Great Spirit bless 🙏

Morning everyone! Yesterday's deluge stopped overnight, and this morning is a classically hot, sunny August day. We will be here one more day to teach my sister how to use her new laptop, then we will be headed home tomorrow afternoon. I endured the cold caught fairly well. If this is the worst of it, I'll survive OK. I just move a lot slower than before with mild congestion and achy bones, but that's about it.

Gas prices would not be a big concern if that stupid F--k Trumpo The Typo had stayed out of that hornet's nest in the Middle East. After watching all the hijinks between Israel and the surrounding Palestinian countries, if you ask me, I think they forgot which way Mecca is. They're sending their methane 💨the wrong way. They are nothing more than a bunch of throat-slitting religious fanatics atamatons with no value for life; they hate Westerners especially.

(Their word for white man or Westerner is *KHAWAJA (خواجة)

For them, to disappear a KHAWAJA or Westerner, a nothing burger, is an honor to their god; it's the same as exterminating cockroaches; they even off each other without much compulsion. "Allah will reward me."

Oh well, now that they're shooting at each other, maybe the crude oil business will collapse much sooner after blowing up each other's oil wells and refineries, (‿ˠ‿)🕳️

That may be good for the greedy, thieving oil companies who have been robbing us for years; now they're suddenly going to shut off the spigot! Poor oil companies. WAKE UP, CANADA! Set prices that are tolerable to keep the wheels of our nation running while converting to alternative energy, hybrid transportation, and EVs.

MIDDLE EAST AND FOSSIL FUEL PRICES

Why doesn't Canada use its own oil as a bridge fuel and charge prices Canadians can afford

Canada does not set lower domestic oil prices or isolate its energy supply because it operates within a deeply integrated global and North American market, is bound by international trade rules, and faces severe logistical gaps between extraction and refining regions.

Global Market and Trade Obligations

Market pricing: Canada sells and buys oil on open global and North American markets where prices balance out via competition and arbitrage.

Trade agreements: International pacts like NAFTA/USMCA require Canadian producers to offer oil to trading partners on the same terms as domestic buyers, legally preventing Canada from forcing producers to sell oil locally at a discount.

Geography and Infrastructure Gaps

What happens when Canadians can't afford fuel and things begin shutting down

AI Overview

When fuel becomes unaffordable and widespread shutdowns occur, Canada faces severe economic paralysis, supply chain collapse, and deep societal strain. Essential goods stop moving, businesses close their doors, and daily life grinds to a halt.

Supply Chain and Transport Collapse

• Delivery halts:* Trucks cannot afford diesel to move food, medicine, and retail goods between provinces and cities.

• Empty shelves: Grocery stores and pharmacies run out of fresh items and essentials within days as regional distribution stops.

• Public transit cuts: Buses, trains, and municipal transit services reduce schedules or shut down due to high operational costs and lack of fuel.

Economic and Business Closures

• Business bankruptcies: Small and medium businesses that rely heavily on shipping or daily commuting face immediate insolvency.

• Mass layoffs: Service, manufacturing, and logistics companies lay off workers as operations pause or revenue drops to zero.

• Remote work mandates: Offices and schools shift to emergency remote formats where possible to cut down on personal travel and transit usage.

Societal and Government Intervention

• Emergency rationing: Governments may implement official fuel rationing, limiting how much gasoline or diesel individuals and commercial entities can buy.

• Public utility strain: Emergency services, hospitals, and municipal heat/power grids prioritize remaining fuel reserves exclusively for critical infrastructure.

• Civil disruption:

WHY THROW OUR PEOPLE OUT ON THE STREET YA BUNCH OF CREEPS WHEN YOU COULD SET PRICES SO WORKING CLASS PEOPLE CAN LIVE AND CONTRIBUTE TO KEEPING THE WHEELS OF THE NATION MOVING. "NO GAS MY (‿ˠ‿)💨 GAS !" WE HAVE LOTS OF GAS!

*LIKE EVERYWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD, IT APPEARS TO BE THE NEW FAD TODAY? HATE, DISTRUST, A TENT, AND A CAN OF BEANS IF YOU'RE LUCKY. THE SAME SHIT AS IN THE U.S. TALK ABOUT A CONSPIRACY TO END EMPATHY.

WE COULD USE OUR OWN OIL RESERVOIR AS A BRIDGE FUEL TO ALTERNATIVES

DUNCES 🥳𓉴𓉴𓉴𓉴!

One thing I learned in life. You do what you need to do to SURVIVE, which often means you have to cut the rope, red tape, and all.

Almost 65,000 people evacuated as Spokane County wildfires cause ‘heartbreaking’ devastation

Here's The Latest

• Communities devastated: Almost 65,000 people have been evacuated from their homes in Spokane County, Washington, as crews battle three major wildfires. No injuries or deaths have been confirmed, but officials said the scale of the fires means it will take time to fully assess.

• Ongoing battle: More than 700 homes have been destroyed, with the fires consuming more than 7,000 acres with 0% containment since they started Saturday, officials said. Today offers firefighters their best conditions in days — light winds and a high near 80 — but the break is brief, with temperatures set to climb back into the 90s by Wednesday.

• Climate crisis: Fifteen major fires have burned more than 250,000 acres across Washington. The Pacific Northwest is facing its worst fire season in more than 30 years as climate change supercharges the conditions for destructive blazes...

A brutal new poll for Trump shows why Democrats must run against his corruption

Running on corruption may be more difficult than many Democrats suspect, but that makes their doing so all the more necessary.

VIDEO | Included:

“One thing has never changed,” Trump spokeswoman Danielle Alvarez told The Wall Street Journal last week. “President Trump can’t be bought.”

Alvarez’s comment was included in a Journal report with considerable evidence to the contrary. “Interviews with dozens of donors, executives, lobbyists, Trump advisers and others indicate a staggering fundraising and influence operation,” the Journal reported, “with Trump at the center of it all.”

CANADIAN NEWS:

Are there climate benefits to Canada's new relationship with China?

Allowance of small number of Chinese electric vehicles part of larger cleantech strategy, experts say

When Canada announced earlier this year that it would allow a token number of Chinese-made electric vehicles into the country, the gesture didn't seem so much about climate action as a sop to ease Chinese tariffs on Canadian canola.

Now, it very much appears like the opening gambit in a deeper engagement with China on clean energy. Following up on Prime Minister Mark Carney's momentous meeting with Chinese Premier Xi Jinping in January, Industry Minister Melanie Joly was in Beijing last month to discuss the feasibility of Canadian-Chinese EV ventures.

Meanwhile, the Canada China Business Council is organizing a cleantech mission to China in Beijing in November While Carney has gone to great lengths recently to placate Canada's fossil fuel industry — most notably by promising a new pipeline to the B.C. coast — some experts suggest a new relationship with China could provide an efficient way to get back on track with the clean energy transition that much of the rest of the world is already undertaking. ...
