Good morning, everyone! Well, at least I pray that today is a better day than yesterday, and if each day is better than the day before today, then may the Great Spirit bless your soul. 😉🙏👼

I was composing that in my mind as I was turning on my system to begin my Newsroom report, and there it is. It's another one of those pretty shimmering sunrises over the treetops, postcard mornings again. I even heard an early spring bird singing in the trees across the way. It feels more like life returning to the land.

RAINBOW OF LIFE:

Early this morning, I woke up in the dark, no flashlight; it had fallen off the coffee table and rolled under it. I had no idea what time it was, but I could feel this kind of shadow over me, making the darkness feel darker. I didn't like the feel of the shadow, so I turned on the first light I could get to, then the shadow evaporated. I felt this, not saw it. For any empath that I'm aware of, it's not only about physically seeing; Empaths also feel beyond what the eyes can see. I don't let the shadows take over anymore. Listed below is how I deal with the depression, or the shadowy side of me.

I need to keep my mind occupied and organised by sane thinking: concepts, theories, imagination, the philosophical, as well as the scientific, and the spiritual. The wonderful world of humanity's complexities is expressed in personalities, behavioral dysfunctionality, functionality, achievements, failures, and its infinite potentialities. It's like a rainbow, except the dark part of the rainbow you don't see from the light. As I have mentioned before, the darkness is only the scum on the surface of the water, cutting off the sunlight; that is the nature of scum. There are a lot of blood suckers in that scum bucket, too, but then there's a lot more water than scum. Now it's time for the water to move the scum aside and let sunlight shine through.

That early in the morning, my mind is like the absentminded professor who can't remember where she last put her glasses, and now she can't see her nightmare 🐴🦇🌙

See, that's how I learned to get away from bullies: Instinctively, I was a survivalist. I learned to climb a chain-link fence faster than they could, then blend into the woods, and become the observer, no longer the hunted. That's the survivalist, like digging a hole under a stump large enough to accommodate me and my pack sack, lining it with pine needles and a sleeping bag. It made for a nice, cozy shelter.

The encampment was near the edge of a thirty-foot rock cliff, a nice place for a campfire in a large circle of rocks. Oil prices jumped Monday as the widening war in Iran disrupted tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, highlighting how important the passageway is to the world's oil supply.

The Strait of Hormuz is the narrow mouth of the Persian Gulf through which about a fifth of the world's oil passes. Tankers travelling through the strait, which is bordered in the north by Iran, carry oil and gas from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Iran. Good morning, folks! Well, it's partly cloudy, and we got about half an inch of snow, which I promptly swept off my Green Space. It wasn't until I came back in that I discovered just how chilly it was out there. I sat down for a coffee while scrolling through my phone, scanning for the latest on what's happening with the rest of the world.

There is nothing unusual happening here, just a very ordinary, average morning here at the Tree House. No calamities, no catastrophes, no debacles or debauchery here, just me, the couch, and the silence; time for a little meditation, then I wake up my partner and get busy in the Newsroom.

Good mawnin', eh! It's me in the Newsroom back at you again. Well, I did take five to go out in my Green Space with a fresh cup of coffee to enjoy the sun and much milder air. I know the other winter stuff isn't done with us yet, but at least whatever we get now won't last long once March rolls around. I can't complain much about February.

February was typical, with dry, cold, and bright, sunny days; we did get a few of those. So here on the Niagara Peninsula, the microclimate didn't fluctuate much, except for being colder than usual, about the usual for snow; the most we got was 16 inches in one night near the end of January, about 20 inches altogether. Now, February 28, 2026, it's green grass.

Hey there, "Billy! Better put the snow shovel ❄️🪏 away and get the lawn mower 🛵 out!" Not quite yet, but closer. I do remember the rider mower back home, with a twelve-pack of cold beer 🍺 in a cooler tied to the back, in 90°F, the sun beating on my back. I enjoyed being outdoors, and I still do. NASA abruptly changes its roadmap to putting boots back on the moon

NASA on Friday announced an abrupt change to its pathway to getting astronauts back on the lunar surface, opting to add in an additional crewed test flight before attempting to land.

Space agency officials said that “Artemis III” — the mission name that had previously been used to refer to a moon landing slated to happen no earlier than 2028 — will now be a different mission entirely, one that involves launching a crewed NASA capsule to Earth orbit to dock with at least one prototype lunar lander vehicle made by SpaceX or Blue Origin. NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman said he hopes the mission will get off the ground in 2027.
