It's bad enough that the warped behavior and corruption that Trump has brought to the presidency have been accepted as normal by the House, the Senate, and the Supreme Court, and that Trump has so many of us confused whenever he says something is "fake news." There are so many fools who don't question it!

Now, he has taken to destroying entire news organizations by forcing them to act as his propaganda outlets. Fox "News" has been serving up its codswallop for years. They are his voice in the news biz. Recently, he added CBS News to his propaganda organs by exercising his influence over the then-pending Paramount-Skydance merger. Paramount is owned by billionaires Larry Ellison and his son, David. The Ellisons wanted that merger. Trump could "advise" the regulators to keep it from happening.

The merger happened, and CBS News was promptly gutted of its expert talent, with Bari Weiss taking charge. Weiss turned CBS into Trump News. Weiss interfered with the production and reporting of 60 Minutes, the crown jewel of investigative news programs, since 1967, causing their best reporters to resign or be booted out to make room for Trump propagandists.

Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes delivered what Fox News was to Trump. Now, it's Faux News. The Ellisons have remade CBS to please the one who threatened to put the kibosh on their merger. Can you imagine what might be next?

Cell phone providers eavesdropping on text messages or conversations? Cameras with facial recognition software running them? Banks sharing your personal data with Trump's lackeys. Don't say it won't happen because we don't know how much and what kind of information was stolen at Trump's command by Trump's buddy, Elon Musk, and his DOGE thieves.

And on those happy thoughts I say, sleep well, little children. The government watches over you.
