🧚‍♀️ TREE HOUSE NEWS 🏡

NEWS AGGREGATOR & COMMENTS

Great Spirit bless 🙏

Well, what do you know? It's a beautiful, warm, bright, typical lazy sunny summer day here today. Wow! It makes me feel like a kid just let out of school for summer vacation. Life is so wonderfully precious when one is not feeling like a pincushion with discomfort and pain.

I remember my first day out of school for vacation. I would purposely miss the bus and walk the five miles home. I especially liked walking in the woods along the highway; exploring, I called it. I liked exploring old buildings, caverns, beaver ponds, junk yards, sand and gravel pits, DESERTS! etc.

A sand or gravel pit also makes for a good shooting range, and we had one in our backyard. I practiced there with various types of long arms from BB guns to hunting rifles as I got older. Annie Oakley? Well, I can't say that, but I got proficient enough at shooting my Winchester from the hip that I could knock empty beer bottles off a pile of lumber at thirty feet, just directing the barrel of the gun instinctively, feeling it 😉 much like when you make a shot playing pool, a gut-shot, I believe they call it—feeling certain, without doubt, and bingo! Like magic, until you start doubting yourself, then you scratch.

Self-doubt would be a good topic for the day. I also wish to say Thank You for visiting and reading the Tree House News 🏡

TODAY'S DISCUSSION:

Question: SELF-CONFIDENCE

AI Overview

Self-confidence is a realistic belief in your own abilities, judgment, and inherent worth. It empowers you to tackle challenges, recover from setbacks, and express yourself authentically without constantly needing validation from others.

Understanding self-confidence involves recognizing how it operates, why it matters, and how you can actively cultivate it in your daily life.

The Core Pillars of Confidence

• Self-Efficacy:

• Self-Esteem:

As I wrote above: Playing pool, without DOUBT, and bingo! Like magic, until you start doubting yourself, then you scratch.' That was my downfall.

Positive thinking is a learned behavior. I can't guess how many times a person hears the word "no" from the time they are a toddler to their teenage years, often said in a loud voice to keep a child from harm. But a child doesn't understand why there's shouting, and their growing mind imprints negativity. We begin mental and emotional growth from a negative view. How can we fix that?

First, question why you feel less than self-confident. Why do you question your ability to fit in or to be equal to others? Discard that stinkin' thinkin by helping yourself change it. Positive affirmations are easy to do and effective tools. Telling yourself, in a soft voice, what you believe you are lets you hear what others never show you. We get messed up by hearing bad stuff. We can start fixing that by hearing good things. I discovered that being aware of when you're using stinking thinking is the warning to change the direction, or check it into the mental locker where I store all of my old pet peeves for later analysis, one at a time, please.

And that about wraps it all up for today, so let us move on to the Breaking News Recaps of the day.

BREAKING NEWS RECAPS:

Iran says it hit US targets as tensions over Strait of Hormuz strain agreement

Iran said it has struck US military targets in the Middle East region in response to US strikes around the Strait of Hormuz as tensions over the key waterway strain a peace deal between the two nations.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards said Saturday that it targeted US military positions, Iranian state media Press TV reported, with the foreign ministry accusing the US of violating their agreement. The US military has not confirmed any strikes, but the exchanges are the first since the memorandum of understanding was signed last week.

CNN has reached out to the White House and CENTCOM for comment.

Bahrain, which hosts a US military base, reported Iranian drone attacks on its territory early Saturday morning. The country's foreign affairs ministry condemned the strikes as "a flagrant violation of Bahrain's sovereignty."

The Reflecting Pool shows Trump's warnings of a weaponized government were really threats

If the administration can't admit a mistake, it has to find someone to blame

President Donald Trump can be unpredictable. He changes his mind based on who last talked with him. He has no real interest in the day-to-day work of running the federal government.

But beneath the chaos, he does have a governing philosophy.

The ongoing debacle of the Reflecting Pool has been a helpful distillation of his approach:

Make a big promise, use it to reward your allies, blame setbacks on your opponents, criminalize dissent, and then attack the press. The first three steps are fairly common in politics, especially among populists with little experience in government.

  • Once ordinary politics is treated as criminality, the machinery of government inevitably follows:

Some Russians are turning on Putin as drones hit Moscow. Does it matter?

'Not only are they not winning, but the war is coming closer,' says Pulitzer-prize winner Anne Applebaum

Last week, Moscow residents looked up at black smoke hanging over the city as Ukrainian drones buzzed overhead.

It was Ukraine's largest drone attack on the Russian capital since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in 2022. Hundreds of flights were delayed or cancelled, while a major oil refinery on the city's outskirts was repeatedly struck and set ablaze.

"If Ukraine is going to burn, your Moscow will burn too," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said...

Venezuelans on the front line of earthquake relief: 'It's all improvisation'

The coastal state of La Guaira, one of the hardest-hit areas, has faced natural disaster before

Death is everywhere in Playa Grande, a beachfront neighbourhood in Catia del Mar, a city in the Venezuelan state of La Guaira which was devastated by Wednesday's back-to-back earthquakes, says Rober Javier, who has spent the past two days searching for survivors and bodies.

Javier, a musician who plays the French horn, says he came across more than a dozen unclaimed bodies Friday within a 300 metre radius — not far from the local Marriott hotel where he and a group of doctors, paramedics and volunteers have set up a base camp in the city, which sits along the Caribbean Sea, about 30 kilometres north of Caracas.

"They've [dug out] many more people," he said, in a telephone interview with CBC News...

RECAP IN ADDITION TO YESTERDAY'S ONTARIO HEALTH CARE REPORT.

Ontario nurses rally at St. Joe’s Hamilton over hospital budget cuts

In my opinion, I believe Ford is copy-catting a page out of Trump's book. RIP 'EM OFF! They're just a bunch of sheeple! What do they know, and what do they matter, as long as my rich thieving friends make lots of money? Thank you, Great Spirit, that I don't wear a judge's robes.

Are we going to allow this Nazism to seep into our Federal Government, too, like a snake bite?

  1. WHY ARE THERE LAYOFFS OF HEALTHCARE PERSONNEL IN ONTARIO, SPECIFICALLY AT ST. JOSEPH'S HOSPITAL IN HAMILTON, ON? THERE IS NEWS VIDEO OF NURSES MARCHING AGAINST THE LAYOFFS.

    AI Overview

Healthcare layoffs and job cuts across Ontario, including those at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, are primarily driven by severe hospital budget deficits and inadequate provincial health funding. Faced with these shortfalls, many hospital employers are choosing to reduce staff to balance their budgets.

    Ontario Nurses' Association +2

The recent news videos and marches feature members of the Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) and CUPE protesting these cuts. Here are the key factors driving both the layoffs and the protests:

    CBC +1

    • Hospital Deficits: St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton previously announced job cuts (including both active jobs and vacant positions) to help manage a multimillion-dollar operating deficit within its budget. Across the province, hospitals are citing similar financial pressures.

    CBC +1
    • Provincial Funding Shortfalls: Healthcare unions state that the Ford government is not providing enough funding to keep up with inflation, the rising cost of complex patient care, and population growth.

    Newswire Canada +4
    • Union Demands: The ONA and other labor unions argue that hospitals are forcing remaining healthcare workers to "do more with less," which they believe compromises patient safety, increases emergency wait times, and causes dangerous burnout.

    Newswire Canada +1
    • Privatization Concerns: Many healthcare workers have also expressed opposition to the province's policies regarding health-care privatization, arguing that funding should be prioritized to preserve and expand frontline care in public hospitals rather than contracting services out.

You can track ongoing updates regarding these job losses and union negotiations via the Ontario Nurses' Association or follow local reporting on the situation through CHCH News.

    AI Overview
The Carney federal government is allocating $6 billion in infrastructure funding specifically for Ontario, which can be applied to health care facilities, along with a national $5 billion Health Infrastructure Fund over three years for upgraded hospitals and emergency rooms across the country.

My question here is if the province doesn't have the money as they say, then WHERE IS THE $11 BILLION ALOCATED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT?
