May Great Spirit bless πŸ™

Monday morning coming down, it appears like clear sky out there, and that infernal wind we've been having for the last couple of days has died off. It's about time. It was beating the πŸ’©out of my artificial palms and coconut tree in my Green Space, lucky they still have limbs.

I seem to be back to feeling as normal as this body is going to be, and I am thankful for that as long as I can still be functional and not so sick that it takes all my energy just to walk across the room.

That was a prime example of getting the flu on top of recovering from having my teeth extracted, then the GERD desides to act up as well, all at the same time. I was bedridden for nearly a month, except for when I was sitting here on the couch doing the news.

TODAY'S DISCUSSION:

VACCINES

DON'T BE A MORON πŸ₯΄ by being an anti-vaxer and getting as sick as a squealing pig 🐷and passing it onto someone else, then they get ill and die. IF you don't get the shot and you get terribly sick, and or die, blame your own stupidity. I don't feel sorry for THOSE WHO WILL NOT TAKE THE PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES AGAINST THESE DEADLY VIRUSES. 🦠 DON'T BE A DUM-DUM πŸ—Ώ GET SMART, AND GET THE FLU SHOT*_ πŸ’‰

If they're too stupid south of the border to give out and take shots, the entire U.S. should be quarantined from Canada. With Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the BUTCHER, in charge, using the whole country as a petri dish. How do you like being a specimen in a petri dish? Well, ya voted for that piece of orange carrion meat, NAZI LOVER!

Now is the time to undo the wrong before the wrong gets you. I wish there were vaccines against stupidity. There are a lot of members of Congress that could use a shot of that antidote against Samurai Dumbness, especially those in the retirement homes they call Congress and the White ShπŸ’© House, Home for elder demented people

Importance Of Vaccines

Vaccination is crucial for protecting individuals and communities by training the immune system to fight diseases, preventing severe illness, hospitalization, and death from infections like measles, polio, and COVID-19, and building "herd immunity" to shield vulnerable populations, proving safer and more effective than getting the actual disease. Vaccines stop outbreaks, safeguard future generations, and are a cornerstone of public health, saving millions of lives annually by preventing diseases that still exist globally.

Well, that will be about it for now from the Newsroom. Thank you for dropping by to read the latest in CONFUSION DELUSION WORLD NEWS. Hey, LOST! Follow us. 🫰

Is Trump’s grip on the GOP weakening? These eight Republicans tested him in 2025

Washington

—

They are still the rarest of Republicans – those who have spoken out and stood up to President Donald Trump over the past year, willfully saying something he rarely hears: No. Even as most of the GOP faithful remains squarely behind the president or unwilling to publicly step out of line, the list of those confident enough to defy Trump over policy and politics is growing. It’s a new moment for Trump, who has kept a tight hold over his party for most of the last decade.

The stresses and strains of the upcoming midterm election year may show whether the fractures in Trump’s base are truly deepening. That, of course, is far from certain. Yet this group of eight Republicans is notable for how they’ve gone against the grain to openly challenge Trump...

Paramount’s new, hostile offer to Warner Bros. Discovery: Larry Ellison will personally guarantee $40 billion

Paramount has upped the ante in its hostile takeover bid for Warner Bros. Discovery, announcing Monday that Larry Ellison will personally guarantee the tens of billions of dollars he is putting up to bankroll the transaction. The Ellisons will also let shareholders peer into the finances of their family trust.

The Warner Bros. board of directors has rejected Paramount’s bid multiple times, opting instead to go with an offer from Netflix, which WBD says is more valuable. The board also said Paramount has misrepresented itself to WBD shareholders, calling into question the legitimacy of the deal’s “illusory” proposed financing.

To counteract that critique, Paramount said Oracle founder Larry Ellison – the father of Paramount CEO David Ellison – will guarantee all $40.4 billion of the equity he’s putting up to finance the $78 billion deal.

That’s a big guarantee, putting Larry Ellison on the hook for about a sixth of his roughly $250 billion net worth if something falls through.

Larry Ellison also agreed not to revoke his family trust, which could have complicated the potential financing of the deal, and Paramount is publishing records that confirm the trust owns 1.16 billion Oracle shares, which the WBD board called into question...

Gaza’s ceasefire has stalled as both sides drag their feet, leaving few countries willing to step up and help

U.S. President Donald Trump and negotiators will spend the Christmas break trying to salvage the process

Both sides of the miserable war in Gaza are dragging their feet on moving on to the next crucial phase of the ceasefire, leaving Palestinians in the territory to deal with the muck and sometimes deadly cold of winter with few reasons to hope that meaningful progress will come soon.

“Isreal needs to let us live,” said Mohamed Hassouna, 44, who has moved all of his belongings into a tent amid the pulverized concrete of what was once his neighbourhood near Gaza City. “They can be a country and we can be a country,” he told a videographer working for CBC News...

As cost of living climbs, a Vancouver shelter adapts to a rise in unhoused seniors

Specialized support workers are providing care to the elderly at Union Gospel Mission

Every year hundreds of seniors pass through the doors of Vancouver’s Union Gospel Mission (UGM) in the Downtown Eastside.

But since the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of seniors accessing the shelter’s services has been steadily increasing. Pre-pandemic, roughly one-quarter of people staying at the shelter were over the age of 55, according to UGM. Post-pandemic, that’s grown to one-third.

And as the population ages, their needs become more complex.

Canadian among fired workers from Grand Theft Auto studio says they just want their jobs back

Rockstar Games accused of union-busting after firing 34 in Canada and U.K. in October

The firing of several employees at the makers of the Grand Theft Auto video games came as a complete surprise, according to one of the Canadian workers who was let go this past fall.

"I had no idea what was going on. I was shell-shocked," said one of three game developers fired from Rockstar Toronto (actually in Oakville, Ont.). CBC News is not naming the developer out of fear of retaliation, including being blacklisted from future employment in the games industry. Thirty-one Rockstar employees working in the U.K. were fired the same day. Rockstar Games, which has multiple studios, primarily in the U.S., and U.K., alleges they were fired for "gross misconduct," and leaking company secrets.

Well, here I am. I got up at 6:30 AM, took out the clean dishes from the dishwasher, and set up the paraphernalia for making coffee later. I sat back on the couch with my laptop for a little while until it's time to get the coffee on. I feel more like whatever normal is this morning, no nausea or dragging my arse around the house all day like a dog with an itchy backside doing the scoots, *in slow motion*.

Well, it felt more like a freeking hangover that wouldn't go away. I lost 14 lbs. from not eating, so I do have a bit of rehabilitating to do. First on the agenda is to teach my stomach to like food again. I pray I never get sick to my stomach ever again for the rest of my life, AMEN! OK, that's it for my health report. I'm not laying any bets on anything anymore. I got hit by too many boomerangs that weren't supposed to come back. I can only pray that the witch doctor runs out of boomerangs. πŸͺƒ

Key Motivations For Americans To Move 2025

- Google Search -

Most Americans considering leaving the U.S. are driven by a mix of political dissatisfaction, desire for adventure/better quality of life, and concerns over high costs (healthcare, housing, education), seeking better work-life balance and personal growth in more affordable, less polarized countries, with younger generations (Gen Z, Millennials) being the most vocal, though actual emigration remains low compared to aspirations.

Despite high interest (spikes in "how to move to X country" searches after elections), most Americans stay put due to family, finances, and the complexities of international relocation, The Conversation reports.

Countries in Europe, Southeast Asia, and Latin America are popular, often offering easier visa requirements or a lower cost of living.

My Thoughts Only, when things get really screwy south of the border, how many will cross the border into Canada without the papers? The very ones who were pro-ICE suddenly find themselves being illegal immigrants. No? They should drop you off in the Arctic tundra, just wearing your underwear. I like red polka-dot underwear; they remind me of clowns.

I sum this all up by saying I'm with THE YOUNGER GENERATIONS (Gen Z, Millennials), may Great Spirit give them the opportunity we had but lost by replacing the Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum) for the sword. πŸ—‘️ We, the Baby Boomers, πŸ‘Ά πŸ‘§ πŸ§’ πŸ‘¦ πŸ‘© πŸ‘©‍🦳 πŸ§‘‍🦳 managed to replace the potential for true peace and greatness with tyranny, hate, 😑 🫟 🧳 🀬 πŸ‘Ή ☠️ 🚁 πŸŽ‡ 🧨 πŸ’₯ ⚔️ and the destruction of one ugly soul that the people so worshiped this demented old man and his psycopathic followers and supporters, we allow old men who have lost their minds, through the course of Alzheimer's or dementia. US seizes another vessel off Venezuela as Trump administration ramps up pressure on Caracas

Personnel from the United States boarded and seized a vessel off the coast of Venezuela on Saturday, according to a US official familiar with the matter, as the Trump administration ramps up pressure on Caracas.

It was the second known instance of the US interdicting a vessel near Venezuela this month and comes after President Donald Trump announced this week a “blockade” of sanctioned oil tankers going in and out of the country. The US seized a large oil tanker called the Skipper, which had been under sanctions for its ties to Iran, on December 10.

While Trump’s directive this week targeted sanctioned tankers, the vessel the US seized Saturday is not under US sanctions, the official said. The seizure wasn’t contested by the tanker’s crew.

The vessel was a Panamanian-flagged tanker carrying Venezuelan oil, according to the official, and was ultimately destined for Asia...

It is 27° F, with an expected high of 40° F, and cloudy with on-and-off rain throughout the day. They're calling for this type of weather right up until December 31, a green Christmas. That doesn't matter on Christmas Eve, we set up the Laser Projector Lights and aim them into the woods below across the driveway. My partner and I stay right here at home for the holidays. There is no sense in going out there, fighting the weather, and then coming back home all exhausted.

As for my health, I'm feeling reasonably well this morning; the only problem is I don't know what to take in the morning, since I don't have any teeth and my stomach is finicky due to GERD and the extraction of my teeth. It's hard to say what I can ingest in the morning, so my morning meds have been pushed to lunchtime meds, because I can't handle just pills on an empty stomach. Believe me, it's better to leave it empty in the morning. I wouldn't wish this πŸ’© -show even on Trumpo the Typo, either. Hmmm. How about a busted mouth by somebody's fist? πŸ‘Š πŸ’₯ πŸ₯΄

Passengers leave a Delta Airlines CRJ 900 jet after it crashed on landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport on February 17, 2025

He walked away from the fiery crash of an overturned plane. Here's how his life has changed

It was like any other business trip for Minnesota frequent flyer Pete Carleton: walk through TSA, fill up the water bottle past security and chat with colleagues at the gate.

On that cold February day, just before noon, he boarded Delta Connection flight 4819 to Toronto with ease. He found his seat, 9D, by the window and put his Beats earbuds in and played one of his favorite Canadian rock bands, The Tragically Hip. "(I) got on the plane, and I did as I always did, you know, sit down, put my ear buds in, tuned out," he said. "(I) didn't talk to the dude next to me. He didn't talk to me, you know, just typical travel."

Things went smoothly until the plane was preparing to land and the unthinkable happened. The airplane's main landing gear support failed, and the body of the jet went sliding down the runway. A wing broke off on impact...

  • It 'just didn't feel right':
  • 'They were all just looking at us':
  • 'Humanity kicked in for a little while':
  • 'I'm not the same guy':

Carleton realizes the horrifying event in Toronto will likely loom over him for the rest of his life.

"My Thoughts!"

Nothing as awful as that can be swept under the carpet. Sooner or later, it will pop up to bite you on the leg. I myself have seen and experienced some pretty nasty or close shaves kind of stuff, like going off a fifty-foot cliff with a Skidoo with only a small pine tree to break my fall. And some pretty harrowing experiences with my spouse. As they say, stuff that could have cost me my life? Yes.

It Was Finding Sobriety that changed my life. It made me aware of just how precious life is and how quickly it can be taken away. The best you can do is to do your best while you're here, in whatever endeavor you take on. Mine was being a social worker. When it's time to move on to something else, be honest with yourself, change your plans, but don't quit.

In general, the onset of trauma precedes the onset of alcohol dependence. Although it is impossible to establish a direct causal relationship, this temporal relationship suggests a robust and positive relationship between exposure to early-life trauma and alcohol-related problems later in life.

I do pray a good Friday morning, everyone. It's 35°F and raining out there with an expected high of 37°F. I am thankful to awaken in what is still a free country. My state of health this morning appears to be stable, thus far, and I pray it stays that way. I feel like I'm flying an old aircraft, and I just reached 5,000 ft., and do the checklist list, ya know, like, "Props, check!, Flaps, check! Rudder, check! Engine ... I said engine? Er, no engine, sir!"

What makes this recovery a little more difficult than just a tooth extraction is that the bad teeth really played a number on my stomach, which had not yet fully recovered from the appendix removal last year. The GERD was irritated by the flu and the rotten teeth, along with the fact that I had no teeth to chew food properly and get the nutrients I should have.

Without medical aid, no support for the elderly, or war veterans, government employees who have lost their jobs and homes, living in tents, no soup kitchens, no food banks, living in squalor, garbage, and disease running rampant, and no vaccine or any medical help to protect them from it. Then the civil disorder and confusion will begin, driven by displacement, desperation, and starvation. Then, there are the break-ins for food, clothing, or any other necessities.

Exclusive: Top lawyer for military joint chiefs told chairman that officers should retire if faced with an unlawful order

How should a military commander respond if they determine they have received an unlawful order?

Request to retire — and refrain from resigning in protest, which could be seen as a political act, or picking a fight to get fired. That was the previously unreported guidance that Brig. Gen. Eric Widmar, the top lawyer for the Joint Chiefs of Staff, gave to the country's top general, Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine, in November, according to sources familiar with the discussion.

Caine had just seen a video that included six Democratic lawmakers publicly urging US troops to disobey illegal orders. He asked Widmar, according to the sources, what the latest guidance was on how to determine whether an order was lawful and how a commander should reply if it is not...

Experts on civil-military relations have previously pointed to retirement as a reasonable option for officers who object to a particular policy, while noting that it comes with its own costs.

The big wrinkle in the multitrillion-dollar AI buildout

New York

—

There’s a giant question hanging over the tech industry: How long will its massive investments in AI infrastructure really last?

Tech giants are shelling out hundreds of billions of dollars on artificial intelligence infrastructure — mainly, data centers and the chips that power them. It’s an investment they say will set the stage for AI to overhaul our economy, our jobs and even our personal relationships. This year alone, tech firms are expected to pour $400 billion into AI-related capital expenditures. A portion of that will almost certainly put a recurring strain on companies’ balance sheets...

Ryan Wedding’s image as alleged drug kingpin inflated by U.S., says Sinaloa cartel operative

Cartel has done business in Canada for decades, operative tells CBC News

The U.S. is “inflating” the image of Ryan Wedding to create a major news event the moment the alleged cocaine kingpin is finally taken down, says an operative with the Mexican cartel that law enforcement believes is protecting the former Canadian Olympian. In an interview with CBC News in northwestern Mexico, the operative with the Sinaloa cartel said that his organization has dealt with Canadian narcotics customers for more than two decades, but he’s only recently heard of Wedding’s name from news reports and social media posts.

“His name has gone viral in these last few months, they say he’s the new Chapo,” said the operative, referring to the nickname of JoaquΓn (El Chapo) GuzmΓ‘n Loera, one of the former leaders of the Sinaloa cartel...

N.S. man inspires health-care system change while waiting for surgery in Toronto

Halifax kidney transplant doctor says Samuel Provo-Benoit's challenges have eased path for other patients

Even if Samuel Provo-Benoit doesn’t get the present he dearly wants in time for Christmas — a kidney and pancreas transplant to beat the Type 1 diabetes that’s steadily destroying his body — he has something else to celebrate. The North Preston, N.S., man’s story is helping to ease the path for transplant patients coming after him.

“It’s making me feel like my purpose [in] life is being fulfilled to help someone else along this journey called life,” Provo-Benoit, 35, said in an interview about going public to CBC in September.

HEALTH CARE ONTARIO

Ontario is facing a complex healthcare crisis: while trying to attract U.S. doctors by cutting red tape, the system struggles with chronic underfunding, leading to clinic closures, staff cuts, and privatization, creating service gaps that new recruits can't immediately fix due to systemic issues like low pay, high workloads, and fragmented funding, even with some new hires. It's a push-pull: trying to solve staffing shortages with foreign recruitment while simultaneously dealing with the fallout from past cuts and funding models that drive doctors away or limit services.

WHY THE SHORTAGE OF FUNDS, MR. FORD?

During the Trudeau government's time in office, a $30-million healthcare allocation in Ontario was an annual commitment from the Ontario government, made in February 2023, as part of a larger healthcare plan that was later incorporated into a bilateral agreement with the federal government.

This is part of a broader pattern of substantial health-care spending announcements by the Trudeau government, which often involve much larger figures, such as:

$196.1 billion over 10 years in a health funding proposal to provinces and territories.

$3.1 billion in health-care funding deals were signed with individual provinces like Ontario to hire more health workers and reduce wait times.

$354 million over five years to increase the number of medical professionals in remote and isolated First Nations communities.

Allegations that the Ford government in Ontario is "stealing" health care money refer to accusations by critics, such as the Ontario Health Coalition, that the government is intentionally underfunding public hospitals to facilitate the growth of private, for-profit clinics.

These accusations are often framed in the context of specific concerns:

  • Diverting Funds and Staff:
  • Higher Costs:
  • Privatization:
  • Wasted Funds/Mismanagement:

The Ford government has defended its actions by stating it is committed to improving access to care and reducing wait times through its "Your Health" plan, which includes licensing new clinics.
