Land of The Whispering Pines
Good morning. Well, what's good is that I'm alive and not feeling pain. I'm just a little tired for some reason. Maybe it's because I was out in my green space sweeping snow, and it was windy and 18°F, probably closer to 0°F with the wind chill. I don't like zero on any scale. It's like walking a tightrope, and the person holding the net below is inebriated. I certainly wasn't meant to be a cold climate enthusiast, not growing up, nor at my age now, but I did go through a craze during the Skidoo mania years and who could build the best ice fishing shack competition during the seventies.

MEMORY LANE
I built my own fish shack, which was big enough for a small stove, a sleeping cot, a stool, a packsack, and fishing gear. It even had a small window made of that thick, clear plastic. It was snug for one person, so If I had a bottle of wine and had a guest over, I had to hang a sign that said; If anyone needs to pass gas, please step outside.

Just kiddin'.The fish shack was made of five panels of wall paneling painted with several layers of grey floor paint. The panels were light but well-sealed, and they were held tightly together with hooks. I could dismantle the shack in seconds and stack it flat on its floor frame, boards nailed across two 2 X 10s, which were also the runners for the sled.
I could also take what is *now* a sled through the bush and use it for a sugar shack in the spring, where Mom and I made our own maple syrup, both for the pantry and to sell. I loved exploring and feeling free, just me, the brilliant winter sun on my back and the clouds of snow all about me as I went full throttle through the freshly fallen snow.
I didn't realize until I sobered up when I was 47 years old that I had this make-it-or-break-it, or what do I have to lose type of attitude. I knew I would never make it to Hollywood, so I did the next best thing. Being an adventuress, an explorer at heart, adding a little alcohol, and playing the stunt person parts in real-time, I didn't break any bones except for a dislocated knee after wrapping my leg around a telephone pole while jumping a snow bank with my Skidoo.
I hope you enjoyed this little flashback from my past. There is so much news I could comment on, but I simply didn't have the energy this morning. There has been so much sadness and stupidity in the news lately, I mean, stuff that started wars and brought down empires, and everyone seems eager to go there??? I wonder if I woke up this morning on the same planet as I was just a decade ago, before the Trump stuff.
Now it's time to lift the corner of the rug and check it out for bugs; NEWS TIME!

I have disliked, distrusted, and have been repelled by some people's attitudes and apathy. I have done a lot of cursing and grumbling under my breath about the samurai dumbness that goes on in the world, and I pray for them. I have never hated anyone to the point where I wished them harm, or if I did, I took it back real quick and asked for forgiveness, but this orange puke bag is driving me to hate, and you don't want to get a fairy angry, wanna wear your nose on the back of your head? Forgive me, Great Spirit, please expedite the well-deserved karma.

Trudeau hosting summit today aimed at boosting economy amid Trump tariff threats
PM, business leaders, unions to discuss attracting investment, improving internal trade
With Canada not yet out of the woods when it comes to U.S. tariffs, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is meeting with Canadian business and labour leaders this morning in Toronto to chart a way forward.
The Canada-U.S. Economic Summit will "find ways to galvanize our economy, create more jobs and bigger paycheques, make it easier to build and trade within our borders and diversify export markets," said the prime minister in a statement earlier this week.
"We want businesses, investors and workers to choose Canada."

Buenos días. Bueno, lo bueno es que estoy viva y no siento dolor. Solo estoy un poco cansada por alguna razón. Tal vez sea porque estaba afuera en mi espacio verde barriendo la nieve, y hacía viento y 18 °F, probablemente más cerca de 0 °F con la sensación térmica. No me gusta el cero en ninguna escala. Es como caminar sobre una cuerda floja, y la persona que sostiene la red debajo está ebria. Ciertamente no estaba destinada a ser una entusiasta del clima frío, ni cuando crecí, ni a mi edad actual, pero pasé por una locura durante los años de la manía de Skidoo y la competencia de quién podía construir la mejor cabaña de pesca en el hielo durante los años setenta.

CARRIL DE LA MEMORIA
Construí mi propia cabaña de pesca, que era lo suficientemente grande para una pequeña estufa, un catre para dormir, un taburete, una mochila y equipo de pesca. Incluso tenía una pequeña ventana hecha de ese plástico grueso y transparente. Era cómodo para una persona, así que si tenía una botella de vino y tenía un invitado, tenía que colgar un cartel que dijera: Si alguien necesita expulsar un pedo, por favor salga. Es broma.
Es broma.La caseta de pescado estaba hecha de cinco paneles de revestimiento de pared pintados con varias capas de pintura gris para suelos. Los paneles eran ligeros pero estaban bien sellados y se mantenían firmemente unidos con ganchos. Podía desmontar la caseta en segundos y apilarla plana sobre su estructura de suelo, con tablas clavadas a través de dos tablas de 2 X 10, que también eran los patines para el trineo.
También podía llevar lo que *ahora* es un trineo a través del bosque y usarlo como caseta de azúcar en primavera, donde mamá y yo hacíamos nuestro propio jarabe de arce, tanto para la despensa como para vender. Me encantó explorar y sentirme libre, solo yo, el brillante sol de invierno en mi espalda y las nubes de nieve a mi alrededor mientras iba a toda velocidad por la nieve recién caída.
No me di cuenta hasta que me recuperé, cuando tenía 47 años, de que tenía esta actitud de "todo o nada", o de "qué tengo que perder". Sabía que nunca llegaría a Hollywood, así que hice lo mejor que pude.
