Morning, everyone. I really don't know if I should add the "Good" to make it "good morning." Not sure it means anything anymore, because each day the big yellow bus that We, the People, are pushing uphill (including Canadians) gets harder. With the Demented Orange Clown driving, the load gets heavier.*_

Everywhere in the free world, the past year's economic and political events have added weight to everybody's bus 🚎 People are weary of the fight for survival ⚔️🏕️ and everyone is ready to give in to the Demented Orange Clown👺🟠🤡 — yeah, the same one who was driving the yellow bus 🚌 with his foot on the brake 👞🛹 all along. If they take this 👺🟠🤡 out of commission soon and make his face disappear from the public consciousness, sanity will slowly seep back into the populace as the governing DEMOCRATIC state rebuilds itself. Question: nuclear holocaust

🔹AI Overview

A nuclear holocaust is a hypothetical global disaster where the mass detonation of nuclear weapons causes widespread destruction, radiation, and climate collapse.

Immediate Effects

• Fireball and Heat: A nuclear blast creates a core temperature of millions of degrees, instantly vaporizing everything near ground zero.

• Blast Wave: A massive shockwave travels at supersonic speeds, collapsing buildings and causing lethal internal injuries over several kilometers.

• Thermal Radiation: Intense heat triggers simultaneous massive fires that can merge into raging urban firestorms.

Long-Term Consequences

Analysis: Trump’s TIME interview shows a president consumed by his own news coverage

President Donald Trump’s new interview with TIME magazine begins and ends with his complaints about the media, reaffirming how consumed he is by his own news coverage. Even when asked about Iran or the Senate, he circled back to his feelings about the press.

“You haven’t asked me one f**king positive question,” Trump said toward the end of the interview with Eric Cortellessa and Sam Jacobs. The entire interview was remarkably emotional. “Well, I hope I get a decent story,” Trump concluded. “I don’t think — you know, it’s hard to get a good story. Every question’s a hit. I don’t know what the hell’s wrong.”

Trump’s strong reactions may relate to his recent banning of CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House...

  • A familiar obsession:

"TIME: “Mr. President, your polls have never been lower.”

TRUMP: “They’re fake numbers. I would beat anybody running today by 20 points. Your numbers that you have are fake. The pollsters are corrupt. They’re almost as corrupt as the writers.”

Renee Good’s family sues the Trump administration over her fatal shooting in Minneapolis

Good was killed by ICE officer Jonathan Ross while driving away from federal officers, according to bystander video. Trump officials have sought to paint her as the aggressor and said Ross acted in self-defense.

Renee Good’s family is suing the Trump administration and several federal officials over her fatal shooting by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer during an operation in Minneapolis in January, her family announced on Thursday.

In two civil lawsuits filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, Good’s family asserts a wrongful death claim against the United States and accuses federal officials and immigration enforcement agents of violating her civil rights, respectively.

White House aide Stephen Miller, former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and her former aide Corey Lewandowski, former Border Patrol commander Greg Bovino, and ICE agent Jonathan Ross, who killed Good, are named as defendants in the second lawsuit.

West Coast oil pipeline becomes 1st project designated in national interest

Classification under Building Canada Act will fast-track approval process, environmental assessments

A proposed pipeline carrying one million barrels of oil a day from Alberta to the B.C. coast has become the first project designated in the national interest, the federal and Alberta governments have announced.

Listing the West Coast Pacific Link oil pipeline on Schedule One of the Building Canada Act means the federal government has moved from considering whether it should be built to how it will be built by fast-tracking the approval process, including environmental assessments.

"Before the Building Canada Act, proponents would have to spend years and potentially billions of dollars doing this work before even knowing where the federal government stood on the project," Carney said in Fort McMurray, Alta., on Thursday...

Great Spirit bless 🙏

Morning all, it's another beautiful sunrise 🌅 here at the Tree House 🏡 It feels more like early spring than early fall. The leaves are still quite green, and I can comfortably sit out here in my Green Space 𓊐🌱🌿 🍃𓊐 without a jacket or sweater 🥼 sipping my coffee ☕️ That's one of those small blessings in life that I don't forget to be grateful for: to sit back, enjoy the green around me, the rising sun over the treetops, peace; then I simply let my thoughts drift to wherever they will. 〰️⛵〰️ You might try this journey, too.

While my mind is drifting to a comfortable place, call it "Inspiration Ville" or "Dreamland," wherever I find my inspiration to write, I allow random thoughts to become whatever materializes in my conscious mind. The returning thoughts formed in my conscious mind take shape. It's like recording feedback. Or getting a return text message from The Master Of All Consciousness 🌌

All that in only about 5 minutes or so of sitting, relaxing, and allowing my thoughts to flow, instead of keeping them caged in a melee fighting for attention, like the speech bubble filled with little stars, lightning, and little fists flying around, like in a cartoon strip ➡️ 🗨✊✨*•.°💫✊

It's important to have some quiet time to yourself, a place where you feel most comfortable to sit, release, and let the strained mental pathways drift for a few moments.

Cleveland-Cliffs Leaving Ontario**_

THE GREAT CLEVELAND CHICKENS IN RETREAT FROM ONTARIO! BUNCH OF CLUCK, CLUCK, CLUCKS🐓🍗🐔🐥🐓🫟💩and🪶

Prime Minister Carney should throw all the US companies 👅 that are potentially 🔪𖠣 cockroaches 🪳🪳🪳 out of Canada 🍁and nationalize their property. BEAT THEM TO THE PUNCH🥊💥🥊

NOTE: STELCO WAS OFFERED FEDERAL HELP WITH THE TARIFFS BY MARK CARNEY! INSTEAD, THEY ARE CLOSING THEIR HAMILTON PLANT!

- Google Search -

Question: Google AI: U.S.-owned Stelco leaving Hamilton, Ontario.

🔹AI Overview

Stelco is not fully leaving Hamilton, Ontario, but its U.S. parent company, Cleveland-Cliffs, has announced it will indefinitely idle a major portion of the Hamilton Works facility. Beginning October 9, 2026, the company will shut down its cold-rolled and coated steel finishing operations in Hamilton, resulting in the layoff of 350 to 500 workers across its Ontario footprint.

Key Details of the Shutdown

• The Cause: Cleveland-Cliffs blamed the decision on severe U.S. tariffs (including a 50% tariff imposed on Canadian steel in August 2026), a collapsing export market, and an influx of cheap foreign steel dumping into Canada. Demand for Stelco's cold-rolled and galvanized products reportedly dropped by nearly 25%.

• Shift to Lake Erie Works: Cleveland-Cliffs is concentrating its remaining raw steel production at its Lake Erie Works facility in Nanticoke, Ontario. The company stated that total steel tonnage will not change, but the product mix will shift to hot-rolled steel. It has promised to offer replacement jobs at the Lake Erie facility to affected workers in Hamilton.

• Political Backlash: The decision sparked intense outrage. Prime Minister Mark Carney condemned the layoffs as a "betrayal" of Canadian workers. The federal government has threatened legal action, noting that Cleveland-Cliffs’ $3.4-billion acquisition of Stelco in late 2024 carried strict legal commitments to protect unionized Canadian jobs until 2029. Hamilton Mayor Andrea Horwath also strongly criticized the move, calling it "unacceptable and unfair".

Would you like more details on how the Canada-U.S. trade disputes are impacting other Canadian steel manufacturers, or more information on the legal terms of Cleveland-Cliffs' acquisition of Stelco?...

BREAKING NEWS RECAP:

Mark Carney blasts U.S.-owned Stelco after Hamilton layoffs, says workers were ‘betrayed’

“We intend to use all powers that we have and pursue them to the full extent of the law,” Carney said.

OTTAWA — Prime Minister Mark Carney delivered a terse rebuke Tuesday to steelmaker Stelco and its parent company for breaching “legal obligations” to maintain jobs in Canada, saying Ottawa will pursue legal action against the company if it fails to meet those obligations.

The day after Stelco Holdings announced it would lay off up to 500 workers at its Hamilton and Lake Erie facilities, citing the import pressures of the tariff dispute and weak demand, the prime minister laid the blame squarely at the feet of the Trump administration and its corporate allies.

Yet Carney insisted Canada remains ready to negotiate “in good faith” with the U.S. president, saying Ottawa believes a “mutually advantageous trade arrangement that respects both our countries’ sovereignty” is still possible, even as evidence mounts that President Donald Trump‘s tariff sledgehammer is drawing investment south of the border...

  • ‘Spitting in our face’: Up to 500 Stelco workers face layoffs:
  • Donald Trump’s tariff war on Canada won’t achieve what the president promised — and it was never meant to:

In a more “dangerous and divided world,” Carney said fundamental issues of energy security, food security, information security, and financial resilience and security “are best addressed through reliable partnerships.

Stelco's U.S. owner to face 'fullest extent of the law' over layoffs: PM Carney

Stelco, owned by Ohio-based Cleveland-Cliffs, directly linked its layoff plans in Hamilton to trade war

Prime Minister Mark Carney says Canada's federal government will "use all powers that we have" against the U.S. owner of an Ontario steel plant that announced hundreds of layoffs on Monday. Stelco, owned by Ohio-based Cleveland-Cliffs, directly linked its plan to cut up to 500 jobs in Hamilton with U.S. President Donald Trump's trade war with Canada.

The Trump administration imposed 50 per cent tariffs on foreign steel under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act last year. Canada has retaliated with duties on many U.S.-made steel products. Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Carney singled out the company's CEO, Lourenco Goncalves, for "applauding" Trump's move to impose punishing tariffs on Canadian steel...

Why Ontario's MRI wait times keep rising

A new report by The Canadian Center for Policy Alternatives found that wait times for MRIs in Ontario have increased since the province moved more of them out of hospitals and into outside clinics. And as Queen's Park reporter Lorenda Reddekopp tells us, it's not the only medical procedure seeing increased wait times.

Question: Why Ontario's MRI wait times keep rising

🔹AI Overview

According to a September 2026 report by the Canadian Center for Policy Alternatives, MRI wait times in Ontario continue to rise because government policies have increasingly outsourced services and funneled billions into private, for-profit clinics rather than expanding public hospital capacity.

📊 Key Findings From the Report

• Longer Waits: Median MRI wait times jumped 34% from 35 days (2017) to 47 days (2025).

• Severe Delays: Wait times for the 90th percentile of MRI patients surged by 95%.

• Funding Shift: The province paid out $4.1 billion to for-profit private facilities (integrated community health services centers) between 2017 and 2025.

• Public Drain: Critics argue that shifting resources to private clinics hollows out public hospital staffing and fails to improve overall system efficiency.

I really do think it's time for the picket signs again. Maybe bring your pitchforks and torches to Queen's Park because the Ford government is not improving healthcare delivery by any measure. Our tax money goes in, and what I think is planned failure comes out as longer waiting times for us to get help.

Why it’s mind-boggling that Trump may have offered weapons to China

U.S. ambassador to China David Perdue’s shocking statement Sunday to Fox News that President Donald Trump has asked Chinese President Xi Jinping if he wanted to buy American weapons has spurred denials from Trump. But regardless of what exactly happened, Perdue’s claim speaks to something profoundly amiss in the Trump administration’s approach to navigating U.S.-Chinese relations.

Let’s consider the possibility that Perdue was accurately conveying something that happened. While discussing Xi’s state visit to Washington last week, Perdue said on Fox that Trump and Xi talked about U.S. arms sales to Taiwan — a long-running point of frustration for Beijing, as China opposes Taiwanese independence...

LNG Canada expansion gets go-ahead, as Carney set to highlight 'historic investment' in Canadian energy

Expansion of LNG Canada project would double exports from Kitimat, B.C., to overseas markets

LNG Canada says its multibillion-dollar Phase 2 expansion in Kitimat, B.C., is going forward, in a move that could double exports of liquefied natural gas from the northern coastal facility to overseas markets.

In a statement Tuesday, LNG Canada CEO Chris Cooper said the project will create thousands of jobs and further strengthen Canada's role as a trusted energy partner.

"LNG Canada Phase 2 is another nation-building investment that demonstrates Canada can build big things when governments, First Nations partners, local communities, skilled trades, contractors and investors work together with shared purpose," Cooper said.

It comes as Prime Minister Mark Carney is in Vancouver on Tuesday to highlight what his office calls a "historic investment in Canada's energy industry."

Question: A sustained national general strike to drive Trump from office

🔹AI Overview

Calls for a sustained national general strike to oppose President Donald Trump's administration have been raised by public figures such as musician Tom Morello and U.S. Senator Ruben Gallego.

Origins of the Recent Calls

• Minneapolis Protests:

Following fatal shootings by immigration enforcement agents in Minneapolis in January 2026, local protests and work stoppages inspired broader national discussions.

• Tom Morello's Appeal:

Guitarist and activist Tom Morello publicly called for a sustained general strike to drive Trump from office during events in Minnesota.

Inside the Trump campaign strategy to reverse Republicans’ dwindling hopes of winning the midterms

The midterms mood among Donald Trump’s inner circle has soured as GOP candidates openly break with the president and his approval ratings hit an all-time low, prompting a largely unspoken but age-old question: How does an unpopular president best help his party keep control of Congress?

Trump advisers have privately acknowledged that there’s little expectation he can win over large numbers of independents and swing voters, which was part of his path to victory in critical states in 2024. And while they’re more concerned about losing control of the House, Republicans’ previous confidence that they can hold onto the Senate is dwindling by the day.

“It’s obviously going to be f***ing rough,” one Trump adviser told CNN, adding that they believe the best-case scenario is achieving what Democrats did in 2022, when under former President Joe Biden they narrowly lost control of the House but kept the Senate...

Why Susan Collins is hanging on so tightly in Maine

A new poll provided a reality check to Democrats’ hopes that Troy Jackson would unseat the Republican incumbent.

NEWS VID | Included:

Three months ago, Troy Jackson’s hopes of political success seemed dashed, as the former state senator finished third in the Maine Democratic gubernatorial primary. But then came a reversal of fortune so rapid that, if it were a script, Hollywood would reject it as too fanciful.

After Graham Platner’s sudden fall, Jackson became the party’s standard-bearer for the U.S. Senate, facing the difficult task of beating Republican Sen. Susan Collins.

Now a new poll has provided a reality check. The latest New York Times/Siena survey shows Collins ahead (though within the margin of error), 49%-46%. With control of the Senate in the balance, the poll set off alarm bells among Democrats hoping the upper chamber will be a check on President Donald Trump. But the president’s opponents shouldn’t panic.

Other surveys, including two released the same day, show Jackson leading or tied. And regardless of what the polls say on any given day, any race involving Collins was always going to be a true toss-up right till the end.

  • Collins’ attacks have come fast and furious, and her side has a considerable cash advantage:
  • The core of Collins’ case for herself, though, focuses on how she’s helped Maine in small, concrete ways:
  • Collins has asked the Trump administration to tap the Northeast Home Heating Oil Reserve to stem price hikes, but it’s unclear how much that would help:

Carney's comments over possibility of U.S. invasion reveal how contingency plans are always in place

Former army commander says defence plans would have been amended in light of Trump's threats to sovereignty

A senior U.S. military commander recently dismissed a journalist's hypothetical question about a feared American invasion of Canada as "absolutely and utterly preposterous."

The head of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, Admiral Samuel Paparo, added: "Would you ask me please, also, what my attack plans are for the Martians?"

It seems, however, it hasn't been such a far-fetched notion for Prime Minister Mark Carney, nor his senior defence officials who have dusted off various long-established — in some cases decades old — contingency plans and worst case scenarios.

This tiny N.S. community was frustrated with big-box grocers. So they opened their own store

Fiddlehead Market Co-op opened in Bear River — population 1,000 — in July

High prices. Long travel times. Poor-quality produce. Food insecurity.

There were so many reasons that some people in the tiny, rural community of Bear River, N.S., in the Annapolis Valley were growing frustrated with their grocery options at large, mainstream grocers.

“The prices are, you know, inhumane,” said Bear River resident Drew Tozer. “You're getting produce that has been rotting on the trucks for 48 hours … It's like half-spoiled because Nova Scotia is at the end of the food supply chain.”
