Great! Back to beautiful sunny ☀️ weather with balmy temperatures out there. The farmers will be relieved; it's a typical old-fashioned August day. It reminds me of back in the Fifties as a kid, and the Sixties, laid back in the backyard with a nice cold beer, listening to nature's symphony of insects breaking the silence. It was peace.

Today is like the summertime back in the Sixties, the "Lazy, Hazy, Crazy Days of Summer!"

Remember those peaceful days in the summer, like it used to be pre-the wannabe Hitler President? Isn't life today like a spot of 💩 on an angel's 👼 gown? Or a horsefly in your Pasta Fazool?

Anyway, to make my story short, it was that kind of morning here as I sat out in my Green Space with my coffee 🌱🌿 🍃 ☕️. Silence, except for the occasional bird song in the distance; I could also hear- actually, I could feel it more than hear it- the tinny distant vibration of a ship's engines at port somewhere in the canal. The sun, the trees, pearly blue sky with peacefulness and silence; it reminded me so much of the August days back home where I grew up—just wool gathering. I like my Green Space for that. 🐑😌

I am not going to keep it too long today; I would like to take some time this afternoon to go downtown with my partner, Paula, the editor of this publication. Maybe find another story to publish while I'm out. Who would suspect an 81-year-old lady of being an active news reporter? 😁

The 25 states that have sued the Trump administration over its latest effort to impose tariffs on dozens of countries correctly pointed out that the claim that those countries haven’t sufficiently cracked down on goods made with forced labor is the administration’s pretext to reimpose tariffs the Supreme Court struck down.

On top of that, the Trump administration’s claim that tariffs are needed to punish those 59 countries and the European Union, which it says are too permissive of forced labor, is also hypocritical. Here's the latest on northwestern Ontario's forest fires: Sunday, Aug.

No new wildfires were reported in northwestern, northeastern Ontario as of Saturday evening*

There are 109 active wildfires in northwestern Ontario, according to the latest report from Ontario's Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services (AFFES) issued Friday night.

Of those, 13 are not under control, six are being held, six are under control and the rest are being observed. There were no new fires confirmed in the northwest region as of Saturday evening. The forest fire hazard is mostly low across northwestern Ontario, with pockets of moderate and high hazard across parts of the region...
