Great Spirit bless 🙏

Good morning, peeps! I do pray you are all well and blessed on this mild and, for now, beautiful sunrise morning. It is supposed to be a rainy day today, then turning colder again for, well, wet, damp, grey, mid-thirties type of weather for a few more days, according to the weather map for March, it's supposed to get back to above 50° F until about the end of the month or the beginning of April 😝🤢🤮_

The weather 🌫️ sounds like Trumpo The Typo's lump of carrion meat 🪰🪱🪳🥩 for a heart. G-d bless his rotten heart, or should I say, brain. It is as though he is possessed by destroying anything that has the word " democracy " in it, as if it were a blasphemous word. BEWARE OF OUR NEW ORANGE GOD. Well, folks, that's my commentary for today. Thank you again for visiting the Newsroom and reading the Tree House News 🏡 It's now time for Today's Discussion.

OPPOSITION?

Where is the Opposition? Where I live, I get most of all the major news networks, yet I mostly hear the noise emanating from the pack of hounds from Baskerville, the Right Wingnuts barking loudly, trying to frighten everyone about the bad Democrats and scare all who hear out of their boots! Well, maybe they can hold a boot sale afterwards from boots left by the Left Wingnuts 🪽⚙️ You know, the Right Wingnuts, are like nuts in a large briefcase 🫘🧳 the nuts are poison, they're a dime a dozen, good bait for Democratic squirrels 🐿️

But Democrats don't make much of a howl except for the odd grumble that gets through on the major newscasts, maybe a couple times through the week. WHAT KIND OF HAPPY 💩 IS THIS? APPARENTLY, THEY GAVE UP ON BEING THE LOYAL OPPOSITION!

**Why U.S. strikes on suspected drug boats have Canada ‘between a rock and a hard place’**

DND has no plans to alter Caribbean mission, but experts say changes are needed

Canada’s Department of National Defence says it will continue a long-standing operation with the U.S. Coast Guard to capture drug smugglers in the Caribbean, despite a string of deadly U.S. airstrikes in the region.

Operation Caribbe — ongoing since 2006 — sees the Royal Canadian Navy and Royal Canadian Air Force partner with the U.S. Coast Guard to find and stop suspected drug boats in the Caribbean, taking any detainees to the U.S. to face prosecution. The U.S. Air Force has taken a much different approach in recent weeks, bombing four suspected drug boats and killing 21 people.

Canadian officials are now distancing themselves from those attacks, saying they have nothing to do with Canadian military or intelligence personnel in the region...

US will end war with Iran ‘on our timeline,’ Hegseth says

Global oil giant warns of looming catastrophe as Trump gives mixed messages on Iran war.

Here's The Latest

War timeline: The US will not relent in its war with Iran until “the enemy is totally and decisively defeated,” Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said, adding this will be done on the US’ timeline. His remarks came after President Donald Trump made contradictory statements on when the war will end.

Trump on new leader: Trump said he doesn’t believe Mojtaba Khamenei, whom Iran has tapped to succeed his father, the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, can “live in peace.” The new supreme leader has yet to release a video message or written statement.

New strikes: Israel launched a “broad wave” of strikes in the Iranian capital of Tehran overnight. One resident told CNN of “constant shelling” while another said “it felt like one of the worst nights so far.”

Oil crisis: The world’s top oil exporter has warned there could be “catastrophic consequences” for the world’s markets should the Iran war continue to disrupt access to the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran's new supreme leader is still nowhere to be seen

Nearly 48 hours since being appointed as the third supreme leader of the Islamic Republic in Iran’s history, Mojtaba Khamenei is nowhere to be seen.

No video message has been put out from him addressing the crowds of supporters that have gone onto the streets across Iran to pledge their allegiance to him, nor has a written statement been issued by him or his office. State media has relied on archive footage to introduce him to the audience, and state propaganda networks have heavily relied on AI video and stills to create an image of an all-wise leader who rightly inherits the mantle of leadership.

The main mural at Vali Asr Square in Tehran, long a canvas for the official state narrative, now shows a young Khamenei receiving an Iranian flag from his slain father as Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, founder of the Revolution, looks on approvingly. The message is deliberate: a seamless passing of the torch. What it conspicuously avoids is any reckoning with the central contradiction at its heart, a father-to-son succession in a system born from revolution against hereditary monarchy.

One clue in the new leader’s absence may come from state media reports that he too has been injured in what’s being dubbed the “Ramadan War.” Perhaps his reported injuries have prevented him from appearing on video, though that wouldn’t explain the lack of a written statement. Another factor could be the disappointment expressed by US President Donald Trump in Mojtaba Khamenei’s appointment following his father’s assassination. Asked Monday if the new supreme leader has a target on his back, Trump responded that he didn’t want to say...

Canadian Coast Guard captain fired for 'willfully' ignoring distress call: labour board

Former captain maintains he did nothing wrong, says he was 'railroaded'

The Canadian Coast Guard fired one of its captains on the grounds he "willfully" ignored a distress call about a sinking boat in cold and choppy P.E.I. waters, according to a recently posted federal labour board decision.

"His misconduct was significant, both in terms of the reputation of the coast guard and the consequences for public safety," notes the decision from the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations and Employment Board, which was made public last week. The case dates back to May 13, 2024, when the mussel boat Knot a Chance ran aground on a sandbar in the infamously dangerous Malpeque Harbour channel and started taking on water in rough seas. Another vessel tried to help and sent a mayday call, according to the decision ...

Iran war sparks energy crisis

The world could face one of the most severe shocks to energy markets since the 1970s as we enter week two of the war in the Middle East.

The strait of Hormuz, the artery for 20 per cent of the world’s oil and gas, has been effectively shut down. Qatar, which makes up one fifth of the world’s liquefied natural gas exports, has stopped production of LNG after Iran struck two of its sites. In the aftermath natural gas prices spiked in Asia and Europe. Jim Krane, a fellow in Middle East Energy Studies at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy, is here to talk through the high stakes. Jim also reported for the Associated Press in the Middle East for years.

Great Spirit bless 🙏

Good Monday morning to everyone! I would like to begin the morning with a short prayer of my own, if you don't mind a Martian praying 👽 "I pray that today will be better than yesterday, which was better than the day before yesterday. Now, just do the best you can, one day at a time.

🌄🌞🌅

It is going to be a nice sunny day out today, a little on the windy side though, but who cares? I'm not going out GOLFING or something like that. If I took up an outdoor sport, I would like to find a nearby crossbow range. I used to be pretty good with both a crossbow and a bow and arrow, more so with the bow and arrow.

I had a homemade bow and arrows. For the bow, I used a willow branch soaked in the lake for several days, held down under the water with stones. I whittled the thick end to the same tapering thickness as the tapering smaller end, then *gradually* curved both ends using the twine I salvaged from store packages. After the taut twine had stretched, I waxed it with candle wax and let it dry.

The arrows and arrow tips were made from filed-off nails, nails I had nailed into holes drilled into the big end of a stick I was using for an arrow shaft. Then I would nail the nail into the hole, whittle down the stick, wind electric tape around the end of the stick, cut it to the right length, notch the back end of the shaft, and voila, an arrow! They would stick in a tree and could easily take down squirrels if I had a desire to do so, which I didn't.

This was when I was around 10ish years old. Na! I wouldn't think of killing anything except for maybe a couple of frog casualties when showing off to other kids. I liked doing mostly target practice, like, pine cones, a piece of bark, trees, especially the knots in birch trees made good targets; tree stumps, and of course, tin cans were the most fun; the nail would go right through the can <- -- 🥫-- {

That was just one of the things I picked up on how to build stuff just from reading magazines, books, fiction, non-fiction, imagination, adventure, and discovering there was lots of adventure in reality. Still, I spent a lot of time back then reading pocket novels, books from bookstores and libraries, etc., my silent teachers. So this narrative establishes one thing: even back then, I was playing survivalist, adventurer, and discoverer, like when I used to play Robinson Crusoe on his lost island, I had my own island on the other side of the lake.

Most European leaders have tiptoed around Trump’s war with Iran. Not Spain’s PM

Most European leaders have trodden a fine line between offering limited support for US military action against Iran and warning of a regional conflagration.

Amazon: Stop Powering ICE’s Deportation Machine

Amazon Web Services is a prime driver of Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) incarceration and deportation

regime by providing ICE with a host of data storage services. Along with other major tech corporations, Amazon has built a

revolving door with the US government to entrench Silicon Valley's role in expanding the acceleration of ICE's surveillance,

data accumulation, arrest, imprisonment, and deportation of immigrants. ICE cannot wage its war against immigrants

without the critical infrastructure support provided by tech corporations like Amazon.

How does Amazon fuel mass deportation?

The Amazon Cloud: DHS relies heavily on Amazon Web Services (AWS) as its primary cloud storage. In fact, Amazon has

evolved from being a one-stop shop for consumers to the biggest broker of cloud storage space on the planet. By using

AWS cloud storage services, DHS is able to store, sort, and share huge amounts of information used to target immigrants

in its growing tech enforcement portfolio. AWS’s cloud service allows ICE and DHS to:

● Collect, store, and organize a massive repository of information on immigrants, their friends and family: ICE

purchases and collects unprecedented amounts of information on immigrants and the people connected with them.

This includes biometric (facial, iris, etc.) and personally identifiable information collected by ICE and CBP officers,

DMV data, license plate and other tracking data, utility bills, business and property data, healthcare provider

information, cell phone records, location tracking social media accounts, and much more.

● Scour Regional, Local, State, and Federal Databases to build profiles to surveil, track, and ultimately deportimmigrants: The Trump administration’s prioritization of targeting immigrants en masse has accelerated ICE’s acquisition of massive amounts of data and spurred on the enlistment of tech companies to develop solutions for

data accumulation and analysis...

● Undermine Sanctuary City policies through unprecedented data sharing among all levels of law enforcement...

Amazon gets richer from ICE's deportation machine by:

● Further entrenching the "cloud industrial complex" — a lucrative public-private partnership between industry

lobbyists, key federal legislators, tech executives, and former tech-executives-turned-government officials and vice

versa...

● Supporting the development of systems that allow the US government to target and punish en masse those which

the Trump Administration has deemed "undesirable—immigrants...

This is why we're targeting Amazon

It’s time to hold Amazon accountable for its outsized share in building the deportation machine, and demand that they stop. It won’t be easy—Amazon makes billions from these contracts...

We can force Amazon to stop helping DHS and ICE target immigrants if enough of us call them out, stay engaged, and keep the pressure on. For more info & the report Who’s Behind ICE: Tech Companies Fueling Deportation

🤡🦸‍♀️🦸🦸‍♂️🦹‍♀️🥷👽🧚‍♀️🦄🧛‍♀️☢️🧟🎸🗿"Dum - dum!" PROTEST!📢🍁

TODAY'S DISCUSSION:

PROTEST - PROTESTING:

- Google Search -

🔹AI Overview

Protest is a formal declaration, statement, or gesture of objection, disapproval, or dissent against policies, actions, or, in some contexts, to affirm a position. Protesting, or demonstrating, is the act of engaging in such public expression to influence opinion or policy.

Key Aspects of Protesting

  • Definition: It is a public act of objection, ranging from individual statements to mass demonstrations, aimed at challenging social, economic, or political issues.
  • Purpose: Protests are organized to raise awareness, influence public opinion, or pressure authorities to change policies.
  • Legal Protections (Canada): The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees freedoms of opinion, expression, and peaceful assembly.
  • Limitations: Rights are not absolute; they do not protect violence, destruction of property, or illegal activities.
  • Locations: Legally, protests often occur on public sidewalks, in parks, or outside government buildings, provided they do not block access or create undue safety risks

Wikipedia:

Protesting often involves collective action, such as marches, rallies, or demonstrations, and can sometimes be categorized as civil resistance or nonviolent resistance when part of a sustained campaign.

PROTESTS:

The right of the people to peacefully assemble is in the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The framers of the Constitution didn't place the right to peaceably assemble further down the list of rights because it is not a privilege granted by the government, nor is the right to petition the government for the redress of grievances. The text of the First Amendment is below:

First Amendment

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Protests are held worldwide, often to the disappointment or irritation of a government. The gathering of people to show their disapproval of a government action is "bad optics" for the regime.

Recent protests in France over disputes between unions and management have drawn remarkable crowds and shut down the entire nation for days, until the disputes were resolved. Another protest against the French government's action to increase the minimum retirement age by two years brought forth seas of protestors throughout France. Some protestors in Paris became violent and destroyed property, going so far as to set fire to the occupied home of a government official!

Massive daily protests have successfully brought down governments whose officials did not serve the people first.

Protests are a gathering of people, almost always dissatisfied with a government action. Frequently, the government shows its displeasure by shooting a water cannon into the crowd, releasing chemical irritants, beating the protestors with clubs or batons, and dragging some off to arrest. Be careful if you're in a protest, and be prepared for opposition.

After Iran and Venezuela, Kim Jong Un must decide how to handle Trump

Last weekend, North Korean state media condemned the United States and Israel for launching a “war of aggression” against Iran, but did not report the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with dozens of members of Iran’s top leadership.

That omission was not accidental. North Korea’s political system is built around the near-mythic authority and invulnerability of its leader. Publicly broadcasting the violent removal of another supreme leader would introduce a dangerous precedent. It would remind North Korean citizens that even the most powerful figure in a tightly controlled state can be tracked, targeted and eliminated. That is not a narrative Pyongyang has any incentive to circulate at home.

Indeed, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un may be asking himself if the time has come to pick up the phone and call US President Donald Trump. As the US and Israel press on with their military campaign that plunged the Middle East into crisis, Kim and his small circle of party and military officials who oversee national security are undoubtedly analyzing every aspect of the US military operation. And they are certainly taking note of Trump’s ability to pivot quickly from diplomacy to force. Trump is expected back in Asia later this month for a summit with China’s Xi Jinping...
