TREE HOUSE NEWS🏡

Land of The Whispering Pines

🌅🙏Good morning, everyone! I pray that you all be well, at peace, provided for, and be blessed🙏 🌅

Well, I was up at my usual time, 6:00 AM. It is supposed to be sunny🌥 today; we'll see. I made coffee and had my cereal, then went about cleaning up stuff around the kitchen. I poured myself another cup of coffee and went out to my green space, where I sat for a few minutes to enjoy the fresh air and listen to the birds. Despite the cloudy🌫 weather, it was warm enough that all I needed was my sweater.👘

I would like to say: Put the coat 🧥 in retirement until 🍁Canadian Thanksgiving, which is around the time it's jacket weather again. Canadian Thanksgiving this year is on Monday, October 13, 2025. It's that time of year when, especially in the late afternoon, you need a jacket. There are still katydids and crickets out there until the last couple of weeks of October. Spring usually arrives in mid-February, but we still experience nasty weather in March, such as strong winds and blowing snow. 💨❄️

Although March snow passes quickly, and then we go back to wearing light jackets, to me the best climate in Canuck Land in my opinion is the good old Niagara Peninsula area between Hamilton and Niagara Falls, Ontario. I've been here for seven years, and the only times the weather pattern varied from the one mentioned above were during our first year here, seven years ago, and this past year. During La Niña, when the jet stream appears to be still hanging down trying its damndest best not to stray very far, it's likened to a large, insidious, immobile scrotum that won't budge off our noses. It's hard to see where you're going if you're a sportin' chicken wattles for eyebrows, eh?🐔.😂🤣😆

Enough of this portion of the Newsroom commentary, now it's time for today's discussion and my personal opinions on the topic of conversation. Thank you for reading the news.

Laughter is the Best Medicine

It's fun to share a good laugh, but did you know it can actually improve your health? Learn how to harness the powerful benefits of laughter and humor.

The benefits of laughter:

It's true: laughter is indeed a powerful medicine. It draws people together in ways that trigger healthy physical and emotional changes in the body. Laughter strengthens your immune system, boosts mood, diminishes pain, and protects you from the damaging effects of stress. Nothing works faster or more dependably to bring your mind and body back into balance than a good laugh. Humor lightens your burdens, inspires hope, connects you to others, and keeps you grounded, focused, and alert. It also helps you release anger and forgive sooner.

In my opinion, the last search provides a good summary of the benefits of humor. I should know, because I would never have made it through recovery without a sense of humor and a lot of imagination, through writing and drawing, creating my own worlds on paper.

WARNING: Humor and laughter are also highly contagious and spread much more easily than the vicious, chronic virus of conspiracy theories, and they're also way more fun, too. And much better on the noivous system.😵‍💫🫨laugh it off!😆 BELIEVE ME THE BEST MEDICIN is if you have no control over it, just laugh and joke the bejesus out of it. That's a lot less stress, and not to mention a lot more fun than throwing rotten veggies and shouting curse words at someone. Better bring your umbrella with you🌂 just in case they don't like your brand of humor.😜🤣

BRREAKING NEWS:

Trump writes ‘Vladimir, STOP!’ after Russia launches deadliest strikes on Kyiv since last summer

US President Donald Trump said he is “not happy” after Russia launched its deadliest wave of attacks on Kyiv in nine months, telling President Vladimir Putin to “STOP!” as he attempts to push Ukraine to agree on a contentious ceasefire proposal.

Moscow sent 70 missiles and 145 drones toward Ukraine, mainly targeting Kyiv, in an attack that leader Volodymyr Zelensky said was aimed at pressuring the United States.

“I am not happy with the Russian strikes on KYIV. Not necessary, and very bad timing. Vladimir, STOP! 5000 soldiers a week are dying. Lets get the Peace Deal DONE!” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Wednesday.

‘The Art of the Deal’ meets global reality

“The Art of the Deal” opens with an exhausting fly-on-the-wall account of a week in the life of Donald Trump the real-estate shark. He’s never still, always on the phone and cranking out deal-after-deal with big business pals.

The president hoped the first 100 days of his second term would uncork a similar torrent of dealmaking as depicted in the seminal text of Trumpism.

But Trump has softened his tone on his trade war with China; he blinked over reciprocal tariffs on dozens of other nations; and he is fast losing patience with the Ukraine war, which he had predicted he’d end in 24 hours. Deals are proving more elusive when the stakes are not skyscrapers and casinos but entire economies, the credibility of powerful foreign leaders and national sovereignty.

Tornado victims blocked from federal recovery aid after Trump denied request

Disaster survivors in Arkansas left homeless by recent tornadoes have been blocked from receiving federal recovery aid after President Donald Trump rejected the state’s request to declare a major disaster in March.

The Trump administration denied Republican Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ request for individual and public assistance following an outbreak of severe storms and tornadoes that also affected neighboring Mississippi and Missouri and left more than 40 people dead.

The denial follows executive orders signed by Trump seeking to shift the burden of disaster response and recovery from the federal government onto states, as extreme weather becomes increasingly destructive and costly in a warming world. It is unclear how states will fill the financial void, which for decades has been viewed as a federal responsibility given the wide-reaching, multi-state nature of disasters.

Trump talked about the '51st state' during call with Carney: Radio-Canada sources

Prime minister had said U.S. president respected Canadian sovereignty

During the phone call last month between Donald Trump and Mark Carney, the U.S. president put the idea of making Canada the 51st U.S. state back on the table, contrary to what the prime minister himself publicly stated later, sources told Radio-Canada.

According to two Radio-Canada sources with knowledge of the discussion, the issue of Canadian sovereignty was raised in the first part of the conversation.

At the end of this moment, described as "not easy" by one source, Carney said: "We'll agree to disagree on that one."

According to Radio-Canada's sources, Trump brought up the issue of the 51st state during the March 28 call, explaining the advantages of Canada joining the U.S. Carney let him speak before expressing his disagreement.

  1. Comment, Paula Koval:

Greetings, Everyone! Thank you for visiting.

My choice of opening topic today is easy. Cindy wrote about laughter and how wonderful a medicine it is.

This is from the Book of Proverbs:
    Proverbs 17:22
    New American Standard Bible 1995
    22 A joyful heart [a]is good medicine,
But a broken spirit dries up the bones.
Solomon the Wise knew his stuff.

I had a friend who was a registered nurse who had served in several capacities during her career. As she matured in her work, she tried hospice nursing.
Her approach to caring for those in the departure lounge of life was to treat each patient with respect while bringing them as much comfort as she could. She did this by keeping a mischievous countenance about her and carrying a bag of tricks, jokes, toys, and sound effects. Her favorite was a fart box. She also allowed her empathy to work with her. She was marvelous at her job because she loved going to work.

The utility of a laugh is manifest. When used prudently, a joke can defuse a tense situation, break down barriers between parties, and remove logjams in negotiations. A chuckle can go a long way.

Now, for a look at a bromance that everyone can see: Trump and Putin. I don't think Trump has any love for the Russian people or their nation. He has some admiration or hero worship for Putin. He hasn't said anything derogatory about Putin that I can recall. This message is more a plea than anything else. Trump has thrown Ukraine to the curb for Putin to annex, turned the world order that has done well since 1945 on its ear, tried to destroy NATO, blamed Ukraine for Putin's invasion of it in 2022 - in short, he has gone so far as to kiss Putin's ass for the world to see by removing significant sanctions that America placed on Russia as results of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. What's next? Trump asking pretty please to empty the Kremlin litter box and wash Putin's skivvies?
    Talk about a lapdog!

Here's one for the books! The biased President Trump refused to make a disaster declaration for the state of Arkansas following severe tornado damage. The governor of Arkansas is Sarah Huckabee Sanders, a former press secretary for President Trump during his first term. She is a blind follower of Trump. She and her state, along with the other 49, have been "DOGEd."
Two sad notes: First, the House and Senate passively allowed this gutting of government services for We, the People, to proceed without a complaint, actually, without a sound.

Second, barely enough voters voted for Trump. Apparently, this is what they wanted. Is this what you wanted?

"Don't put your money down until they stop rolling." -- The Sheik
Trump chickens out of a tariff fight with China and expects President Xi Jinping of China to call. Don't lose any ranting time on the web while waiting, Donzo.
Hegseth gets a makeup room installed next to his office. Incompetency is harder to see if the hair and face are done right.

Hegseth had Signal installed on multiple laptop computers in the Pentagon because he couldn't bring his phone into many areas due to security regulations. Sneaky devil, isn't he? And the nation is supposed to trust him with its safety?

Sleep well, children. Between him and the security detail guarding Kristi Noem when her purse was stolen on Sunday night are watching over you. And so is Kennedy at HHS. The Food and Dairy Inspection Services have been discontinued. No funding, no staff. Kennedy is a strong supporter of drinking raw, unpasteurized milk and thinks you should, too.

So much for science and medicine in the United States. Who will Americans laugh at now when they get sick from food and milk?
    Thanks for visiting. Stay safe.
