves.

Question: TOO MUCH MONEY CAN LITERALLY ROT THE MIND!
🔹AI Overview
Research indicates that extreme wealth can significantly alter psychology and cognitive functioning, often leading to detrimental mental and social behaviors, sometimes colloquially referred to as a form of mental illness or affluent attitude. While "rotting the mind" is metaphorical, studies show that high levels of wealth can lead to a decrease in empathy, increased feelings of entitlement, and a greater propensity to disregard ethical rules.

BREAKING NEWS:
How Bill and Hillary Clinton are preparing for their landmark depositions about Jeffrey Epstein
Washington
—
A quarter-century after leaving the White House, Bill and Hillary Clinton are hours closer to one more legal showdown with House Republicans, preparing to testify in a congressional investigation of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. For the Clintons, the depositions this week mark a stunning reversal. After months of vigorously fighting to avoid testifying in what they denounced as a Republican plot against them, they agreed to comply only after the House moved toward a bipartisan vote to hold them in criminal contempt of Congress.
The Clintons are expected to be joined by their lawyers, David Kendall and Cheryl Mills, who have been working through painstaking details of what areas could be covered during questioning. The depositions are scheduled to take place in Chappaqua, New York, where Hillary Clinton will appear on Thursday and Bill Clinton on Friday...
- alleged mismanagement of the federal government’s investigation into Epstein and Maxwell;
- the circumstances and subsequent investigations of Epstein’s 2019 death;
- the ways the federal government could effectively combat sex-trafficking rings;
- how Epstein and Maxwell sought to curry favor to protect their illegal activities;
- and potential violations of ethics rules related to elected officials.
- A different political climate:
- How both sides see this week’s depositions:

Polls show increasing concerns about Trump’s mental acuity
President Donald Trump won the 2024 presidential race after his initial opponent, then-President Joe Biden, withdrew over worries about his age and mental sharpness. But a year-plus into Trump’s four-year term, polls suggest the American people aren’t just increasingly unhappy with his job performance; they’re increasingly concerned about his mental capacity as well.
The unease is not at the levels it was with Biden, who was 81 when he dropped out of the race, but it’s growing as an issue for the 79-year-old Trump. In fact, multiple recent polls show a majority of Americans questioning it in one way or another. And even many Republicans seem to have concerns....
A Washington Post-ABC News-Ipsos poll last week showed majorities said Trump didn’t have the mental sharpness (56%) or physical health (51%) it takes to serve effectively.

Balancing act: Top general tries to avoid conflict with Trump while preparing for possible war with Iran
As Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Dan Caine has been drafting military options for potentially striking Iran, a steady stream of top officials from the Army, Navy and Air Force have been quietly summoned directly to his office.
Typically, sensitive military operations are debated in the highly fortified conference room in the Pentagon known as the Tank. But in an administration that is focused on avoiding leaks, Caine — who is also known for his intensive secrecy — worried that assembling the top brass in the Defense Department’s nerve center on very short notice would draw suspicion, according to several sources familiar with the matter...

Assault charges dropped against Ontario man who confronted home intruder
Crown withdraws charges against Lindsay, Ont., man; alleged intruder still charged with breaking and entering
A Lindsay, Ont., apartment tenant charged with assault last summer following a bloody pre-dawn fight with an intruder in his home will no longer face prosecution over the incident.
A Crown attorney on Thursday told a court in Lindsay — part of the city of Kawartha Lakes — there is no longer a reasonable prospect that Jeremy David "J.D." McDonald may be convicted. McDonald, 44, was charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon following the confrontation last August, which set off a national debate about self-defence and the use of force in one's own home...

Apollo moon rock researchers say they've settled the debate over moon's magnetic field
Moon's magnetic field was strong for brief periods, and Apollo moon rocks weren't representative, study finds
Lunar rocks collected by Apollo astronauts more than half a century ago are providing a fresh take on the moon's mysterious magnetic field, scientists reported on Wednesday. Samples to be retrieved by future moonwalkers in NASA's new Artemis program should yield even more clues.
Four Artemis astronauts, including Canadian Jeremy Hansen, are expected to fly around the moon in a crucial test flight, blasting off as early as April from Kennedy Space Center after weeks of delays. Their Artemis II moon rocket and Orion spacecraft, which originally aimed to launch in February, were rolled off the launchpad and back to NASA's Vehicle Assembly Building on Wednesday for repairs...

His heart stopped in a St. John's emergency room after waiting more than 8 hours, now he's calling for change
NLHS email apologized, outlined steps to improve patient care
After a more than eight-hour wait at one emergency department in St. John's, and a wild ride across the city to a second one, Paul Reid saw his heart monitor go berserk before he lost consciousness.
The next thing he remembers is looking up and seeing a large man above him. "Who's that up there? What's he doing up there? He's back up there again. What's he doing up there?" said Reid.
- 'I'm in trouble':
"I had a real lonely, helpless feeling that I'm on my own and if something were to happen to me, there's nothing anybody is going to do for me."
- A wild drive:
- Formal complaint:
- The email went on to list a number of corrective actions:
- An apology for the experience of care in the ER,
- A root cause analysis that identified three problems and work for a solution,
- Education completed with all staff regarding the use of the chest pain risk assessment tool and the use of chest pain medical direction,
- Adoption of a new chest pain risk assessment tool,
- Chart audits to ensure compliancy upon patients' presentation to triage,
- and discussion with staff to improve patient-centred communications...
