Wow! What a morning! First of all, when I got up at 5:30 AM, I noticed the sky was a brownish-orange color. I recall seeing the sky like that only twice in my life. Once, when I was very young, when we lived in a lumber camp, there was a forest fire, and the second time was when I was about ten years old, the tail end of Hurricane Hazel, October of 1954. Thank G-d this mess, wherever it was, just quietly went on by; I'm sure we'll hear about it on the TV news. Then the sky cleared up again, and here I am, sitting in my green space, as usual, sipping my coffee once more.

Until the sky cleared up, I busied myself making room for our portable air conditioner in the living room, which meant moving a bit of furniture around. When I was done, the sun was shining brightly, and now here I am at the kitchen table making another late start at working on the News.

At the moment, I am busy living my daily soap opera, "As The Stomach Churns," starring my grossly sick, dum-dum stomach, acting like a spoiled child, throwing tantrums for nothing. It may have been from the tension of the possibility of a bad storm brewing out there. But then, I am only human, and I have my anxious and tense moments, so my dam--d stomach has to 'FESS UP TO the possibility of my getting tense and anxious and still be able to eat my bologna sandwich 🥪 and drink a glass of milk. I suppose I'll have to put up with the background rumbling in my stomach trying to make up its mind between being nauseous and experiencing short periods of relief. That's enough about my health.
