🧚‍♀️ TREE HOUSE NEWS 🏡

NEWS AGGREGATOR & COMMENTS*

Great Spirit bless 🙏

Good morning, at least it looks like a good morning! The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and it's getting closer to summer-like temps out there, though it's still chilly when it's windy. Not as much wind up in my Green Space, it's just nice for sitting out in the sun.

The big story today is MAINLY ABOUT CANADIAN HEALTH CARE NEWS, so I don't expect a lot of views from viewers; I usually don't see many, but I hope the few I do get are a productive few that will take action.

About Ontario Health Care - It's underwater, and it's going down faster than the Titanic. Action needs to be taken, LIKE GET YOUR BUTT OUT THERE WITH THAT PICKET SIGN IF YOU CARE ABOUT KEEPING HEALTH CARE ALIVE, or you may find yourself having to sell your house to see a doctor. Action needs to be taken immediately

A bit about (NU) National Union of Public and General Employees.

(NU) National Union of Public and General Employees

WHAT (NU) is about:

The solidarity of our over 450,000 members is with these critical striking workers. Chronically underfunded, successive governments have robbed community-based social services of the resources needed to care for those who rely on these services. Autistic services. Women's shelters. Child care services. Not only is the system drastically underfunded, but Ford is withholding back wages to some of the lowest-paid workers in our communities. These workers need justice today!

(NU) Means: National Union of Public and General Employees

HEARTBEATOFCARE•CA

Protect the heartbeat of care

The Heartbeat of Care campaign is shining a light on these specialized workers who have been overlooked for too long. When more than half of the team is working short-staffed every single day, everyone feels it.

HEALTHCARE ONLY WORKS WHEN EVERY WORKER IS VALUED

Healthcare is a team effort, yet many indispensable roles often go unrecognized and undervalued. From the lab technicians processing life-saving results to the environmental services workers sanitizing surgical suites and the health records clerks managing vital patient data, these workers are the backbone of our hospitals, clinics, and communities. SIGN UP!

THANKS FOR SIGNING UP.

The Federal government should know that Ontario health care funds are NOT getting to HEALTHCARE and Hospitals in Ontario... who knows, maybe the funds for hospitals, doctors, and nurses are going to Ontario Place spa that no one can afford to visit or private health care. Ontario Health received two transfusions from the Federal Government, yet they remain anemic. Is there a vampire in the room? Yeah, a big fat one, Ford.

Rapid Recap: Ontario Signs $3.1 Billion Health Care Agreement with the Federal Government

February 9, 2024

- Google Search -

🔹AI Overview

Federal funding for Ontario health care is primarily managed through the Canada Health Transfer and targeted bilateral agreements. The most recent major injections are directed toward expanding family health teams, boosting primary care networks, reducing surgical wait times, and supporting health infrastructure. These recent federal fund distributions are allocated to specific priority areas:

Primary Care Teams & Family Doctors: Over \(\$3\) billion in bilateral funding has been rolled out to expand interprofessional Primary Care Action Plan teams. The goal is to connect hundreds of thousands of Ontarians to a family doctor or primary care team by 2029

Since that FUNDING was dispersed by the Federal Government in 2024, shouldn't we expect some improvement in the healthcare system by now? All we have for that disappearing, imaginary 🧚‍♀️ °*.\3 billion dollars\.•° is a bag 🛍 of fresh air. The hospitals continue to cut staff; the closing of Emergency Rooms and complete hospitals continues unabated. Then Mr. Ford goes out and buys himself a private jet on the government's money, our money that could have gone towards improving the Ontario health care system. Should there be a new Ontario Place spa for the rich? DOES THAT MAKE SENSE WHEN WE'RE IN A HEALTHCARE CRISIS CAUSED BY THE FORD GOVERNMENT???

_**WHERE IS THE $3,000,000,000? Where did it go? What did they do with it? What did they improve with it? What did they accomplish? Where's the accountability for where every G.D. cent went? IT'S OUR MONEY, and our health, MR. FORD, you fat old greedy cockroach.**_

They were trained for a high-stakes underwater rescue. Instead, these villagers walked out of a cave to freedom

Xaisomboun province, Laos — After a long and complex operation inside a flooded cave in a remote area of central Laos, on Saturday, the men at the center of the mission did something few expected: they walked out.

It wasn’t what the international rescue operation had planned for. When the first of the trapped group of five men dived through the flooded tunnels on Friday, the efforts were paused and there was expectation it could be hours, even days before the others emerged.

Instead, after water levels dropped, the group scrambled their way out, taking even rescuers – who had planned a high-risk strategy to guide the villagers through flooded, zero-visibility tunnels to safety – by surprise...

James Clyburn says Democrats are misreading their own base. Here’s his fix.

At 85, the South Carolina congressman is fighting to protect his seat, his state’s place in the primary calendar and the future of a Democratic Party he believes is not paying attention to voters.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — If you ask James Clyburn why the Democratic Party has such low approval ratings, he won’t start with the platform. He won’t even start with the candidates. He’ll start with a critique of the chattering class. “We pay too much attention to the consulting class and not enough attention to our constituents,” the 85-year-old congressman said in a wide-ranging interview ahead of his annual fish fry this weekend, which has become a rite of passage for every Democrat mulling a presidential run. “Our constituents know what they feel, and we have to pay attention to people’s feelings.”

For someone who has spent decades inside the machinery of Democratic politics, Clyburn’s prescription is striking. He was the majority whip who counted the votes for the Affordable Care Act, the highest-ranking Black member of Congress and the man credited with reviving Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign. He has been, in other words, the kind of power broker he’s now critiquing.

Maybe it’s all that experience that gives him the standing to say out loud what many Democrats only say behind closed doors. His diagnosis: The party is losing a fight over perception that it doesn’t fully understand it’s in — and that’s true despite Democratic overperformance in nearly every race since Vice President Kamala Harris lost to President Donald Trump. The data isn’t on the party’s side, and Clyburn knows it. A recent New York Times/Siena poll found that 70% of respondents were dissatisfied with the Democratic Party, including 54% of people who voted for Harris...

Thousands are now Canadians under new citizenship law. Half of them are Americans

Sharp increase in applications after court required Ottawa to change rules

Thousands of people around the world have received Canadian citizenship certificates as a result of a change late last year to federal law.

Half of them Americans, CBC News has learned.

In the first three months since the change, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued proof of citizenship certificates to 4,075 people under citizenship by descent provisions in Bill C-3. The law allows people living in other countries who can trace their lineage from Canadian ancestors to qualify for Canadian citizenship even if their Canadian ancestor left Canada...

All for one: Norway, Germany sell Canada on shared submarine fleet

Willingness to give up production slots shows they're serious about winning: analyst

Both Norway and Germany invoked an all-for-one, one-for-all approach as they this week sharpened their public and private pitches for Canada to select the Type 212CD as the navy's next submarine. Both long-standing NATO allies, the two European powers are now putting more emphasis on what it means for Arctic and North Atlantic security for three nations to operate the same boat.

"We are thinking of the submarine fleet not as a Norwegian fleet and a German fleet and a Canadian fleet, we were thinking of a common fleet," Marte Gerhardsen, the state secretary to Norway's minister of defence, told CBC News in an interview this week. The Canadian navy is in the market for 12 conventionally powered submarines...
