Great Spirit bless πŸ™

Good mornin' all! Well, it's a sunny, comfortable morning πŸŒ…. The forecast is calling for five consecutive days of sun ☀️ and ⛅️, with temps between 76°F and 81°F and mid-teens at night; lots of crickets πŸ¦— and katydids ;𓆦; at night with these mild temperatures. I'm going to miss these pleasant days and the music of nature's symphony through the night. It's been cut way too short, considering real summer didn't start until... I think it's the beginning of July. The heavy rain and flooding came after that.

Before then, it was grey clouds every day, rain, and cool temps, ya know! You expect that in late March and April, in the Vancouver area, but not in July in southern Ontario. The cool, wet air was so pervasive that I began to wonder if I would be wearing woolen socks all summer! Our climate is hospitable, usually temperate under normal circumstances; that is why the Niagara Peninsula is the best farmland in Ontario for orchard fruits, grapes, and vegetables, and a major contributor to feeding Canada.

AI Overview

While the Niagara Peninsula features some of Canada’s most productive and irreplaceable agricultural land...

The last couple of years were a little dry but not overly warm summers, then suddenly a very hot, humid heat wave set in, and we got floods. This summer has excessive water, which is also harmful to farmland. Plants drown, too.

"SO, BOYS AND GIRLS, HEADS UP! IT'S HAPPENING EVERYWHERE!

"It's in the air! It's in the air ༄πŸͺ༄ it's everywhere," shouts the town crier πŸ—£️πŸ“’ "maybe even in your underwear!" A thunderstorm ⛈️ maybe even in my underwear? (‿Λ ‿)πŸ’¨πŸ©² he tells Mrs Vladimir, who then whispered in Mr. Eclair's ear, then to Mrs. Blair's ear, the queen of Bel Air πŸ’ƒπŸ‘‘that she just pee-peed πŸ’¦ her underwear 🩲 while Mrs Vladimiri rides off πŸ‡πŸΌ into the sunset πŸŒ… in πŸ’©πŸ©²

The Tree House specialty of the day πŸ”πŸŸ will you have coffee ☕️ with that?

So, what is the insanity du jour up for discussion today?

Didn't have to look far.

Trump’s Commerce Secretary under pressure to use his powers to block voting machines

DO YOU STILL BELIEVE YOU ARE A FREE AMERICAN CITIZEN? I SEE NAZISM CLOSING IN ALL AROUND AND CLOSING IN ALARMINGLY FAST ON TAKING OVER THE LEGAL PROFESSION INTO A 16TH CENTURY DUNCE CADET SYSTEM. THAT'S THE TRUTH AS I SEE IT, I DO NOT WEAR A BLINDFOLD πŸ₯½

That's what the rest of the world is also seeing πŸ‘️

And it's not just Trump, the defective psycho—the typo; it's everyone working to keep Project 25 going, and to be sure there are brains behind this NAZI (‿Λ ‿)πŸ•³️ERY clever brains, but evil and dangerous, because they think like the NAZIS of the past during World War II. The REPUBLICAN PARTY is mostly, if not all, NASTY NAZIS; they don't care about anything except their wallets. THERE IS NOT A HEART ❤️ AMONG THEM, ONLY A LEATHERY BAG πŸ’° FILLED WITH LEAD NICKELS πŸ”˜ IN THEIR CHEST FOR A ❤️ And that about sums it up. If you can't see that, then you're blind, stupid, demented, and a Dunce Cadet, in other words, DUMB AS A RED BRICK 🧱

SO, THE QUESTION FOR THE DAY IS: WHERE THE H**L HAS EMPATHY GONE, TOO?

I could go on about empathy for several pages, at least until the cows πŸ„πŸ‚ come home; Empathy? It comes in different forms, from the inventor, the salesman, the farmer, making sure you have food on the table, the store owner, the health care worker, the firefighter, the factory worker assembling the new products for the consumers, the average person doing their work diligently and with care because this new product could save someone's life, or imagine all the pleasure some children and adults have with all the wonderful things for us to enjoy today. I used to get giddy as a child when I went Christmas shopping with the kids; any shopping with kids was fun.

Many things are available for us to partake in. Their sole reason is not to please people, but to give them a measure of happiness to improve their morale, help them stay safe, and let them know they are members of an empathetic society. There is nothing wrong with a good comedy show, the theater, or a night on the town; it's all pleasures we should be free to enjoy. All the wonderful things people use to do to please other people, not to like today, with gratuitous violence, abuse of women and children, apocalyptic movies, dystopian survival, mortals saving the universe, and so on, make it impossible for anyone to be happy. Now, it's not just Scranton where happiness goes to die; it's all of Pennsylvania and the rest of Trumpland. Happiness goes to America to die 😒

Trump wanted a midterm convention. He got a funeral for MAGA’s majority.

The first night of the made-for-TV event turned out to be a rerun of GOP talking points.

Wednesday night brought exciting new programming to the fall television schedule. I am, of course, referring to the NFL’s season opener, a Super Bowl rematch between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks.

The first night of the Republican Party’s midterm convention in Texas, on the other hand, lacked memorable moments. There were some surprises, to be sure. Senate Majority Leader John Thune, for instance, chose not to attend the convention — a decision more understandable after the mention of his name drew boos from the crowd. And Sen. John Fetterman’s video introduction for his fellow Pennsylvania Sen...

  • When Trump finally came out in the 9 p.m. hour, he spoke for more than 90 minutes. Like a tired old lounge singer, he tried to belt out the old hits:
  • While the aim of the convention was to charge up the base, most Americans care more about their lives, their family, their friends and futures than the fate of a politician:

And Trump’s super PAC is finally beginning to spend its hundreds of millions of dollars, while Elon Musk has reportedly committed at least $100 million toward Republican victories. Money cannot stop a wave election, but it can mitigate one.

OH, DEAR LORD, I DO PRAY πŸ™πŸ§Ž THEY LOSE THEIR MONEY πŸ’Ά πŸ’΅ πŸͺ™ πŸ’³ πŸ’Έ πŸ’΄

Trade war, Alberta referendum loom large as Carney charts cabinet's year forward

New parliamentary sitting presents plenty of challenges to PM with no end in sight to escalating trade war

When Prime Minister Mark Carney gathered leaders of the world's foremost economies in Kananaskis Country's picturesque mountainside last spring for the G7, it was fresh off his election win, a wind seemingly at his back as he met with U.S. President Donald Trump to talk trade, and the threat of the province's separation from Canada was a remote hypothetical.

"Our primary focus will be on trade and trade with Canada," said Trump at the time, standing side by side with Carney in his first visit to this country since 2018. "I'm sure we can work something out."

A little more than a year later, Carney is once again holding high-level meetings in the Rocky Mountains of the province where he grew up, this time to plan the upcoming parliamentary sitting with his cabinet, fresh off three byelections where his governing Liberals cleaned up.

But there is little else in common with the optimistic outlook of 2025...
